Morning everyone Smile as BIWI is away I have the honour of starting the week 4 thread.

I going to give you all the usual reminder that in week 4 it is PERFECTLY NORMAL for weight loss to stall. So you may sts or even see a gain.

Do not panic! Just KOKO Smile

Hello - I’m weighing in with only just over a lb lost but it’s not the lowest weight I’ve seen this week so consoling myself with that. Had a bit of a carby twat day two days ago as ate a bowl of ice cream (along with peanut butter and cream because obv that makes it better Hmm) so that’s probably why. Generally am sticking with it though better than any previous diet, and have lost over 9lbs in total so I’m happy!

Hippadippadation · 30/10/2017 08:17

People, whyyyyyy are you disappointed with "only" an lb? What are you expecting? You can't lose 5lbs every week. 1lb a week is normal weight loss, plus usually people sts or gain in weeks 3 and 4, so you're all doing really well! Be proud & happy Grin

The whoosh fairy has visited me, down to 123.8 this morning, so I'm claiming the 8s, yay!

CarbyDeadUn · 30/10/2017 08:21

Weekend meals.....

Sat
B. Cream coffee
L. Bacon, avocado and chicken salad and a bit of halloumi
D. Courgette, a few spring onions, fried in butter with a dollop of philly stirred in. With roasted pork belly.
2 gin and tonics

Sun.
B. Cream coffee
L. Pork belly and salad (cucumber, cherry toms, celery, feta, olives it’s olive oil).
S. Cream coffee
D. 3 eggs scrambled with butter and grated cheese.

A pretty typical couple of days. Drinking plenty of water. No crap.

Gammeldragz · 30/10/2017 08:25

I have an impressive new low weight this morning but only because yesterday's indigestion turned into a stomach bug and I was sick most of the evening and into the night. So barely ate anything and am dehydrated.
I won't declare this morning's weight, instead I'll go for the lowest I got this week which was 166.6lbs. Please could someone update the spreadsheet (under Ragz) for me. Thanks.

I made celeriac mash and only managed a mouthful, I'm really hoping I haven't given myself an aversion to celeriac now!

Any suggestion for what to eat today? Don't fancy anything fatty or strong flavoured I just want toast

Gammeldragz · 30/10/2017 08:28

carbydeadun might be the alcohol? It isn't the carbs so much as the fact alcohol switches off fat burning until the alcohol has been burned off, because calories from alcohol cannot be stored.

CarbyDeadUn · 30/10/2017 08:31

2 bloody gin and tonics should not = 4 bloody lbs. that would be wrong and totally unfair.

SoMuchToBits · 30/10/2017 08:31

carby, also the tonic (unless it was slimline, although artificial sweeteners may also have an effect I think).

CarbyDeadUn · 30/10/2017 08:31

Particularly when someone is used to being a 2 glasses of red most evenings kind of gal

CarbyDeadUn · 30/10/2017 08:32

And it was bloody nasty slimline.

Kleptronic · 30/10/2017 08:34

Carby there is dairy with every meal and it can stall some people. I know you said you're sick of meat, and if it was me I would try no dairy for a week, or in coffee only, and move towards the fish spectrum for the protein or get in some tofu/quorn maybe. And up the fats. More coconut/rapeseed/olive oil/butter.

I'd also experiment with ground flaxseed/almond/coconut flours and make stuff - there's a great coconut pancake recipe on Diet Doctor, and someone posted a great flaxseed scone recipe on the last thread (although it has cheese) - just to mix up the types and textures of foods you're eating. And eat more fat. Not enough fat there. More more fat. Honestly, more fat.

That's my opinion although I'm no expert, I'm sure someone else can advise too!

CarbyDeadUn · 30/10/2017 08:37

That’s an idea. But I hate fish.
I do fry everything.
I’m off shopping so will have a bit of a mix up.

ilovecherries · 30/10/2017 08:40

Ave, how are things with your DH? I know how worried you were last week.

HolgerDanske · 30/10/2017 08:40

If the slimline tonic was nasty, were those two drinks really worth having? And I really, really, don't mean that in a judgy way at all - I just mean, if it's not that nice anyway, rather than having mediocre drinks that you don't even like, why not just not have any at all for a month or two and see what happens. Or if you really don't want to go alcohol free, maybe a couple of small glasses of nice wine that you actually like instead, as a weekend treat. But if you can do without it whilst you're trying to lose it would definitely make a difference. Every time you have alchohol your body can't burn any fat at all until the energy from the alcohol is burnt off, so you lose the benefits of being fat adapted.

I agree that it might be better for you to switch your eating away from meat if you no longer fancy it and to have more fish or even veggie dishes.

Also, dairy free for a week or two often helps to break a stall.

More fat!

Flowers It will happen.

HolgerDanske · 30/10/2017 08:42

Also maybe try fish again? Even if you have always hated it, it might actually taste different now. Not all fish are equal, so I'd say maybe a nice sea bream or sea bass. If you like Thai both of those are really, really good baked in Thai chilli flavours. And nice crispy fish skin is very tasty and good for you!

Good luck. I know it can be really disheartening.

singadream · 30/10/2017 08:43

Can someone spreadsheet me please? 1lb loss. 247lb. Going to address portion size this week as been feeling unpleasantly full at times.

singadream · 30/10/2017 08:43

To spreadsheet. A new verb.

You lot are lovely. Flowers

YoLoNovVitMe · 30/10/2017 08:52

carby i think the very best advice you have had this morning is that which you have yourself! Wink

Have you really lost nothing since May? That's not my recollection and I've been here with you the whole time. You have lost and gained and lost and gained. This WOE works for you but like me and others you often sabotage yourself with poor food choices. With your penchant for a glass now and then (not judging!), do you think it likely that if you hadn't been on bc at all that you would be a stone heavier by now? That in itself is a great victory.

You know I say this with love. Smile

Koko because you can do this!! And what is the alternative? Carbs and junk and misery and self loathing and being heavier. Keep your goals in mind and stick to the plan!

We are all here for you and everyone else who struggles or wobbles.

princessbear80 · 30/10/2017 08:54

Morning all. End of week 2 today. STS - 156. Although, I think last week's loss was overestimated. I have discovered my weight varies depending on where the scales are. Downstairs on the wood floor gives a more consistent reading (this is where I did starting weight and today's weigh in), upstairs on the bathroom lino the weight can vary by about 5lbs depending on where the scales are. Anyway - 6.5lbs in two weeks I'm happy with that! I will KOKO and probably stick with full bc for the time being.
Thanks for the new thread ST.

YoLoNovVitMe · 30/10/2017 08:55

I cross posted with Holger. Because I can never limit myself to less than a tome Blush

YoLoNovVitMe · 30/10/2017 09:00

And to report in today. I am less than a lb off. But it doesn't matter because I am in this for the long haul. It's not a diet for me but a new way of eating that I shall continue with. Because I want to lose excess weight and not be fat anymore FOR EVER. not just for 10 weeks I don't ever want to be so obese as I have been ever again.

I am looking forward to next summer when I can wear normal summer clothes like vest tops and shorts and not cover up and feel fat and hot and sweaty and horrible. Im a size 16 to 18 now and it already feels good. Down from a 20 to 22. Im aiming for a buxom 12 to 14 because i am very busty Sexy bitch territory here I come!

HolgerDanske · 30/10/2017 09:00

In the interest of full disclosure, I'd like to say that if this was a shopping-addiction-and-don't-use-your-credit-card bootcamp, I'd be posting every other day with yet another transgression, so I'm really not claiming any discipline high ground here! I just think that whilst we all want to be given assurances that our decisions are okay (and in the grand scheme of things they are, of course - there is no shame in eating what one wants to eat at all) when we're on bootcamp sometimes we need to be told that actually, that wasn't the best decision, and no, it's not going to do you any good for the purposes of this bootcamp. At the end of the day, though, it's up to you what you do and none of us have any right to make it a big deal if you don't think it is.

Anyhow, I expect this will come over all intense and like a lecture which is not at all how it's intended but seems to be the way I always come across. If it's making it difficult for others I will just post here and there with my weigh-ins and meals and will leave the motivation and support to others.

YoLoNovVitMe · 30/10/2017 09:05

Holger you keep posting! Sometimes when BIWI is away some of us too often me borrow her stick. It is only what i expect others to do for me when i need it. And it is all coming from a good place. I am certainly grateful for your wisdom and advice. It's stuff we know but need to hear again and again.

Kleptronic · 30/10/2017 09:07

Holger you carry on for me, you're fine as you are!
