Morning all - lovely sunny day here!

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness for your confessions

It sounds like some of us have been struggling recently, so I hope that the scales have been kind to you this morning.

If the scales aren't your friend, then don't forget to take your measurements, or to try on that dress/those jeans that were too tight 5 weeks ago - the results here are more meaningful than the scales anyway.

I put some new trousers on yesterday that I bought a couple of weeks ago, and find that they are now too big. Which is both pleasing and annoying at the same time Grin

I'm sneaking in. Not a boot camper but a sort of low carber (21lbs down)
Courgette spaghetti stuff. Grab a box grater and turn it on its side (I'll find a link)
I fried pancetta cubes, then added the courgette and cooked. Stirred in creme fraiche and grated Parmesan

goodasitgets · 10/06/2015 15:28

Here you go, with handy GIF and recipe. Bin the peas and add some bacon Grin

dum the celeriac dauphinoise sounds delish, will try it when I can get decent one back in the UK. Sorry to hear you are down, keep on going.

I think the celeriac are just crap here at the moment (as had a similar one a few weeks ago) rather than cooking method as made the bravas before and was luverly. It was a small one, not sure if that makes them more woody but honestly it was exactly like eating a stick! Good job there was plenty of fat in the rest of the meal to fill us up although we did have a celebratory sq of dark choc afterwards as booked our one way flights to make our return - yay!

HemanOrSheRa · 10/06/2015 16:59

Argghhh! I've had a disaster of a day. I'm so pissed off with myself I'm almost in tears. I reckon I was on target to move down into the next stone bracket next week and I think I've blown it.

I've been in training all day and succumbed to the temptation of very bad things a colleague brought in. Bollocks Sad. Normal foodwise I've been fine.

What do I do now? Drink loads of water? Eat loads of fat?

B - BPC and hard boiled eggs eaten/drunk in the car.

L - Greek salad, mixed leaves, oily dressing (homemade not shop bought).

D - Chicken breast wrapped in bacon with melted cheese, courgetti, mushrooms fried in butter.

Not enough water. Not really practical to keep going for a wee today.

I shall be trying that technique for my courgetti, thanks good.

ditavonteesed · 10/06/2015 17:39

thanks BIWI that was really interesting, I have to say I have definatly seen an increase in my athletic (thats a joke) ability and can now run 5k but the recovery takes no time at all.

I have had a great day and still not hungry, my bpc filled me up well till lunch, had my baby bel and strawberries I had taken with me and my friend went to the canteen for our usual treat (I wont say what it is), when we got there they had roast gammon so I had that and didnt miss my treat at all.

Herman I am worrying about the water when I start placement in a week, at the moment I can go to the loo hourly but if I do that on a ward they will think I am a right plonker. I managed 3 x 800ml bottles of water at uni so already well on the way to my allowance. I find I am a lot more thirsty on this woe.

ewanhoozami · 10/06/2015 18:16

HeMan don't be so hard on yourself. At least you got it over in one hit rather than grazing on bad shit all day. Your body will only produce the insulin once.

Just get back on it as you've described & lots of water.

ewanhoozami · 10/06/2015 18:20

B - bone broth and dripping
L - bresaola, avocado, grilled artichoke
D - dill, mushroom and courgette fritatta.

I had coffee with milk in today, breaking my dairy-free run. A month is good though! And I was at a toddler group so caffeine was definitely required, soy milk or no soy milk

LexLoofah · 10/06/2015 18:29

heman I don't know what to suggest re: fat but more water is never a bad idea. It is just one blip, just one day, no point beating yourself up. Move on and see if you can analyse why you were tempted and if you can come up with a strategy to avoid doing so next time the same situation rolls around again as inevitably it will.

HemanOrSheRa · 10/06/2015 18:43

I know why I was tempted. I didn't want to feel like the stupid fatty who is on a 'diet' yet again. I feel ridiculous. I gave up alcohol in January because I have a problem with it. I refuse offers of booze all the bloody time with no qualms whatsoever. My colleagues know. They wouldn't have batted an eye at me refusing sweet stuff.

Well, lesson learned. I've started to feel really ill - almost hungover Sad.

LexLoofah · 10/06/2015 18:53

B - some leftover fried chorizo, 2 eggs fried in butter (a really nice combo), cuppa, creamy coffee
L - 3 sb eggs, hm mayo, bit of bacon, lettuce
D - will be lamb meatballs, scant amount of hm buttery tomato sauce, courgetti, parmesan

I picked up some pork chops at lunchtime as coated and fried sounds ace meal for one night next week. DH is going to be away so plotting lots of things he hates like salmon and if I feel like it on the day might give skipping dinner another go

HemanOrSheRa · 10/06/2015 19:02

I had a pork chop, bashed out, coated in parmesan last night Lex. It was lovely.

Thank you Lex and ewan for the pep talk! Smile

Preminstreltension · 10/06/2015 20:11

Bit of a naff day as not much in the fridge at work so too much cheese and dairy today:
B: Coyo
L: slices of cheddar with mayo
D: chicken with cream and mushroom sauce plus asparagus. Another Coyo.

At least three litres of water. And have just spent 1 hour preparing a low carb moussaka for the rest of the week. Yum.

PeppermintFrog · 10/06/2015 20:23

Hi everyone hope all is going well. It's been a scorcher here in Scotland - sunshine at last!

I can't get on with BPCs and the like so I mixed some melted coconut oil into my total yogurt and berries. The result had an "interesting" texture which I got used to eventually and I think might be a goer for extra fat. I certainly didn't feel hungry till lunch!

Speaking of which, I had leftover cheesy spicy homemade meatballs baked with aubergine in tinned tomato and olive oil, on a bed of raw spinach. It looked like roadkill but tasted yummy.

I faced down the "making sweets for the school fundraiser" challenge yesterday and passed with flying colours, only the tiniest quality control samples passed my lips. I won't polish my halo just yet as the buggers are in my fridge till tomorrow... I will resist! I've just got a pretty-but-just-too-tight dress out of the drawer to remind me why I'm doing this as I was sweating like a pig in my jeans today.Hmm

readyforno2 · 10/06/2015 22:54

I have not eaten enough today. Didn't have breakfast. Had a small pot of natural yog around 10 then soup for lunch. Just realised I was hungry so had a couple of bits of fried halloumi with chilli. On the plus side I've drank loads of water and been at the trainer.

trashcanjunkie · 10/06/2015 23:17

miffy what a kind thing to say, I felt so much better about my feet reading that!

peppermint I'm in the north east and it was frikking boiling here today! I planted four raspberry bushes in the titchy strip of dirt down the side of the concrete steps leading to my front door. I tried to dig it a bit but the ground was rock solid. I already knew I was going to empty out three containers of soil/compost that Dp had done some unsuccessful planting in years ago. Funny enough there was a crop of bloody new potatoes sitting waiting to be found. They look delicious, but will go to the dcs.

Had serious temptation today. We got a new oven (new to us anyway) and there was a period when the old one had gone, but the new one was still in the downstairs corridor (I'm first floor flat) and it had gone dinner time. I had bizarre food timing this morning - breakfast at eight of three titchy rollmops, then 'lunch' at half ten of one leftover beef burger with a bit of slaw and green salad - so by six thirty, and a rather physical day, I was feeling it. We decided to nip along to the local Lebanese place. Reasonable prices, quick and also very healthy, as the meat is all just grilled and the salads are super fresh. They do fantastic garlic mayonnaise. BUT when I arrived I had such an urge to go off piste. Something from without or within kept this at bay and we sent back the fresh flatbreads (and watched them give them out to all the other tables) and I even managed to leave the hidden under the meat flat bread that had soaked up all the juice.

Fucking fucking hell. I felt like standing up and making an announcement at that stage. Dp stuck fast as well.

And now we are home and dry I feel so pleased. One of the dcs posted a photo that he'd taken of me and Dp on his Instagram. It was done in a very loving way, sort of here's the folks type pic, but it's a side on, unawares and my chin is properly double, and the backs of my arms are rather large and wobbly looking. It has actually helped as I'm determined this is my last fat summer ever!

Dp has set up his weights in the downstairs corridor, so I'm going to embark on a training regime with them.

As an aside. My little precious chihuahua ate a tramps shit today, then vommed it up whole on the front room floor. Bastard. She's fine now.

Gcalgske · 10/06/2015 23:21

Today:
BPC and two tsp almond butter out of the jar
1.5 HB eggs, 1 big slice ham rolled around two gherkins and a couple of slices of Gouda with butter on, cucumber.
Sesame chicken stir fry (coat chicken in egg then sesame seeds and fry until brown. Transfer to oven for 15 mins to ensure cooked through. Stirfry remaining egg, bean sprouts, shallot, mushrooms, bok choi, chilli, garlic, ginger, tamari, 5 spice, sesame oil) added in lots of crunchy non LC veg and ready to wok noodles at the end for DH & DD was well received by all.

Gcalgske · 10/06/2015 23:26

Oh trash, well done on resisting and poor doggy (poor you for having to clean it up - ahhhh)
I started weight training on Monday as part of my rehab physio, FFS I can feel it. Amongst other stuff I'm doing squats with 2x 5kg weights (which having an 11kg toddler I thought'd be a piece of piss) but my thighs are killing me. I'm determined though. A pal started weight training 6 months ago and whilst not lost that much weight has gone from a fluffy 18 to a svelte and sporty looking 12. Very inspiring.

diggerdigsdogs · 11/06/2015 00:24

peppermint I use a stick blender to blend yogurt, cream, coyo and melted coconut oil (plus a small handful of berries). No weird texture.

Feeling better. We had a work do last night at a Chinese restaurant, I didn't have any rice or those prawn cracker things. Didn't miss them. Did have to tell myself that they wouldn't taste as good as losing weight feels. Suspect there was cornflower in bits of it but it was pre ordered so not much choice.

B: coyo, yogurt, cream, coconut oil, almond milk, chia, berries.
L: chicken and mushroom in Boursin and cream (weird texture, didn't love it), courgette in garlic and lemon.
D: Chinese as above

WineCheeseSleep · 11/06/2015 00:35

Trash well done, that's some very good resistance!

Food for me today :
B: Bacon, eggs and broccoli stalk fried in butter. 2 creamy coffees
L: Paprika chicken (leftover roast chicken fried in butter with shallots and paprika with some cream added) and buttery cauliflower mash
D: Roast pork with buttery cabbage

3l water

Really trying to up the fat this week!

minibmw2010 · 11/06/2015 08:45

I realised yesterday that although I've been cooking my foods in butter and adding mayo I was probably a bit lower on fat than I've been in the past so I've upped the coconut oil instead of butter and will up the olive oil and mayo at lunchtime. Planning the courgette in cream and boursin for dinner so that should help with the fat thing, ha.

blessedenough · 11/06/2015 09:00

I had a good day yesterday, my tummy is still a bit dodgy but ok.

I had

B- BPC
L- Lettuce leave wraps with pepperoni, cheese and mayo
D - Roast chicken, salad with oily dressing and mayo
I must have had 6ls of water trying to rehydrate myself but I am all swollen as I cant get my rings off so I will drink more today.

I am going to have my first outdoor run today, I have been doing ok on a treadmill but this will be my first road run. Quite excited.

Dumdedumdedum · 11/06/2015 12:12

ewanhoozami, thanks for telling me how to do the kale chips, absolutely yummy, especially with chilli on!

mrswhiskers · 11/06/2015 12:18

Just had the courgette 'spaghetti' for the first time (well, grated courgette) and I'm shocked at how delicious it was. Shock
I did it in the wok with quorn pieces and garlic salt then melted butter and mozzarella on it when done and drizzled in some cream. didn't want it to end!

plumstone · 11/06/2015 12:27
