ChesterDrawers · 10/03/2015 19:22

Quick question - can I reheat boiled eggs? Boiling some tonight but would like to warm them to eat with butter tomorrow morning.

LexLoofah · 10/03/2015 19:41

Fatstacks & Beyond thanks baconnaise is genius, will give that a go also probably just as salad dressing with vinegar and mustard might work too ?

I just wondered about pouring fresh fat on top of old fat and never getting to the bottom of the jar but hopefully will find ways to use it as fast as I am making it as a by-product of breakfast - this morning's bacon was particularly fatty I must have at least two inches of golden fat in a wide mason jar in the fridge

Fatstacks · 10/03/2015 19:48

I zap mine in the micro Chester stick the fork in and do it 30 secs stir 30 secs add butter.

No idea if it's safe mind Grin

Happy birthday mrss. Flowers

We have students from age 12 - 18 and I also take older students too, they all go to international house to do English. This particular lady is only here for a week, but I have a 19 year old coming on the 24th and he's staying for twelve weeks. That's the longest I've had so far, but really I'd not mind longer, as it's usually a good experience.

Minor food slip up today, but otherwise on track. Dp and I utterly minging with colds.

mootime · 10/03/2015 20:15

So a much better day here.
Lunch was 2 chorizo and courgette and a spoon full of cream.
Snack was 3 slices of salami
Supper is going to be roast chicken and broccoli
I've managed 2 litres of water.

I've also just booked a trip in May that I want to look good for so extra incentive. Smile

trashcanjunkie · 10/03/2015 20:18

Hey moo that's great! Keep posting, it does help when you have an expectant audience Grin

ChesterDrawers · 10/03/2015 20:24

Well if you're still alive Stacks, I think I'll give it a go Grin

MrsKoala · 10/03/2015 20:53

happy birthday mrsS.

very tired here. the piranha brothers are metaphorically nailing my head to the floor. (obscure monty python reference). but i'm sticking to bc no dairy and no wine. tasted vodka lime and soda and it's rubbish - you can't taste it. totally pointless. vodka is a pointless drink.

Vodka is not a pointless drink. Drunk in sufficient quantities it does the job perfectly well. You just have to get the quantity right Wink

I have yet another virus. I am sick of viruses. Seems to be one after another this winter. I am totally bored of this now. Ibuprofen, anti histamine. Dosed and off to bed. Seriously I think my food intake should read:
B; shit load of tablets plus some scrambled eggs
L: too many peanuts plus a pinch of tablets
T: Handful of tablets plus 2 soft boiled eggs.
Not sure I wanted to rattle in quite this manner. Weight loss would be nice. lol

Yes I know, i know. Not enough fat or veg or anything approximating proper food. Blush I have it on the hit list for tomo. But for tonight. more water and sleep. Night night

Gcalgske · 10/03/2015 21:21

Thanks romey I know, actually writing it down has put it into perspective.

low carb bargain alert morrisons locally (I presum nationally) have pork shoulder on £1.96 per/ kg. I've bought a lovely big piece which is cooking away in the sous vide with paprika, smoked paprika, tomatoes, leek, shallot, garlic, cumin and mustard. My house smells DIVINE.

Question (one I thought I'd never have to ask) how best does one store pork crackling? I bought a huge piece from morrisons for 60p and have roasted it to crispy perfection (it's at least 70% fat and with a big bit of pork still attached) but I've too much to eat tonight. Help?

Gcalgske · 10/03/2015 21:26

As a seasoning for the cracking I blitzed up a tsp of szechaun pepper corns and a star anise with 2 tsp of rock salt then seived the big bits out. It was amazing.

Gcalgske · 10/03/2015 21:28

As an aside I heartly recommend going to the butcher counter and looking a huge piece of meat the same weight as you have lost. Good for the clarity of thinking and keeping you focused.

MrsKoala · 10/03/2015 21:28

But it's only point it seems to me is to taste of nothing and get you drunk. That's shit! I want a drink i can enjoy. I had 2 Vodka, lime and sodas the other night and i felt as tho i was drinking just soda and lime and then i suddenly felt sick and drunk. Not nice, tipsy, bubbly drunk like wine, but the room is spinning and i may vom drunk. The only good part of being drunk, like the nice taste and feeling tipsy, was completely taken out of the process. I stand by my assertion - Vodka is a pointless drink and that's that! Grin

BitchyDoesWitchyThings · 10/03/2015 21:31

See I think wine tastes nasty and give me a migraine after 2 sips so that is pointless Grin guess it means more vodka for me and more wine for you then MrsK Wink

MrsKoala · 10/03/2015 21:36

Well my real drink is guinness, but sadly not on this woe. So wine will have to do. Red wine is also foul as are most spirits (apart from jd & coke but i'm guessing that's not really LC either!). Can we have gin and slim line tonic? i may try that if so.

Gcalgske · 10/03/2015 21:58

Slim line tonic is just as bad as diet coke, diet lemonade etc, full of aspartame :(
I do drink it but try to limit it.

Gcalgske · 10/03/2015 22:00

I love a big dry white wine and soda with lime and mint and loads of ice - yum yum yum.

nowitsenough · 10/03/2015 22:08

Dry white wine and soda are my drink of choice too Smile

Today I've had bacon and eggs for breakfast, fried chicken strips with salad and Mayo for lunch and low carb sausages with braised leeks and buttered cauliflower for dinner.

RandomHouseRules · 10/03/2015 22:46

Hello all. I have been very bad at checking into the thread over the past week or two but am still going. Have had a bit of a bounce up but is TOTM so hoping it is temporary. I was off the wagon a bit over the weekend due to family birthday but back on it now. Possibly a bit of carb flu this eve though - only myself to blame.

Happy birthday MrsS!

Romeyroo · 11/03/2015 06:39

Well, not sure what my feeling bigger was all about yesterday; I just weighed and I am a lb down. No TOTM yet either. I am still feeling exhausted, so need to religiously take my supplements. I probably need to try and get a walk or something in. I have cut my coffee from three cups to two - I don't know, maybe I just need a holiday.

B will be coconut milk and flaxseed mix
L is a working lunch so am going to suggest somewhere I can get a salad
D no idea yet, maybe quiche with flaxseed pastry and salad veg, that was nice before.

There are a few recipes on the recipe thread I want to try too at some point.

KOKO everyoneFlowers

sassandfaff · 11/03/2015 07:49

I was in bed and asleep before 9pm last night!

I'm about to put my gym clothes on before I do the school/nursery run because if I don't there is no way I'll chance back into them when I get back.

I was so good at the start of last week. I did 3 t25's in a row and then none since. Grrr. And consistency really is the key to exercise. I know this.

I'm just tired. I said to dp, I'm brill at not cheating, but I'm probably a bit shit at the fat and water part if it. the whole point of it Hmm

lurkingmurking · 11/03/2015 08:20
