L - watercress, olive oil dressing, cucumbers, radishes with butter on, leftover pork tenderloin with butter on - why did I not think of this before? Could have been spreading butter on cold meat this whole time!

D- going to try the hazlenut chicken from mark's daily apple, as well as hazelnuts it has almond flour and coconut flour but not much so should be OK and will fry in lots of lovely butter & coconut oil. Going to do celeriac noodles or courgetti to go with it and some kale, might even try to make a sort of sauce from the pan juices - probably being a bit adventurous there as DH will be working late so have to bath and bed 2 DCs and be tied to the oven, we will see how it goes, I could have planned better and done this another night.

Mrsstevejones · 16/03/2015 20:48

So after my birthday on tues i didnt manage to get back on the wagon - big sigh.

Then we all got struck down with the an evil sickness bug. My poor kids were so ill. Then i got it but on the plus side getting back into ketosis should be easy after not eating very much.

I havent weighed this week but still hoping to get to Sass`s target of 12st something by end of bootcamp - not sure what effect the week of carby twattiness, totm and sickness bug will have but fingers crossed. Cant believe its week 9 already!

yongnian · 16/03/2015 20:49

Well, after the previous week's disaster I managed to wrestle myself pretty much back to where I was previously...still more wrestling to do...really need to get focused now and actually lose something...sigh, it's getting tough psychologically because I don't have tons to lose now (7lb -14lb max) and I am just being a twat easily side tracked.
Someone give us a kick?? I've lost 35lb since end sept and am a bit annoyed at myself for shilly-shally ing about at this crucial stage in the game...

CharlieSierra · 16/03/2015 21:23

yongnian that's an amazing achievement, wish I had done so well, it's going so slowly for me - 18lb last bc but only about 7 lb this time. What is your secret?

SayraT · 16/03/2015 21:26

Just signing in really to get this onto "threads I'm on".

Made some spinach and chorizo ricotta muffins this evening, I'm planning on having them as breakfast things.

sassandfaff · 16/03/2015 21:41

mrss Shock at 12 stone something at end of bootcamp! I think you miss read me. I think I said as I was 13,9/13,8 I wanted to be in the 12 stones in 8 weeks. I definitely won't be in the 12 stones in 2 weeks!!!!

Hope you're not stressing yourself trying to reach that misread goal. Grin

alma I was doing the 16/8 at the beginning but as I'm not massively hungry between meals, I'm not sure I was getting enough food. I might join you now though as I am a little bit less of a novice now. Smile

Are you starting tomorrow? I like 11-7 best, so I'm going to choose that.

trashcanjunkie · 16/03/2015 22:02

Evening peoples

I lost one third of a kilo Confused

Not sure if that actually counts as a loss....

Was out on Saturday night and drank rum, so, feeling it today.

Hop everyone's ok

Gcalgske · 16/03/2015 22:28

Forgive me BIWI I have sinned.
I ate an Atkins bar. Not sure why. I now have heartburn and the gut gurgles.
Lesson learned again.

BerylStreep · 16/03/2015 22:50

Hello everyone, have only caught up with last week's thread, and haven't managed to weigh this morning.

Flowers MrsK You sound like you are having a tough time. If it helps, I am the re-heat queen. Feel free to ignore the stuff below, but some of it might help.

I make dinners which last three days at a time. IPD moussaka, shepherds pie, fish pie are all favourites. I get 6 servings out of them, so will do me & DH three days on a row. I also do a massive pork crackling joint, which will do us in leftovers for another 2- 3 days (kids get reheated pork with potatoes and frozen pea & sweetcorn mix), I make ZH pork & mustard sauce, or ZH pork & apricot salad for me & DH (only a tiny bit of apricot - honest).

Everything, absolutely every leftover, goes into little glass containers in the fridge to get re-used for something else. Extra boiled potatoes get sliced and fried for DC. I spend 1/2 hr on a Sunday preparing snacks for school, and wrapping sandwiches, scones, buttered pancakes, filled muffins in clingfilm and freezing them, so the night before school they are taken out and popped into a snack box.

Porridge can be done in quantity and reheated - in fact it is nicer cooked and reheated, with a bit of milk added.

Roasted chicken thighs are great - I serve adults with green veg, and add mashed potato for kids. If DS1 like mushy stuff, you could add it to a soup to give a casserole consistency.

I did laugh last week when you described eating the choc on the M25, then drinking wine to celebrate not being on the M25, but I really think you need to give yourself a break in terms of outings, especially when you are having to visit PILs. Do you have a local park / walk you can go on? It shouldn't have to always involve days out to NT / EH. If you are a SAHM during the week, can you get your DH to take the DC somewhere local to give you a rest?

Trash belatedly - nice rack!

FurFoxAke · 17/03/2015 06:32

Better day yesterday.
B; BPC with splash of cream (I'm not sure I can do without the cream now I've tried to IySWIM) few nuts.
D;smoked salmon and leafy salad with mayonnaise
T; chicken roasted in butter, more of that salad and mayo/marmite combo.

Water done.
Hope you have a good day everyone.

DrDiva · 17/03/2015 08:37

Good morning!

Am still here and lurking industriously. Enjoying the photos! Struggling with my all or nothing mentality, can't seem to get my head round it. But on the upside, discovered this morning that I now prefer my coffee without sugar - DH made me one with, I took one mouthful and promptly spat it out.

I have a week off next week without DS in the house (my terms are different) so plan on lots of batch cooking for me rather than him - he has lots in the freezer.

By the way Mrsk Thanks re both the feeding and the sleep deprivation. It's a bugger, take care of yourself.

SayraT · 17/03/2015 08:40

I just had some yummy spinach, chorizo and ricotta muffins for breakfast. I am going to try blueberry ricotta muffins I think. I will let you know how they are.

trash have you tried making the muffins? I added a tablespoon of spirulina to them. I think you had a tub of spirulina to use as well. It works well but makes them really green.

Mrsstevejones · 17/03/2015 08:51

Oh Sass i did think it was a bit optimistic but i thought it was worth a shot - not that i had a chance of doing it but i was going to aim big!! I havent weighed so i dont know what damage i have done - i am hoping that the sickness bug has undone all my falling off of the wagon! I still have tummy ache and my BPC isnt sitting well but i am hoping the coconut oil will have a positive effect as it supposed to have an antibacterial action. Fingers crossed.

Last night i made a tomatoey mince in the slow cooker which i had with cheese and i served with pasta and garlic bread for my students and kids. I will have this again today. I just about to pop breast of lamb into the oven, although eating is the last thing i feel like doing. Cooking and shopping feels like a full time job some days.

I was given a car valet for my birthday, so later on today i should have a gleaming car instead of the manky mum taxi it currently is!

Good luck everyone

Agree with Beryl on cooking ahead of porridge i do mine in the slow cooker overnight. 1 cup of oats, 2 of water and 1 of milk, handful of raisins and sprinkle of cinnamon. I set it on a timer to come on 4 hrs before i need it. Then i fridge the rest and heat in microwave with a touch of milk - my kids love it with sliced apple or banana - obvs not BC approved but very nice and fills my kids up until lunch. This lasts a week. Hubby has eggs in the microwave and i have BPC - i think i can do breakfast for us all in about 5 mins now.

mootime · 17/03/2015 08:53

Morning all. Still trying not to sulk about the new scales.. (but PMT and ravenous hunger making it hard)
So I'm trying to look on MFP to check my carbs. I checked yesterday with sticks and I'm not in ketosis. Could it be the one forced weetabix dd brought me for breakfast in bed? Or is it more likely that it's carab creep ?

Can anyone tell me what my ideal macros are? Thanks!

BerylStreep · 17/03/2015 09:02

Mootime I think I have read 70% fat, 20% protein, 10% carb.

BerylStreep · 17/03/2015 09:07

Sayra they could be St Patrick's muffins!

Public holiday here, so me & DH off, but randomly both DC are at school. We have planned to tackle the junk room that passes for a study this morning.

SayraT · 17/03/2015 09:11

Yes, thats it Beryl I did it intentionally to celebrate St Patricks day Grin

ChesterDrawers · 17/03/2015 09:15

Morning all, happy St Patrick's Day Grin Why have we not got a leprechaun smiley when we have dragons and daffs for the other patron saints?

I digress...scales still being an utter bastard. But from today - NO DAIRY, NO CHOCOLATE, NO NUTS, NO WINE apart from Saturday.

Today's plan:
B: eggs, butter
L: left over roast pork, salad leaves, avocado, hm mayo
D: Spag bol, courgetti and NO CHEESE

sassandfaff · 17/03/2015 09:56

mrss I think I'd have to cut a limb off to achieve it in 2 weeks. Grin

My mum left some jeans here on Saturday. Had a peek and they are size 14. Tried them on and they fit! Got the button and zip fastened and didn't even need to lie down. I did need to really breath in though. Hmm

I just told dp I am happy to start buying clothes in a 14. I'm sure he probably groaned inwardly.

Right, I'm doing 10/6 today because I'm too hungry to wait for 11am.

Boiled eggs in butter and salt. Yum.

SayraT · 17/03/2015 10:15

Blueberry (and raspberry) ricotta muffins are in the oven Smile the mixture tasted delicious so hope they are good.

Recipe

250g ricotta (7.5g carbs)
1 egg (1g carb)
50g ground almonds (3.5g carbs)
100g blueberries and raspberries (10g carbs)
Vanilla essence and ground vanilla

Mix all together, stick in muffin cases and in oven until cooked.

Total carbs ~3.6g per muffin (I made 6 but you could make smaller ones).

The raspberries and blueberries were frozen ones and were mixed together, I had intended on just using blueberries but couldn't. Blueberries only would be lower carb than raspberries.

sassandfaff · 17/03/2015 10:29

Uh sayra they sound yummy.

Trying to get dc's weaned off pain au chocolates and brioches- they sound ideal.

Let us know on the taste test.

BIWI · 17/03/2015 11:26

DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY ON KETOSTIX!

if you're drinking the amount of water that you should, all the ketones will be washed out anyway, so the sticks won't register (much) of a colour change.

OP posts:
mootime · 17/03/2015 12:28

Sorry. I bought a super cheap tub at the beginning before I knew better and was tempted to look as I've only gained over the last month..Hmm Even before the new scales.

So MFP has told me I've already eaten too much today...Shock

Breakfast - 1 egg , 1 portobello mushroom 1spoon of butter

Snack - 2 coffees with almond milk and tsp of coconut oil. (And a spoon of clotted cream)

Lunch - salmon and chorizo salad with mayo dressing...

Anyone see anything glaringly obviously wrong?

BIWI · 17/03/2015 13:00

Can't judge on only two meals!

What else have you been eating? How much fat? How much water have you been drinking?

And ignore MFP as well. It's not really set up for low carb eating.

OP posts:
mootime · 17/03/2015 13:16

I know I've had a bit of carb creep. The odd spoon of peanut butter. I'm going to try and keep a food diary.
I've also been struggling to drink enough water.

Sorry, I know that it's late in BC to be being so crap, I just wonder if I'm fundamentally just doing this wrong and possibly just eating too much.
The only time I've "cheated" was the weetabix at the weekend. But maybe it's just too many of the little carbs building up.

I guess it could also be my hormones are all over the place (I feel very up and down anyway).

Anyway, I've drunk 2litres of water today so that's better.
