Oh, and my additional Lo-vember thing is going to be the 30day abs challenge. I have a bit of a droopy pouch thing going on with my tummy and it would be amazing to attack that from another angle.

ilovecherries · 03/11/2017 17:17

prettybird, while every stone barrier has amazed me, it's the one between 11/12 that is messing with my mind most. I'm almost scared of what it represents, somehow, yet at the same time desperate for it to happen. I almost can't process the fact that it would be possible to be smaller than I am right now, because it's almost out of living memory for me. I saw 12.10 today, and 12.8 yesterday so it's happening!

Rshard · 03/11/2017 17:17

I started a 30 day abs challenge in the summer with my dd, we were rubbish harlots what exercises were you thinking of doing?

Grah0SoontobeaFitty · 03/11/2017 17:24

Ah re read rule 7. Sorry I forgot the may drink that stuff. Got to absolutely no beer bit and switch it in to no alcohol as that is the only form I drink.

Re Mayo I rarely use plain hellmans always add something
Mustard - any French English etc
Hot sauces - very hot as mayo takes some of the heat out.
Jamaica jerk is a good one.
Avocado
Or mixture of above.

With a chicken and salad get a different version of lunch everyday

Going to try curry powder tomorrow.

HarlotsWeb · 03/11/2017 17:28

Ah really rshard? What caused you not to get through it? (Asking in the hope I can avoid the same pitfall.) I just searched in the App Store and found one that does sit ups, leg raises, planks and something else every day, building up the reps each day. And it gives you a little reminder to do it and you can tick it when done. Not that I am motivated by a nice row of ticks or anything :)

Rshard · 03/11/2017 17:32

Yeah afraid so. Not sure why we were rubbish tbh but my head is totally in the right place now so I might join you harlot. Perhaps we can motivate each other?

wombattoo · 03/11/2017 17:35

Congratulations Jim. I'm so glad you returned with a pic. You look stunning. I remember how doubtful you were that this woe would work. I know you have also worked hard with exercise but you have done so amazingly well. Congrats again Thanks

wombattoo · 03/11/2017 17:36

Jim I haven't seen your other thread, but sorry to hear fil, is poorly.

Cherrypi · 03/11/2017 17:41

Congratulations Jim! You look sparkling. Took nuts and had a large Americano with cream at the cinema. Did nick a little popcorn but not a lot.

Gammeldragz · 03/11/2017 17:49

harlots that app sounds like what I'm looking for for my lowvemer toning up goal. I am definitely motivated by rows of ticks (to the point of adding stuff I've already done to my to do list so I can cross more off!).

Made a lovely chicken and veg soup for dinner (with dumplings for everyone else). Made up for poor eating the rest of the day, for which I blame my period.

Brunch - toasted protein roll with peanut butter.
Snacks - chili peanuts, 50g. 'Bounty' pot (cream+dark choc, melted, stirred until smooth then added dessicated coconut).
Dinner - virtuous, domestic-goddess soup.

starsky22 · 03/11/2017 17:52

I've had my cholesterol test results back, my cholesterol is 5, which I'm worried is high, could it be down to this way of eating? I haven't had a previous test to compare them to. This is after 4 months of LCHF. These are the full results if anyone can help explain them:
Serum cholesterol 5mmol/L
Serum HDL 1.41 mmol/L
Serum cholesterol/HDL ratio 3.5
Serum triglycerides 0.7 mmol/L
Serum LDL 3.27
Se non HDL 3.6 mmol/L
Thanks!

Grimbles · 03/11/2017 18:04

5 isn't particularly high. The NHS considers 5 or less to be ok.

BrassicaBabe · 03/11/2017 18:36

Thanks for the onion bhaji links/recipes. I do have that book. Glad to hear I hadn’t dreamed it up.

It’s been a bad day for “proper” eating because I’ve been too busy
B mid morning snack pepperoni
L handful of macadamia nuts (think they are ok. Def high fat)
D will be pork curry and chicken kebab thingys

Will work harder on veg intake tomorrow.

Am I right in thinking that home made coleslaw is ok? Yes carrots and onions are higher carbs of the veggies, I think white cabbage is ok? But none of them equal pasta as long as I’m careful elsewhere?Hellmmans mayo is ok. Or is it all terrible?

Rshard · 03/11/2017 18:43

I’ve downloaded a 30 day challenge app too ragz, going to start in the morning

Today’s grub:
B - ff total yoghurt
L - tuna pate cucumber chicken breast sliced
D - buttery eggs salmon

Am going to friends house later, she is doing jackets and fillings and salad. So had my eggs earlier and will have some salad there. Love jacket potatoes so this is a test!

ilovecherries · 03/11/2017 19:36

Did a 24 hour fast today without really meaning to. Did get a coffee with cream from costa at the train station on the way home at 5 but that was my first all day. I'd have been collapsing and shovelling whatever I could get in the buffet down my throats in these circumstances a few months ago. Just had spicy lamb mince with sautéed cabbage and a litre of water. May have a piece of hotel chocolat 90% later if I feel like it.

[[30 Day Ab Challenge by 30 Day Fit Body by Jozic Productions Pty Ltd
itunes.apple.com/gb/app/30-day-ab-challenge-by-30-day-fit-body/id688314031?mt=8]] Is the app I am using! Love the idea of more of us doing it. I am being helped so much by the mutual WOE that hopefully mutual ab attention will have the same effect :)

HarlotsWeb · 03/11/2017 20:03

Also, fuck me, my abs are weak. I could only do 5 sit ups at a time to get to the 25.

prettybird · 03/11/2017 20:23

I can't do sit-ups at all Shock I've talked with my Pilates instructor and she agrees that part of my upper back is too "sticky". I either have to do them with my upper back raised before I start (her suggestion), or on my back with legs extended and arms by my sides with 1kg weights and then do roll ups and roll back downs, with my hands facing upwards as I do them.

ilovecherries · 03/11/2017 20:27

I've downloaded it harlot, but too knackered to work out how to use it tonight. But I'm up for it, my core is in shit condition.

TempusEejit · 03/11/2017 20:32

Made low carb Chinese for dinner instead of working on my uni assignments...need to find my studying mojo! Sweet and sour pork (coated with almond flour batter), egg fried cauli rice, and sesame prawn toasts made with thinly sliced Lidl protein roll for the base. Around 18g carbs for the lot. Took hours but was soooo worth it Grin

Week 4 - just got to KOKO
BlackMozart · 03/11/2017 20:41

Don’t know you Jim as I’m a newbie here but you look fantastic. I am trying to take inspiration from the stories of those who have lost 50lbs because I need to lose that. Today was out with a colleague doing some planning and working in a hotel lobby but luckily omelette and salad was on the menu and remarkably nice.
B in the car, Parma ham and Edam cheese, water
L omelette with cheese and ham and salad, coffee
D sausage, bacon, mushroom, egg
S cheese (Brie and cheddar) and 3 cherry tomatoes
Water, water, water

SayrraT · 03/11/2017 20:41

Good effort tempus!

Count me in for the ab challenge, just downloaded it.

Quick question. I have bought some m&s fresh non dairy coconut cream - 2.6g carbs per 100g. It tastes lovely but i’m Not quite sure what to do with it. Does anyone else use it?

Also my old bedlington terrier is having to spend the night at the vets for tests and on a drip. We will know the verdict tomorrow but it’s not looking good however I have not fallen head first into a bottle of red so that is a small NSV

SayrraT · 03/11/2017 20:59

You can use coconut cream in coffee, I'm sure someone on a previous BC did.

I used to use it to make coconut porridge with dessicated coconut and almond flour. Sorry can't give you quantities as I just use a wee cup to measure.
