Wow, Jim you look amazing!

Furry, interesting you've been sniffing the toast! I sniffed my home made chocolate and orange biscuits the other day (ds eats them). They used to smell gorgeous, but now they just smell a bit sweet. I wasn't in the least bit tempted to have one.

For me the key to avoiding bad lunch choices when in a rush is planning. I used to plan evening meals fairly well, even before low carbing, but lunch I just grabbed what was in (usually a carbwich). I now plan my lunches much more carefully.

Veryflummoxed · 03/11/2017 09:40

Jim I’ve been wondering when these photos were going to pop up.* You look absolutely bloody gorgeous. Many many congratulations. Look forward to having you (and those lovely dogs) back next bootcamp.*

ClearEyesFullHearts · 03/11/2017 10:08

What a coincidence, Jim. I was just posting about your "there is no wagon to fall off" inspirational speech last Bootcamp, and up you pop, looking resplendent!

Beautiful bride, beautiful couple, many congratulations. Wishing you and Mr Jim much happiness.

Kleptronic · 03/11/2017 10:21

I saw your other thread Jim but didn't want to Bootcamp it. You looked amazing, congratulations Flowers

TimeIhadaNameChange · 03/11/2017 10:49

Wow, Jim you look stunning! Congratulations!

I've had a wonderful week. Not so much wrt this woe (I won't mention the biscuits I ate for dinner last night!) but life in general, which, considering I was diagnosed with severe anxiety and signed off work is surprising. But DP's Toxic Friend has been away and life for him, and thus me, has been so much nicer. DP's been relaxed and able to get out in the garden, without having to go and run around after TF. He also decided to cut out the alcohol for a bit, which is so much easier when TF is not here, as he pours it down his throat. We had a wonderful weekend just pottering around the place without the spectre of TF in the background. It was also helped by the fact that last week I had a very enlightening chat with DP's young work colleague who told me that TF is worse than I'd thought, so I then had a chat with DP's boss (not totally bizarre, they work together) who has promised to try and help. So there is hope that things may improve. Only fly in the ointment is that TF is coming back at the weekend. Fingers crossed things don't go back to normal.

As for food, I'm planning a chilli tonight and for tomorrow. Rarely have mince but as DP's away I thought I'd indulge. Sunday won't be quite so good, though, as I'm insisting on having a bonfire with baked tatties and parched peas. But I've been looking forward to going traditional for ages, and it will be the first potatoes I've had in months. But then next week I'll be back on it and good as gold. I really would like to get my second stone off. Have been 6lbs away for ages, and I'm fully aware that going off piste is not helping, but if I can get it off my Christmas I'll be happy.

ASDismynormality · 03/11/2017 10:52

Congratulations jim Flowers

SayrraT · 03/11/2017 11:47

I had seen your other thread about FIL (well I assumed it was you), so glad you managed to change the date.

Looking forward to seeing you again in January.

Congratulations Jim.
And congrats to the pregnant bootcamper whose name I forgot already

Mimosa1 · 03/11/2017 12:28

Hello everyone and congratulations Jim! You look so pretty and happy in the photos.

Fuzzy, The Moroccan meal tonight sounds lovely but I know I'd struggle to stick to things if I hadn't had lunch and was really hungry when ordering.
If you're like me, you may want to consider having lunch after all.

Weight loss is slowing for me but the overall trend is good so I'm trying not to get impatient. I saw a new low today and hoping it sticks around for weigh in. Off to buy a few new work clothes today as i start work again in a few days. Eek! Hopefully, I've said goodbye to size 18 forever. I hope I find some things I feel good in even though I'm a long way from target.

CarbyDeadUn · 03/11/2017 12:42

Jim. You look absolutely beautiful. Congratulations.

YoLo. You are sadly very right.

FurryTurnip · 03/11/2017 12:53

Mimosa you are absolutely right, and I have eaten lunch now (boiled eggs) so I am not tempted to pile into the flatbreads!

I feel like I am teetering close to the edge today for the first time in 3 weeks - I think I have slipped into a too regular habit of a couple of squares of dark chocolate, and it's affecting my palate. I am quitting the habit from today- will allow myself some once a week!

TempusEejit · 03/11/2017 12:58

Jim you look absolutely beautiful. So sorry about your FIL.

Furry your tweak on the mascarpone recipe sounds amazing but very dangerous!! Will still be making it though Wink

Well done everyone on the SVs/NSVs!

CremeDeSudo · 03/11/2017 13:02

Congratulations @Jim and great to hear more inspiration!

So DH has offered to buy us a takeaway tonight, Indian. I was planning to have a tandoori chicken/chicken tikki starter with salad, but wondering if you knowledgeable lot might know of anything else I can have from an Indian? Can't remember the last time I had one so v excited!

FurryTurnip · 03/11/2017 13:16

Creme how about saag paneer? Loads of spinach, lovely paneer and cream - perfect for LCHF.

CremeDeSudo · 03/11/2017 13:25

I LOVE Saag Paneer Smile. Oooh this is exciting!

Thiswillbemyusername · 03/11/2017 13:43

Congrats on your wedding Jim Flowers

I tried some 85% chocolate today and it was rather lovely. Will have to be careful with it like a PP mentioned, don't want to get into the habit of eating too much

starsky22 · 03/11/2017 14:14

Congratulations Jim you look amazing!

SoMuchToBits · 03/11/2017 14:32

There's loads you can have from an Indian, Crème, as most main dishes have sauce which is high in fat but not thickened with flour. For accompaniments, I like Niramish (a mixed veg dish) and mushroom bhaji. Just make sure you avoid the rice, naans, chapatis and any dishes containing potato.

Almahart · 03/11/2017 15:12

Very excited to have bought spme mascarpone . Am going to try to make treats with peanut butter.

Grah0SoontobeaFitty · 03/11/2017 15:36

Hi all,

@ClearEyesFullHearts congratulations on the hook move
@HesDeadJim Hi Jim, looking good girl, hope you have a great and stress free future.

@Scabbersley have a glass of wine because you want to kick yourself out of ketosis, cause you want to stall or you're not committed to boot camp?

Just wondering why start a 70 day challenge that you spend days justifying not sticking to the challenge.

You followed the rules for day 1 of 70 why not day 1 of 45 ?
Only 45, such a short amount of time out of life.

70 days of sticking to the BC is not forever but it allows for changes to happen, to overcome habits, to make those life decisions easier because we saw good results.

Had a bug yesterday got on the scale and being a daily weigher, went from 197.8 to 193.1, expected to bounce back but was 194.1 this morning so fingers crossed the fever burnt of some fat cell water retention and it is really a drop into the 13st range.

ClearEyesFullHearts · 03/11/2017 16:14

Grah/ Gru , you have the most drastic weight fluctuations I've ever seen on these threads. It's rather interesting and I'm sure it's caused somewhat by your riding and your testosterone.

maybeitsbecauseim · 03/11/2017 16:16

grah wine is allowed at this stage of the bootcamp

prettybird · 03/11/2017 16:36

Grah - as I understand it, alcohol does not kick you out of ketosis per se (especially the low carb ones: gin or dry wine) but as an alternative source of energy, your body will choose that rather than fat burning.

So not good - but without the longer term backwards steps of a face plant into carbs.

But it is always good to remind us to focus on our long term goals! Smile I'm
finding it much easier this Boot Camp (and barely doing Boot Camp Lite) because dh is helping me by not putting temptation in my way.

Jiminy - you look fabulous FlowersFlowers. Thank you so much for coming back to tell us how you got on - I was just thinking yesterday about the fact that your wedding would have been about now.

I saw 12stone 10lb something this morning Grin You know, I might just manage to achieve my goal of breaking through 12stone into the 11stone somethings by Christmas! ShockGrin

FurryTurnip · 03/11/2017 17:03

Tempus and Alma enjoy the mascarpone treats! Luckily they are very rich and sickly so one or two do the job, and I only used a tiny bit of dark chocolate on top but made all the difference.

I also crumbled some of the non chocolatey stuff onto my Greek yogurt the other day and that was nice just for a bit of different texture.

HarlotsWeb · 03/11/2017 17:06

Spent all day yesterday in a conference without snacks to sustain me. Chose a Thai beef salad dish for lunch, which seemed the best of the options available (and was also a very teeny tiny bowl) but then really struggled in the long afternoon session and ended up eating two tiny pieces of shortbread. Gah. Anyway, today...

B mortadella sausage
L ff yoghurt
S olives and 2 squares of dark choc
D pork chop, roast celeriac, green beans

Water has been a disaster today so will see how many glasses I can drink tonight.
