We filled up the last thread and we still have 3 weeks to go until the next official BC so here is our new inbetween BC thread.

Link to previous thread

So, I was good yesterday and now all of my confessions are lost on the previous thread Grin but I am going to carry on with daily weighing and food recording so this morning I weighed 225 lbs.

Romeyroo, it's not really a problem, just a salutary kick up the jacksie - our friend would have been equally forthright had I lost loads of weight, he is known in our group of friends for his "directness". My OH comes from a country where, if you have stood up for some one as a wedding witness or are godparents to their children, which we are, you are considered to be part of the family. So, this friend treats me as he would his sister or cousin and doesn't mean to cause offence or hurt by his outspokenness. My husband is of the school of "loves me however I look". Well, that's what he says. Grin

OK, must go, the lunch-time bird catches the chicken. Or something.

BerylStreep · 10/05/2015 11:02

Looking forward to starting tomorrow. Have been a bit off plan this week.

I need to sit down and plan my meals for the next few days, but DH is being very annoying and needy, keeps interrupting me with various transparent attempts at attention seeking. Hmm

CrabbyTheCrabster · 10/05/2015 12:00

Great, if he's family then he won't mind if you lamp him one next time you see him for being so bloody rude! Grin

BIWI · 10/05/2015 12:04

Romey - once you're fat-adapted, which you probably already are if you've been Bootcamping for a while, you don't have to eat if you're not hungry. Just make sure that you are eating when you're hungry, and don't leave it for too long, so that you fall head first into the biscuit tin when you do get hungry!

BIWI · 10/05/2015 12:07

I'm going to set up the first chat thread this evening, as well as the question thread, and the link to the recipe thread too.

However, I'm really busy with work for the first half of next week. I have fieldwork all tomorrow until around 10pm, and then off to Dublin for the same project on Tuesday and Wednesday, working all day/evening on both days.

So I'd really, really, really appreciate it if you lot can be all over the chat thread in my absence Grin

Dumdedumdedum · 10/05/2015 12:32

Crabby Hehe! I have seen him lamped for less, by his sister-in-law (who, incidentally, is also our family, being godmother to our daughter!) Grin

I'm not sure, if I manage to get my backside in gear and accomplish a good loss after this BC, I think I may be thanking, not lamping, him Grin

DarkEvilMoon · 10/05/2015 12:39

Thank you for birthday Wishes.

Romey are you eating when you get up or waiting until you find you are hungry? I have the problem that if I don't eat something all my meals get shifted and I end up eating late 10-11pm because hungry catches up with me. But if I eat when i get up (and my body is still too asleep to figure out hunger) then my meals are better spaced in the day and less late at night. Also find it is easier to ignore feeling hungry on this woe as I don't get the cravings when eating carby food. If i my sleep is affected (struggling to sleep/not so great quality) it is usually an indicate that I have let my fat levels slide a bit low for the woe and I need to put in an effort to bring them back up again. If i am too tired to want to eat in the evening I generally try to do so anyway because other wise I am generally worse for wear when I wake up and more likely to struggle with will power the next day. I guess you are going to have to figure out if it is you are just tired and not hungry; or hungry but too tired to want to be bothered as that will make the difference to how you approach it.

DarkEvilMoon · 10/05/2015 12:41

*I have the problem that if I don't eat something when I get up all my meals get shifted
*i don't get the cravings I would when I was eating carby food.

I proofed read that post before I posted it too Sad ffs.

LexLoofah · 10/05/2015 13:22

Morning all, it's mothers Day here so happy Mother's Day!

looking forward to start of BC even though only strayed as far as BC lite since the end of the last one

Plan for today:
b - Leftover steak and eggs
L - grilled cheese using the cauli pizza bases
D - pork gyoza meatballs and roasted courgettes

Off to do shopping list and meal plan oh and my resignation letter as handing my notice in tomorrow after 10 years, bit nervous but it has to be done, glad I will have bootcamp to distract me, have a good day all

sassandfaff · 10/05/2015 13:26

Hello.

I'm Sooooo looking forward to tomorrow. Is that sad?

I definitely need a kick start again. Although as mentioned before the scales are going a little crazy here. I jumped 6lbs in less than a week and then the day after I got the 13.10 reading, I was 13.7 then the next day 13.5, now 13.7 again.

Just goes to show, that getting disheartened by the scales is a waste of time. Confused

I just found out that one of dp's friends is 30 in august and it's a couples do instead of the men. So I'm setting my sights on 1stone for then, going off my lowest weight recorded- 13.4. So 12.4.

Hopefully that will get me in a size 12.

sassandfaff · 10/05/2015 13:28

Happy mother's day lex

Belated birthday wishes dark

HemanOrSheRa · 10/05/2015 14:41

I have had 4 absolutely disastrous days Low Carb wise Sad. Put on some of the weight I'd lost and my skin looks horrible. I'm looking forward to tomorrow. A fresh start.

Romeyroo · 10/05/2015 15:02

Thanks, Biwi, that was the question! I don't tend to fall into the biscuits but I am relying too much on coffee and dark chocolate, especially at work. Noted your comment about helping on the chat thread, off to mark place

Dark, thank you; what you say makes sense. No, I don't eat when I get up, I make coffee, grab a bottle of water and sit down to work so I can get a good couple of hours in before DC wake up. Once DS wakes there is no chance! So I can be up a good 4-5 hours before I have eaten anything. My utmost priority is really not waking DC by accident (lost work time and cranky kids!)

I also have the thing that hungry catches up with me the next day if I skip dinner completely. I think you are right about playing around to see what works. I prefer having the extra time in the morning to the evening.

lex, happy Mother's DayFlowers

Dumde, plenty of us to help support you get your backside in to gear.

Speaking of which I need to get off mine and clean the house while DC are busy with various things!

DarkEvilMoon · 10/05/2015 15:16

Romey I have some cooked sausages, and other things that I can quickly grab first thing (either cold or 1 min pinged in the microwave) which are minimal effort to prepare and little effort to eat. I also find making up a breakfast box so it just has to be grabbed can work too. I get what you are saying about being able to work in peace. It is something that is invaluable.

Dumdedumdedum · 10/05/2015 16:20

Sorry, lex and any other mums being celebrated today, Happy Mother's Day FlowersFlowersFlowers

Dumdedumdedum · 10/05/2015 17:14

I have a question, my apologies if this is in the wrong place, but it's about breakfast, which is only 12 hours away for me!

I am used to eating poached or scrambled eggs on toast for breakfast. Since trying to go low carb, I have replaced the toast with back bacon. I see that is not a particularly good idea, as it's processed meat, so wonder if anyone has any suggestions for what I could use as a base to put my eggs on (apart from the plate, of course Wink ? )

Thanks in advance!

plumstone · 10/05/2015 17:23

Hi all, there are pros and cons to this WOE in a U.S. Hotel, yes they are all super helpful and for breakfast I had Greek yogurt & cream followed by omelette, with mushrooms and cheese - what I did not take into consideration was the smell of freshly cooked waffles and pancakes with Maple syrup OMG I almost reached over to the women at the next table and pinched one! They look amazing but I am sticking with it, no lunch today as breakfast was huge - but a steak place tonight so no disasters so far!! Good luck for tomorrow everyone!! Xoxo

Dumdedumdedum · 10/05/2015 17:55

Thanks, plum. Your brekkie sounds great! Have a lovely day and enjoy your steak tonight!

LexLoofah · 10/05/2015 18:37

dum thank you and I have scrambled or fried eggs several times a week and instead of something to put them on I have something alongside such as

Avocado mashed with homemade mayo
Spinach with mayo or sauted in butter
Mushrooms in butter
Courgette coins in butter
Smoked salmon

Bacon is OK once or twice a week

Try an omlette with ham/bacon/mushrooms/courgettes and cheese, add some cream to the eggs and then is is very filling and don't need anything else

If scrambling add a huge slice of butter or big splash of coconut oil, fry in either.

This morning I did eggs scrambled in coconut oil with a spring onion and chilli powder to go with my leftover steak, 'twas lovely

Poached are lovely but to add more fat could you make hollandaise or just melted butter on the top with any of the above 'sides'?

StuntNun · 10/05/2015 18:56

Dumdedum I sometimes have two fried eggs on two fried 100% beefburgers. I have a Lakeland burger press but it's rubbish so I can't recommend it however I'm sure good burger presses exist.

lisbapalea · 10/05/2015 20:52

Feeling quite excited about tomorrow's start of official bootcamp as it will be my first one! Have done 4wks now of my own version which has swayed between strict, lite and failed! Have been fairly good this weekend though apart from a lot of red wine yesterday as we had friends staying who we don't see very often, plus the odd cheeky tomato / green bean and some far choc....

Sat:
B - coconut yog, ff Greek yog, blackberries
L - large salad incl chicken, avocado, cheese, olives
D - asparagus, smoked salmon with hollandaise then steak, celeriac dauphinoise, green beans, then small soufflé with cream

Sun:
B - fried eggs, bacon, grilled mushroom, grilled tomato
L - posh burger with cheese, coleslaw, salad
D - plate of cheese, celery, pate, ham, almonds. 2 squares 85% choc

lisbapalea · 10/05/2015 20:53

Dark choc, not far choc

Patapouf · 10/05/2015 21:13

Oh goody, do they need to be limited at all? I love leeks. Do we need to limit our carb intake to a certain no. of grams?

BIWI · 10/05/2015 21:52

Don't worry about weighing or counting carbs or calories. The whole point of Bootcamp is to make it as easy as possible. Just follow the rules and you will be fine.

Patapouf · 10/05/2015 21:52

Can I ask how much is normal to lose in the first week in terms of water weight? The scales have dropped dramatically overnight ( I know I shouldn't really be weighing everyday) and I don't know if he scales have broken or LC BC is doing its thang.
