Good morning Flowers

So the last thread reached 1000 posts. I don't think that's ever happened on any other Bootcamp! It's a really good sign that everyone is engaged in the process, even if it's not always been from a positive place. If things aren't working for you, please keep reading and posting - even if you just lurk, hopefully the support and advice here will be helpful for you.

But it's a glorious day again, and the sun is shining brightly already and the birds are singing their hearts out. I hope that this translates into positivity and optimism for all of us this week - even if you've been struggling!

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

We're past the dreaded weeks 4 and 5 now, so hopefully things will start to get going in the right direction, and you should see the weight move downwards - assuming, of course, that you aren't cheating or allowing carb creep.

Good luck everyone

If you're suffering from water retention, odd though it may seem, the best thing to do is to drink more water.

But don't forget your electrolytes - keep the salt levels up if you're increasing your water intake

Mandelinka I don't rate level 2 of the shred at all. I think she nailed it with level 1 and I prefer to stay on that for longer, working my way up to the harder versions of some exercises and increase the hand weights. I also start doing some of the aerobic exercises while holding a light weight.

feekerry · 19/06/2017 12:46

So 2lbs back on for my on/off attitude to this. To be expected. 2 weeks of strict bc for me

ClearEyesFullHearts · 19/06/2017 13:07

style, I won't give up. Didn't even consider it, but thanks. Smile

It's just very frustrating to see a massive gain when I ^know this works, I know it works for me, and I know I'm doing it right.

This ain't my first trip to the rodeo. Wink

ChesterDrawers · 19/06/2017 13:07

Well done to everyone for some great losses, even though it's week 4 and KOKO to anyone struggling.

0.5lb off for me this week, happy with that as I've had a few wines over the weekend. Sure I'm retaining water in the heat and have upped the exercise and aching today so assuming muscles are retaining fluid too?!

Food has been spot on even though I've eaten out twice and been pretty badly prepared the other times. Off to the supermarket tonight so dinner is once again a bit up in the air.

Just had a chicken, avocado and mayo salad but feeling a bit queasy now. Not sure if I overdid the mayo Sad

Ha ha, I knew you'd say that, BIWI!. Of course you're right, but I'm already at 3 litres per day and surely I should allow myself some time to not be pissing? Grin

Seriously, though, I'll up the water and take heed of salt (though I salt anything that isn't moving...) Grin

ClearEyesFullHearts · 19/06/2017 13:10

That 3 litres should have said 4.

Mandelinka · 19/06/2017 13:12

Thank you for clarifying the keto state, your knowledge is admirable
I might have experienced what you described last week, I felt jittery and unwell
out of nowhere, it lasted only for couple of days. Also developed the keto rash, that's going as well Smile

Nashkatze
Don't rush your weight loss while BF, I stopped BF completely about 6 months ago when DS was nearly 3 and half. After stopping I felt my body was really thrown by it, I guess all the hormonal changes. Finally now I feel I'm again in control of my body and can fully concentrate on loosing weight and feel well.

TheWayOfTheWorld · 19/06/2017 13:12

Hhm, the 1/2lb overnight may be explained by the fact my period has just appeared. Thank god I am WFH today Blush

On exercise stuff, I have been a couple of things which don't take long to do but are definitely having an effect:

  1. the 7 min app. 30 secs of exercise followed by 10 sec rest. Has lunges, squats, press-ups, planks, tricep dips etc etc.

  2. 30 day squat/lunge/press-up challenge. Started doing 10 a day and building up to 40 a day.

I do the 7 mins 3-4x a week in the morning before work, the squat challenge I do in the evening. I can definitely notice the difference.

I used to go to the time etc but recently I've been really struggling: I don't have time to go in the morning before work, getting out during work hours is very tricky and if I get out at a decent time I want to go home and see my children.

So I decided to try for little and often and am pretty chuffed with how it has been going over the past few weeks.

I have also taken up running again. I stopped a couple of years ago due to injury but a friend has started training using the run-walk-run method - this is for doing 5k, 10k, half marathons etc, so planned walk breaks throughout. Really enjoying it again Smile

hippadoppaloppagorillapig · 19/06/2017 13:24

style I don't run in the heat!

Stunt I agree about level 2 of the shred. I prefer the cardio on level 2, but the strength on level 1.

Just having some leftover kebab from our bbq yesterday with a shedload of salad and some bootcamp coleslaw. It's heavenly.

PlymouthMaid1 · 19/06/2017 13:31

No change for me. May have to address the dairy issue but think it could make my diet very boring as I don't eat meat and have to make myself eat eggs twice a week as not a fan. Will koko for now as know what to try if things continue to say the same. Well done losers!

Mandelinka · 19/06/2017 13:33

TheWayOfTheWorld
Thanks for the excercise tips. I've just downloaded the 7 min app. I haven't been in the App Store that long, that's my card has expired. I don't have to feel bad about spending money on excercise, I know I will use it on days when can't face shred or jogging. I used to do the squat challenge and it really lifted my but.

HemanOrSheRa · 19/06/2017 13:42

Sweet mercy. It's HOT. I have bitten the bullet and bought a dyson fan. Just sat in front of it cooling down before contemplating what to eat. Will definitely be salad with some addition of protein and fat. Oof!

Mandelinka · 19/06/2017 13:42

Today is my day off ( back at work tomorrow) and I'm enjoying the time with my DS. He's been in his paddling pool and I managed to do some food prep for the week while watching him.
I really didn't feel like it, but forced myself to Shred. The first 5 minutes are always the worst, but once I get going, it's great!

B/L: fried mushrooms, courgette and salami in coconut oil. Egg. The oil is actually runny its that hot!
D: possibly Wagamama. It's husbands favourite restaurant and we haven't been for a while.

Lots and lots of water.

The other day when we had friends over for BBQ and when everybody was having beer or wine, I made up myself a drink out of fruit tea infused sparkling water with dash of vodka. It was lovely! I had only 1 drink that evening, everybody else got really drunk....
I felt wonderful and rather smug the next day Wink

Mandelinka · 19/06/2017 13:47

My veggie soup ( celery, onion, cauliflower, spinach, small sweet potatoe). This will make 4-5 dinners, will have to cook something else for the rest of the family. But at least my food is taken care off
The green bowl is 'riced' cauliflower, broccoli, celery and spring onion. I'm having this tomorrow as a raw salad with some haloumi. I may try it also as a fried cakes with some mozzarella.
I'm having an affair with my new kitchen processor and love experimenting Blush

Well done everyone! And for those who haven't lost just KOKO, it will work and you'll feel fab :-)

I've stayed the same but that's fine. I've been around 10st since this time last year. My BMI is around 22 so it's hard to lose more weight. I don't really want to but I'd like to redistribute it! No boobs, no arse, and a swim ring around my gut Shock. I've a nasty feeling that I may have to give up the creamy coffees - I tried jimminy's coco cream coffees and they are nice but the coconut cream seems quite pricey. Mind you with this hot weather coffee is losing its appeal.

Anyone feeling despondent - I started off at nearly 80kg end December 2015, got to 63kg by June 2016 and have stayed there since. My body shape has changed a lot in this time even if my weight hasn't. And the whole time I've been eating cream, butter, fat and always been full and happy. At the start I got lots of "are you sure this is healthy?" type comments .... now it's "oh people like you make me sick you can eat anything and not put weight on, it's so unfair"....

KOKO!!!

sheepysheep · 19/06/2017 14:23

Oh and Maldon now make a smoked salt! I bought some this morning and its gorgeous...

SayrraT · 19/06/2017 14:30

Signing in! So this is the start of my "reset"!

I weigh 218lbs (1 lb on). I am aiming to be 210lbs by the end of this bootcamp. I am going to do this with healthy food and exercise. I will feel even more amazing than I already do when I lose more weight.

Losing weight will make pole easier and it will be better for Larry (my horse) when I am lighter.

dustmotesinthesun · 19/06/2017 15:07

Smoked salt sounds amazing!!

Some great losses here. ASD wow at you. Amazing. Big well done.

Jiminny i pity you. That's really all I can say Grin good luck coming out alive

I have access to scales tomorrow so will weigh then. Not expecting a loss after a bad month but next month will be different.

Brekkie was eggs, strawberries and coconut cream and a few pork scratchings
Lunch was chicken with mayo and salad with a few more pork scratchings and a small handful of monkey nuts. Oh and half an avo. Maybe a bit too much food?

MaryThorne · 19/06/2017 15:24

Afternoon all, catching up with the thread (very busy again Grin). Well done to all those who've lost and KOKO everyone else.

I've gained 1lb which is no great surprise with AF and (I'm reliably informed by Stunt) the ability of my intense new workout regime to promote water retention. I'm loving 21 Day Fix by the way, day 7 today and I'm doing Yoga Fix later on which should be more chilled. Good job as I had my regular personal training session this morning (oh the heat...!!) and was put through my paces with a load of burpees, star jumps and stair climbers. I was pleased with myself afterwards despite not enjoying it at the time Grin

My key focus this week is to cut back on the dairy, I've been having loads and I think it's likely that's where the problem lies. I've got a blood ketone monitor which I use on and off and I tested today and it was 2.7mmol which is properly into nutritional ketosis- first time it's been that high since February and way higher than any other time this bootcamp! Smile

Naschkatze · 19/06/2017 16:09

Thanks Mandelinka. I'm constantly swinging between loving my body for growing and feeding a beautiful baby and wanting to be skinny again - now! I am trying to sensible about it though. I feel healthier on this WOE though and my appetite is much more stable, so will KOKO.

Weird day again food wise. Very little appetite this morning, so just had iced coffee with coconut cream. Also didn't have lunch until nearly 3pm. But now I'm starving! Struggling to think of/find a snack that isn't cheese or cream.

Flibbertyjibbit · 19/06/2017 16:15

Congrats on all the losses, i'm on day 8 of staying the same on the scales, but I did measure my waist this morning and I've lost 4 inches since I started 3 weeks ago.

Asmoto · 19/06/2017 16:35

Another 1lb week for me. I'm fine with that Grin.

ilovecherries · 19/06/2017 17:13

Ugh. Just spent 4 hours driving in the car - and on my own with the dog so stopping at a motorway service station wasn't really an option in the heat. No access to toilets meant sig reducing my water. Feeling dehydrated, cross and grumpy. Sitting now with a litre bottle of chilled water and two paracetamol.

YoLoZammo · 19/06/2017 17:14

nasch I find a teaspoon of whole earth multi nut butter hits the spot when I crave a snack, and it's non dairy. They do one which is peanut, walnut and something else (pecan?) and it's lower carb than just peanut and there is no added sugar.
