We filled up the last thread and we still have 3 weeks to go until the next official BC so here is our new inbetween BC thread.

So, I was good yesterday and now all of my confessions are lost on the previous thread Grin but I am going to carry on with daily weighing and food recording so this morning I weighed 225 lbs.

There's no such thing as 'normal'! It all depends entirely on your individual situation, weight, metabolism, previous diet, etc.

You can absolutely weigh every day if you want - as long as you can cope with the fact that your body will fluctuate naturally on a daily basis, and so you may see an upward move rather than a downward one.

It's not unusual for people to see a very dramatic loss in the first week or two. But equally, some people don't see a loss for the first few weeks.

Patapouf · 10/05/2015 22:13

I know my weight fluctuates by about 6 lbs, especially near the TOTM. But I thought I'd already had my loss for the week when I weighed in yesterday and was happy with it!
Scales showed 10lbs less today than yesterday, which seems like an awful lot of water weight! I'm not complaining, I'm just worried that it isn't a good thing if sustainable weigh loss is 1-2lbs a week.
Maybe I'm overthinking things.

BIWI · 10/05/2015 22:15

You can expect a significant weight loss in the first two weeks, but after that it will be much more like 1-2lbs a week (although if you have a lot of weight to lose it might be more)

Patapouf · 10/05/2015 23:53

Ah okay, makes sense! Thanks BIWI

Thank you for all the breakfast suggestions! Inspired by Stuntnun's beefburgers, I'm wondering about making minced pork patties, which would include the pig factor which is so important to meGrin Anyway, bacon this morning as have nothing else in that has been suggested!

I am picking up on this thread, before going off to mark place on new one, simply as I am sure my comments will quickly get lost and I wanted to say

Dark - thank you for the idea of making a breakfast pack. I used to do coconut milk and flaxseed to take to work or have quickly but had to stop for allergy issues. Now my brain has got working on transportable breakfasts which can be packed and taken either to my garret where I work at home, or my office. This morning, instead of an omelette, I made hb eggs with smoked mackerel, a bit of lettuce and a dollop of mayo. Once I had done the nursery run, I picked it up from the fridge and came upstairs and did some work.

As I am not hungry when I wake up, I am going to stick with the coffee, maybe some cheese if needing a nibble and proper breakfast once I have got DC off to school/nursery, whether that is office or at home, and I can make the breakfast in amongst getting them ready or the night before. Fortunately, my office is private with windows and I can mostly schedule my own time, so I need to be a bit clearer about when my meal 'breaks' are instead of cramming my diary full.

Lunch, I am going to try having later on, which I normally do anyway, and thinking more about proper meals (again possibly transportable), and then, have salad/snack type supper which is light.

This makes more sense to me in terms of my day as it will work regardless of what time I wake up.

pata - I didn't weight in the early weeks, but in the first month of doing this, I lost 4 inches off my middle (!), no idea what that means in weight terms. Inch loss slowed down an awful lot after that though, it has taken me another five months to get another four inches off. Plus, my weight - when I did have scales - had massive fluctuations, and has only settled more when I got closer to goal, I am talking 3 - 4 fluctuations but I only started weighing dally once I was within 16lbs of goal weight. Now it fluctuates 0.5 - 2lbs a day, the 2lb around TOTM.

okay, I am procrastinating, need to get on and work. See you all on the new thread

StuntNun · 11/05/2015 14:33

Romey one thing a low carb diet is renowned for is immediately targeting the visceral fat store around organs. So what probably happened is that you lost your visceral fat at first, resulting in rapid loss of inches around the middle, then went on to start losing subcutaneous fat from all over your body. So it doesn't mean that your weight loss slowed necessarily, more that the distribution of fat loss changed.

Romeyroo · 11/05/2015 15:06

Interesting - that makes sense deletes rest of post about obsessive thigh measuring

does your body kind of stop when it has taken fat from one area and move to the next, depending on kind of fat? That is amazing

StuntNun · 11/05/2015 21:53

There are two main types of fat in the body and with LC it's the visceral fat that goes first which can make a big difference around your middle, especially if you have had any bloating as well.

Flowers makes a lot of sense
