We filled up the last thread and we still have 3 weeks to go until the next official BC so here is our new inbetween BC thread.

Link to previous thread

So, I was good yesterday and now all of my confessions are lost on the previous thread Grin but I am going to carry on with daily weighing and food recording so this morning I weighed 225 lbs.

MrsK a big for you. Sorry you are feeling so sad Flowers

ijustwanttobeme · 23/04/2015 22:03

I wish the May bootcamp would hurry along, as I'm in danger of falling off the inbetween BC LC wagon.

That's not to say I don't appreciate this thread, but I've struggled these past few weeks.

Today has been better:

B: coffee
L: hunter chicken with salad
D: a chicken drumstick, slice of ham and a chunk of cheese. Oh, and a cup of tea. Am worn out with work and couldn't face dinner.

Only 1l of water too.

Off to bed, so I can stop thinking of bread, biscuits and cake Sad

BerylStreep · 23/04/2015 22:18

Hello all.

I have had an unexpected visit from the whoosh fairy. I weighed 96.8kg this morning, which is a 2-3kg loss! Smile

MrsK Flowers

HemanOrSheRa · 23/04/2015 22:45

That's 4 - 6 lbs Beryl!!! Well done!

Sorry you're feeling sad MrsK Flowers. Sorry that your DH bought you bread too Confused.

DramaAlpaca · 23/04/2015 22:47

Wow, Beryl that's great!

Can you point the Whoosh Fairy in my direction please?

MrsKoala · 23/04/2015 22:51

Aaa wow thanks all. I'll feel better tomo.

The bread thing was just weird. Dh came in all pleased as punch and said he had a present for me. He then presented me with a posh paper bag. When I looked inside there was a huge gorgeous loaf of artisan bread which he had picked up from a fancy stall in borough market for about a fiver. He was really disappointed when I said I hadn't eaten bread since jan. He seems to have not noticed this Confused

nappyaddict · 23/04/2015 23:00

SayraT please can you post recipe for egg fried cauliflower rice.

HemanOrSheRa · 23/04/2015 23:02

Ah bless him MrsK. God loves a trier! He sounds like my DP. I did dry January and he didn't notice for weeks and weeks Hmm.

When the whoosh fairy comes to call where does all the weight disappear to?! How does that work?

And how can it be that some of my fatty bits are shrinking but the scales aren't moving that much? My baby pooch on my lower tummy goes all sort of wrinkly and dimpled when I lose weight from there. Which is nice Confused. So I know things are shifting.

DramaAlpaca · 23/04/2015 23:20

The same is happening to me Heman. I can see I'm shrinking in places, but the scales don't seem to agree Confused.

As I understand it, as you burn fat the empty fat cells fill up with water and it can take a while for your body to release the water, which is when you get a whoosh. I think?

What I hope is happening is that I am retaining all this water I'm drinking, because I am certain I'm in ketosis (thanks to a disgusting taste in the back of my mouth and the evidence of the ketostix I check every couple of days, just to be sure) so I am definitely burning fat.

Gcalgske · 23/04/2015 23:24

I now want cauli fried rice. It's TOM and I could eat a scabby horse.

HemanOrSheRa · 23/04/2015 23:33

Ah! I see. That makes sense Drama.

Where did you get your ketostix from? I've got a funny taste in my mouth, sort of metallic, sometimes like stale boozy taste. And although I'm drinking at least 3l of water (I stop counting after I've had 6 refills of my 0.6l bottle) my wee smells quite strong too Blush. Sorry!

I'm happy to say my appetite is much reduced. I'm really enjoying my grub but have reduced my portion sizes today and I haven't felt hungry at all. After so many years of eating 'low fat' and filling up on carbs I'd forgotten how much I enjoy eating fat, oil, cream and butter etc. Fat makes food taste great! Trouble with me is I tend to treat every meal like it's going to be my last. It's a hard habit to break.

DramaAlpaca · 23/04/2015 23:54

Yes, Heman, same symptoms here. Does anyone know when they go away, or are we stuck with them?

I got the ketostix on Amazon, the first ones that come up when you do a search for them. They come in a white & yellow box and are quite cheap.

I think I'm probably still eating more than I need to. Unfortunately, I'm a girl who just loves her grub! I'm taking these early weeks as getting into training for Bootcamp, learning what I can eat & how much I need to eat to stay full. Hoping by 11th May I'll be into the swing of it so I'll be able to get tough with myself when I have to.

Dumdedumdedum · 24/04/2015 05:39

Good morning, all! Put on 3lbs since yesterday morning, apparently. What can I say? Not constantly snacking would probably help..
Hope you all have great days and thanks to everyone for being here! Flowers Flowers Flowers

TheHappyCamper · 24/04/2015 07:41

I've just ordered some of those ketosticks as I'm feeling the same. Weight loss has stalled, I feel very bloated and would like to have a little reassurance that I'm not accidentally eating too many carbs. I'm going to make a massive effort to drink more water today (does black tea count???). I don't like to drink too much when I'm at work as I can't exactly keep running to the loo leaving my class!

Breakfast - have had 2 scrambled eggs with butter and cream.

We are having LIDL fillet steak for tea tonight. Will do a pepper sauce with double cream. Probably have it with broccoli and green beans.

Flowers for MrsK and well done Star to Beryl - very motivating to me today.

readyforno2 · 24/04/2015 08:23

Pressure is on a bit now. My friend and I booked 5 days in Majorca last night. Leaving on the 2nd July.
No more excuses.

Gcalgske · 24/04/2015 09:14

I occasionally use ketostix but it's important to remember that you should only be aiming for a light pink. If you are getting darker you probably need to drink more water.

DramaAlpaca · 24/04/2015 09:48

Morning all!

B: Bulletproof tea
Half a fried chicken fillet
2 sausages
Little bit of philly & a crunchy mini cucumber

Pressure is on for me too ready. DH & I are off in June for our first holiday sans DC in 21 years!! It'll be our silver wedding anniversary & we are looking forward to some 'us' time at long last, and a proper grown up holiday. Can't wait.

Gcalgske I'm getting the light pink on the ketostix. I'm drinking about 3l of water a day.

SayraT · 24/04/2015 09:59

nappy its not complicated. Just make cauli-rice then fry it and add an egg in and mix it through.

To those of you using ketostix.

First of all you don't need to be in ketosis to burn fat, in fact I think that you need to be quite low in carbs to be in ketosis. Secondly, as gcalgsk said if you are drinking the right volume of water then the ketostix shouldn't ever actually show the dark purple of ketosis.

Today I weighed 223.5 lbs so I've lost 2.5 lbs since yesterday Grin I love this WOE. Will be back to record my meals later but will be staying on track....even though OH is wandering about eating a Danish pastry just now.

MrsK Hmm that is odd....my OH bought me fancy pasta at Christmas. I'd always wanted this pasta but he obviously hadn't realised that for a year I hadn't eaten pasta! I just sits looking pretty in the kitchen.

HemanOrSheRa · 24/04/2015 11:06

Morning!

I'm very pleased! I weighed in this morning at bang on 11st! That's roughly 8 or 9lbs in just over two weeks. That's never happened to me before, EVER. And it's so easy. I know I won't lose like this every week. But I would really, really like to get down into the 10st range in the next few days Smile.

Gcalgske · 24/04/2015 13:37

UNPRECEDENTED news.
I have lost weight (not a lot about a kg) during TOM!
??BC

sassandfaff · 24/04/2015 13:53

Afternoon.

I'm currently lying on my bed with hair dye on my head and moustache dye on my top lip and chin. Varry attractive.

Weird thing has happened to me today too gcal it's my tom too. I weighed this morning 13,6.2. I had 1 cup of tea and yogurt with cream berries flax seed.

I then had to go out and about in errands etc. I can't tell you how many times I needed a wee. More than would be normal for 1 cup of tea. Weighed myself again, as I was thinking my fat cells must be letting go off the water that stunt keeps mentioning. 13,5.0

Ive never weighed less than the morning weigh in.

I'm off out with dp as soon as I'm groomed may take a while

Have a good day.

DramaAlpaca · 24/04/2015 14:02

Shock at all the weight loss! The Whoosh Fairy has been busy Smile. Well done all of you.

I went out for lunch with a friend today and managed to steer clear of all the yummy carbs on the menu. I had an omelette with cheese, mushrooms and bacon, refused the bread on the side, and was even able to turn down the basket of chips that appeared on the table. Well pleased with my restraint.

I didn't lose any weight overnight, but today my legs feel slimmer for some reason Confused

LexLoofah · 24/04/2015 14:53

nappy

oven cauli rice

Have found this is a better way to make cauli rice than on the stove top as dries out better and would be ace as fried rice, like Sayra said just fry up, add your beaten eggs with a bit of chopped shallot or a spring onion at the end, I like to add a dash of soy sauce or fish sauce too but be sure to check the label to get the lowest carbs possible

Gcalgske · 24/04/2015 15:16

I rice cauliflower then fry in a pan with some wok oil (it's already infused with ginger/garlic) and a sprinkle of 5 spice powder for a few mins. Then I add in a ladle or two of hm ham or chicken stock and then let it cook out till tender and stock evaporated. Switch up an egg at the end and whisk it through with a bit of soya sauce.

For 'special fried rice' I add a tiny bit (20g ish) very finely cubed carrot when frying, then a spring onion, some cubes of cooked ham, some little cooked prawns in with the switched egg.
Wheat free Kikkoman tamari soya sauce is about 2-3g /100ml.

StuntNun · 24/04/2015 15:44

When you burn fat it is converted to carbon dioxide (84%) and water (16%) so every time you lose a pound you have to pee 73 ml of water.
