Good morning Flowers

So the last thread reached 1000 posts. I don't think that's ever happened on any other Bootcamp! It's a really good sign that everyone is engaged in the process, even if it's not always been from a positive place. If things aren't working for you, please keep reading and posting - even if you just lurk, hopefully the support and advice here will be helpful for you.

But it's a glorious day again, and the sun is shining brightly already and the birds are singing their hearts out. I hope that this translates into positivity and optimism for all of us this week - even if you've been struggling!

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

We're past the dreaded weeks 4 and 5 now, so hopefully things will start to get going in the right direction, and you should see the weight move downwards - assuming, of course, that you aren't cheating or allowing carb creep.

Good luck everyone

Oh mercy me it's hot, I can't make any food because of the massive Aga in my kitchen, I love my Aga nearly all year round but when it's this hot I would normally switch it off and just
BBQ stuff and chuck a salad together. This year we have no BBQ and I'm stuck in a plastic body cast when I'm not in bed. I can't even be in the kitchen for more than a few minutes before sweat is running down my back front and in between so I'm lying in my underwear in the bedroom with a pathetic fan on.

I can only take the cast off when I'm sitting still or lying down, if I had the energy I'd go and have a cold bath. To make it even worse my PA is on holiday this week and DH goes to USA on business on Thursday.

Food has been difficult today so I've eaten

6 small low carb sausages, a salad.
Total yogurt
A few blueberries and blackberries

Naschkatze · 19/06/2017 17:28

Yolo Thanks - don't know why I didn't think of nut butter. I've got a jar of peanut but once it's finished I'll look for the mixed type. Sounds good! I had a spoon of coconut oil, tiny piece of cheese (10g) and made myself a sparkling fruit tea drink which seems to have worked.

JiminnyCricket · 19/06/2017 17:33

Anyone else totally lost their appetite in the heat??

Planned ready smoked salmon for lunch and salad but only managed half the fillet before I gave up! Hmm

Bit concerned because I have my training session in an hour... maybe a spoon of peanut butter??

AdalindSchade · 19/06/2017 17:35

Dinner - cauliflower cheese made with cream and cheddar, butter fried courgetti with a dollop of peri peri sauce and cucumber dressed with olive oil. Not pictured - 3 slices of halloumi Blush

Congrats to all the losers! Sts this week. Have stuck to the plan, and feel much better and more in control on this woe, so I'm ok with that. Hoping for a whoosh next week though.

Bibs2014 · 19/06/2017 17:57

I've lost half a pound Smile

sheepysheep · 19/06/2017 17:59

Jimminy I quite often go out running / cycling early in the morning and a (table) spoon of peanut butter (and another of cream if I'm feeling really greedy) is my pre workout fuel of choice! The theory is that being fat adapted we don't need the fuel because we have lots in our bodies but I find that psychologically it's nice to have had a tasty snack first. Good luck with your session - I'm super envious and really chuffed for you for getting on the training programme 👍

Giraffeski · 19/06/2017 17:59

2.2 lb on which I expected- its my carry twatdom of LAST weekend catching up with me. Ive been really on it all week so hopefully onwards and upwards!
NSV though, I can fasten up lots of trousers I haven't been able to for at least a year so I have had a bit of inspiration.
I have a new goal-Ive bought this skirt in a size 12 and its about an inch and a half from the top away from zipping up. I want to wear it to a wedding at the end of July so Im going to aim for that. Ill take a selfie of myself in it if I remember when the kids are in bed, and every week until I can zip it up!
I did briefly consider sending it back and getting a 14 but I think that would be giving up, and I do have five weeks until I want to wear it.

Veryflummoxed · 19/06/2017 18:15

Lunch. Bolognaise with cauliflower and brocolli
Followed by FF yogurt, cream and raspberries. First time I've done this as I'm trying to stick to BC not light. But it was lovely.

Dinner. Pork chop with Parmesan. Mushrooms. Runner beans. Butter.

YoLoZammo · 19/06/2017 18:30

Today's food log:

B : 3 chipolatas and 2 hard boiled eggs with some mayo. Definitely too much. Was forcing it down. Why did I do that? Didn't want to feel hungry before lunch. Mantra: Must stop eating when full!!

L: at 3pm because I wasn't hungry until then. Did have 2 creamy coffees in the morning though. 1 was iced which was bliss. Lunch was leftover pork belly and veg from yesterday's dinner. Was a smaller portion than I ate last night and it filled me up for lunch. See, I'm learning!

S: 1 slice of corned beef with a scraping of Branston pickle (I know not lc but it's literally a tiny scraping of flavour and the combo is to die for) and a rollito. May well have a teaspoon of nut butter later if I feel hungry after dinner/before bed. It's often a craving to take the taste of dinner out of my mouth. Does anyone else get this? A creamy decaf coffee also does the trick.

D: will be cod fillet baked or fried with some spices on, and a leafy salad. Just loving the salad leaves right now! Esp those I grow myself. I always found them miserable before bc. Now they are tasty and nutritious Confused. Prob also some cucumber and coleslaw with it.

I bought ice creams for people at work today, and didn't have any myself, despite it being 35° in our office. Small victories Smile

CodLiverOil556 · 19/06/2017 18:32

NSV for me, went to McDonalds with the kids and had a plain hamburger without the bun and a salad.

That would not have happened before this woe, I'm really focused and only 1/2 a pound from being in the 10 stone bracket. I've not been in the 10s for years.

Just gearing up to do Insanity day 7, did race for life yesterday and walk/ran the 5km as it was rest day from insanity.

Might do the shred after insanity because I quite like Jillian Michaels.

Love reading about your losses and feel really supported in this woe (even more so than claptastic SW)

ragz134 · 19/06/2017 19:15

Cherrypi I also aim to be lighter than my husband, he is a few inches shorter which makes it harder, but I am onlyut about 10lbs off now.
Went swimming (outdoor pool, unheated, it was bliss) with the kids, we were there 4 hours though not in the water all that time and I was supervising my 7 year old so didn't do a huge amount of proper swimming, but definitely moved around a lot. I was most pleased with myself for happily strutting about with my huge thighs slapping, as my size 8 SIL moaned about getting her nonexistent flabby bits out and kept covering up with shorts. I have worked hard for my 30lbs loss and was pleased to show it off even if I am still half a stone over a healthy BMI.

1pm - Rodillos (chorizo wrapped around cheese. Aldi) and olives. 4 cocktail sausages, 5 cherries and 5 strawberries.
6:30pm - 1/4lb burger, stir fried cabbage and deep fried courgette with a little cheddar cheese and tbsp mayo. I served myself 2 burgers but only ate one Halo

HemanOrSheRa · 19/06/2017 19:17

I am literally melting in this heat. Dyson fan is very good but like air con the heat hits harder when you move out of The Zone. Argh. I have cooked chicken portions for dinner. I portioned up a whole chicken yesterday after DP announced he wanted to BBQ. He didn't cook it as we had enough food. I am happy to wait until it cools down a bit. DS was hungry though so I cooked the portions in my Instant Pot then blasted them in the oven to make them look more palatable but to minimise oven time. DS has eaten his because he is 12 and HUNGRY. I haven't because I'm 45 and perimenopausal and Low Carbing ConfusedGrin.

Grah0SoontobeaFatty · 19/06/2017 19:18

Namaste Bitches! well done everyone for KOKO - Day 1 of 35

no one cheats on Day 1- do they....

Well a loss over the week but some interesting weights over the weekend.
Saturday got up emptied, weight = 214.7
have breakfast, ride 78 miles, over fairly flat terrain but into a head wind, ( have lunch about halfway) -- 7 hours later get home 214.2. (4250 calories used according monitor)
Go out drink eat.

Come home -- weight 220.5lb Shock

Breakfast and lunch was a combination of 4 eggs 3oz of cheddar, 3oz red pepper made in to 2 omelets and 2 Butter coffees and a table spoon of coconut oil at least. plus 3 liters of water

Evening meal was Dry Ribs, Chicken Wings and 3 pints of water with a slice lime squeezed into it.
Dressing on the Chicken wings is an very hot spicy, no added sugar etc. Ribs just the Salt and Pepper rub.

I was 217lb this morning but wasn't much happening in the emptying department.

So numbers on the scale are always misleading and are never very accurate, so please don't get disappointed if your numbers at a particular moment in time don't match your expectations for a weeks worth of effort.

As others have shown we are a fluid based entity and prone to changes in retention rates.

Jim
Spinning as a great sweat loss been twice, need to get the nerve up to join a class rather than just doing my own thing.
hope you had fun getting in the rhythm.

BIWI · 19/06/2017 19:37

There's no point weighing yourself at the end of the day - all you will be doing is weighing yourself plus what you've eaten and drunk!

RubyGoat · 19/06/2017 19:39

DH has just made some of these for me. They are rather delicious. (But take a while in the oven...) I don't personally think they need extra salt at the end, they are just perfectly salty from the brine IMO.

Walked about 8.5km today, apparently. Not too bad in this heat wave.

Giraffeski · 19/06/2017 19:47

Here's pictures of the outfit from front and back. Hopefully I can look a bit less like i'm bursting out of it by 29th July!

Naschkatze · 19/06/2017 19:48

Had to change our plans for dinner because it's too hot to cook, no way was I turning on the oven!

B - Coconut cream iced coffee
S - two slices ham
L - Salad with chicken mayo, half avocado.
S - coconut oil, small piece of cheese. (I need to throw the cheese away!) Fruit tea in sparkling water. Coffee with almond milk.
D - Salad with crispy bacon, feta and avocado.

A lot of water. All in all, too much processed food today and not a huge variety of veg. Dinner was meant to be cauliflower cheese and swede chips Hmm NB. always check the weather forecast when meal planning.

Naschkatze · 19/06/2017 19:49

Grah0SoontobeaFatty · 19/06/2017 19:51

BIWI I know, but isn't if fun to see how much doing nothing but sleep and letting your body process that fluid through. Then it's all gone in the morning. well some mornings more than others.

Doing a 296 to 204 to 231 to 207 to 229 roller coaster ride of weight changes. I know what puts it on ( carbs in fluids or solids) stopping those the weight falls off.

I know if I stay in boot camp I'll get down to below 200 and if I don't it will be my fault not this WOE. I also know after a long ride I gain weight while the body stores ready for the next one, a whoosh will happen around Thursday this week, maybe. Then ready for my 100 mile ride next week ( Wind willing).

Asmoto · 19/06/2017 19:55

Your outfit is lovely, Giraffe.

CaptainBraandPants · 19/06/2017 19:56

More great losses, well done everyone and also to those who haven't lost weight, but inches.

RedBeanie this crackers have 47g carb/ 100g, so no, really not suitable. What about making your own flax crackers if you want a bit of crunch?
Way of the world I've downloaded that 7 min workout app and done it this evening. Slightly disconcerting to be doing the plank whilst the dog was trying to lick my face. Grin I'm going to try and do it most mornings. I was going to go for a run this evening, but it's far too hot.
Giraffe lovely skirt and a good goal to aim for.

Had pan fried salmon with buttered tender stem broccoli and the aubergine fritters mentioned somewhere. The fritters were nice, but a bit bland. I think next time I will add some chilli flakes into the almond flour.

PlymouthMaid1 · 19/06/2017 19:58

Is this enough fat in my day (I find this hard to judge), had Greek yog and a few berries for breakfast, almond milk coffee, tuna salad with about 3tbs of mayo, almond milk tea, tuna steak with pesto and courgettes cooked in olive oil with swede chips and parmesan sprinkle. So far 2 litres water.not sure if I should have a creamy coffee or I have had enough fat? Also, is butter coffee just butter in coffee?

BIWI · 19/06/2017 20:02

@RedBeanie - if you can find the link to the product, why don't you scroll through the information to find the carb count?

They are way too carby for Bootcamp.

Feeling rubbish. Taking my fan to bed.

B: fasting
L: sausage, bacon, fried egg, mushrooms, spinach
D: tuna salad with olive oil, raspberries and cream
S: none
W: not nearly enough, but still drinking.
