Morning everyone Smile as BIWI is away I have the honour of starting the week 4 thread.

I going to give you all the usual reminder that in week 4 it is PERFECTLY NORMAL for weight loss to stall. So you may sts or even see a gain.

Do not panic! Just KOKO Smile

Sorry that would be Sayrra

BlackMozart · 03/11/2017 21:03

Or even Sayrra hopefully this time without the asterisks

prettybird · 03/11/2017 21:08

BlackMozart - we've talked previously on these threads on the need to have "small" goals as well as long term goals.

I've lost 30 and a bit if you believe this morning's scales figure pounds since the end of May but still have another 32 to go to reach my target (target date of 16 May next year - my 20th wedding anniversary). But at the moment, I'd be happy with breaking the 12stone barrier by Christmas. (And if I "only" succeed in continuing my 1-2lb/week average, I'll be happy as it means my skin can keep up )

I've also taken measurements and am teaming those - only from the middle of August, so I'm not able to judge the difference from the start.

Ilovecherries - I was under 11 stone only 4 years ago Shock so it's not outwith my ken. Might have been slightly over as at the time I was weighing on a "generous" spot of the bathroom floor which gifted me an illusory at least 7lb Hmm

I am now weighing on a consistent - and as far as I can make out, accurate - spot of the bathroom floor Grin

Ultimate target is 10stone 8lb - back into "3 digits" with a pound's leeway - and back within normal BMI albeit at the top end (recognising the limitations of BMI Wink)

TempusEejit · 03/11/2017 21:13

BlackMozart I hope your dog is ok Flowers

BlackMozart · 03/11/2017 22:00

Thanks Tempus
Prettybird my 25th wedding anniversary is beginning of June so whilst I won’t lose 50lbs by then I could be well on the way. I am starting to get my head around slow loss 😊

wombattoo · 03/11/2017 23:36

BlackMozart I hope your dog is ok. Thanks
Can I just say that I have noticed in your posts that you seem to eat quite a bit of processed foods.
Parma ham, bacon, sausage etc. If you are losing, then fine, however you might find later that your weight stalls. If that happens then I recommend that you cut out the processed stuff. Just something to watch out for.

Scabbersley · 04/11/2017 00:43

B:coffee with cream
L: cheese, water, greek yogurt
D: chicken and spinach curry

a good half a bottle of white wine! Absolutely shit news today and dh and i sat and commiserated and ended up giggling over a bottle of wine which made us feel better. I've had a month off the booze which has made me look and feel better so we'll see how this is going to go...

Veryflummoxed · 04/11/2017 06:54

@BlackMozart Flowers
@Scabbersley Flowers

My food was interesting yesterday. Hadn’t shut the freezer door the night before. DH rescued the meat, having a fire work party tonight so that will be used. I rescued the Brussels sprouts. So

Lunch butter fried sprouts
Dinner meatballs with a touch of passata and butter fried Brussels sprouts.

Today’s meals will consist of butter fried sprouts, more butter fried sprouts and probably a sausage or two.

Veryflummoxed · 04/11/2017 07:18

@BrassicaBabe hm coleslaw fine. There is a recipe on the thread I think which gives the carb content. I use Helmans for mine. Also I swap the onion for shallot and the carrot for celeriac (and I think it might then be called something else going on something said the other week) it’s good.

Scabbersley · 04/11/2017 07:43

So not surprisingly I've woken up with a banging headache!

I've really got to do something about my anxiety. It is through the roof at the moment. :-/

CarbyDeadUn · 04/11/2017 08:12

Howdy Campers.

I have a weekend off! Until tomorrow night anyway. WHich is almost a weekend off.

I need to do some planning and shopping and preparing next week meals. Not sure what to cook. I'm rapidly going off meat.

Apart from that I have no plans beyond crochet and Netflix and a walk if it stops raining.

WHat plans do the Bootcampers have? Anything exciting?

Hippadippadation · 04/11/2017 08:14

Brassica there's a BC coleslaw recipe on the recipe thread.

BlackMozart I have had coconut cream in coffee before, it's very nice.

My pork belly stir fry last night was extremely spicy! My stomach blew right up and I had terrible wind (TMI) but it did cause a "movement" this morning, haha. There's some left over, but I think I'll leave it for DH.

Still feeling delicate this morning so not sure what I'm eating today. Maybe omelette for one meal? DH and DD1 are going to the fireworks later (she's made a miraculous recovery from yesterday) so I'll be on my own later, may just end up snacking on crudites etc.

FurryTurnip · 04/11/2017 08:18

Well I survived the Moroccan set menu but not unscathed.... Avoided all flat bread, cous cous and the pudding, but it was still way more carby than I'd hoped. Falafel starter and the main course veg tagine was all root veg. And a glass of red wine but that was a conscious decision, my first boot camp booze, and I really enjoyed it.

Definitely noticed the impact of carbs on my body. I was erm..very windy last night, also woke up twice in the night absolutely starving, proper painful hunger pangs.

Going hardcore for the rest of the weekend, as the scales this morning showed a great new low, and want to keep it there.

Have a good weekend, avoiding toffee apples and baked potatoes!

BrassicaBabe · 04/11/2017 08:22

Thanks @Veryflummoxed and @Hippadippadation for the coleslaw direction Smile

Just had leftover homemade chicken kebab thingy. Dull and dried out. Disappointing. Hey ho.

HarlotsWeb · 04/11/2017 08:46

Do you know what's triggered the anxiety, scabberskey? Or is it generalised?

ChinchillaFur · 04/11/2017 08:47

Happy Saturday everyone.

Jim I don't know you as am a newbie but just wanted to say you looked amazing in those photos! 5 1/2 stone is seriously impressive. Well done. Very inspirational.

Think have started losing again after my holiday carb fest. Definitely back into fat burning mode (no hunger, smaller meals, fewer BMs!). Have my fingers crossed for a good number on the scales on Monday.

Today we are going to the Halloween thing at Castle Howard, near York. Spooky stuff in the old burnt out wing! Hope it's not too scary for DD (8) as she is a bit of a wuss. Will likely go into York later on for some food and a bit of shopping. May go for bunless burger, or possibly an omelette. Have found LC fairly easy this week and still feel very motivated. Have had 2 dippy eggs with soldiers made of half a LIDL protein roll with lashings of butter. Was divine.

Hope all the poorly people/children perk up for the weekend.

Scabbersley · 04/11/2017 08:47

harlotsweb I've always been prone to it but its got tons worse - ironically while I've not been drinking and on this WOE!

Not sure if theres anything specific its just generally. I'm permanantely convinced my pets (horses) and kids and dh and me are going to get seriously ill Hmm

StuntNun · 04/11/2017 08:51

I have lunch at a Lebanese restaurant today. Any tips for low carb Lebanese food?

FinallyHere · 04/11/2017 08:52

Coming a bit late to the party here, so apologies...

herbs and spices to perk up spinach, Grimbles, some time you might like to try nutmeg with butter on spinach.

I so agree with ClearEyes that removing the fear, allowing yourself to eat anding you want and then actively choosing to eat HFLC because you feel better is the way to go. My strongest defence against the doughnuts which so often are left out at work for a 'treat' is to promised myself i can have one later if i really want it. I'm also convinced that this is how 'naturally thin, but i eat everything' people operate, to be at ease around food without overeating.

There is so much more to catch up on, on this lovely, fast moving supportive thread. Got to go and do 'real life' now, shall be back this evening. KOKO everyone.

Hippadippadation · 04/11/2017 09:08

Stunt schwarma (sp?) without the flatbread, fattoush salad - leave the pitta, baba ganoush, ;abneh (yoghurt dip, shish kebab on skewers, kofta, kebbe lakteen (sp? this includes pumpkin, so might be seasonal, haha), stuffed lamb (dele mehshi or something it's called). I love lebanese, it's my favourite cuisine.

prettybird · 04/11/2017 09:22

Veryflummoxed - re all your brussels, I've taken to microwaving plenty in butter, seasoning them well and then having them for snacks during the day Shock They almost taste like a sweet treat to me Confused

Thiswillbemyusername · 04/11/2017 09:33

Morning all. I am off today relatives today but they're aware of my low-carb WOE so food shouldn't be a problem. We like to have a glass of wine together but she only drinks dry white wine. Looking forward to fireworks and bonfire tonight

Rshard · 04/11/2017 09:37

Morning all

Am intrigued by microwaved Brussels - how long for? Butter on for cooking or after?

prettybird · 04/11/2017 09:50

Brussels in bowl, slab of butter on top of them. Cover (I've stopped using cling film where I can and just use a side plate). Microwave for 2 plus minutes (just depends on how quickly I turned the timer Grin). Shoogle. Microwave for another 2 minutes. Season.

In my microwave (a combi one, supposedly 800W but I've never for the sense that it's that strong), that results in brussels that are still al dente (also depends on how many I've been doing). I prefer them firmer rather than mushy - especially if having them cold as snacks later.

Cauliflower florets are done in the same way.

Rshard · 04/11/2017 09:57

Thanks pretty, I’ll be giving those a go!
