Morning all!

Here's the Spreadsheet

And The Weight Tracker

Up at silly o'clock to catch a train to Leeds so no time for anything else.

Hope your weigh-in brings you good news. But if it doesn't - don't fall into a pile of biscuits - come and rant about it here!

I'm a couple of days late to the thread this week but registered a 1 lb loss on Monday which I was chuffed with. Particularly as I had quite a boozy weekend (so there may be a delayed reaction at the next weigh-in).

Probably a daft question, but for those of you who make "butter eggs" in the morning, what's your method?

Haven't seen sayra on the thread recently. Everything ok with you hun?

Gcalgske · 25/02/2015 12:01

Brekkie was 100g coconut milk with a tbsp flax seeds (whole seeds soaked over night). 2 cups of tea with almond milk. 2 pints water.
Lunch will be some cauliflower falafel with coconut milk cucumber/ radish raita again with a mug of oxtail broth.
Stuck in (it's shopping day) with a constipated toddler so dinner will be whatever freezer can provide, likely sausages and more broth.

Gcalgske · 25/02/2015 12:04

dixiejo I normally hard boil 6-8 eggs at a time and peel/ leave in the fridge. Then mash with a knob of butter and microwave for 20-30 seconds until the butter is melted.

nowitsenough · 25/02/2015 12:05

Today I've had bacon and eggs for breakfast, will have chicken breast and salad for lunch and for dinner we're having stew with mashed swede.

Fatstacks · 25/02/2015 12:50

Does anyone have a pleasant tasting (or at least drinkable Smile) green smoothie recipe?

BIWI · 25/02/2015 13:29

Grin at shit thread

ChesterDrawers · 25/02/2015 13:35

dixiejo I either scramble two eggs with a big slice of butter, lots of salt and pepper, on the hob or in the microwave, stirring lots with both methods. I used to use cream too, but have knocked that on then head for now

sassandfaff · 25/02/2015 13:49

Grin biwi

After lowering the tone twice this week can I try to raise it a bit by asking for any links/ thoughts on stevia?

So far I've read that it comes from a plant, as in a herb and that it has no or trace carbs.

Also that it can be mixed with shire, so it's best to find pure or mixed with forgot name some alcohol thing that is natural sugar, like fruit.

sassandfaff · 25/02/2015 13:50

Shire = shite

sassandfaff · 25/02/2015 13:52

Grrr

This bloody purple thing that keeps popping up about the web chat is making me make more mistakes than normal.

Is this a new feature?

Because I hate it.

Mrsstevejones · 25/02/2015 13:59

FATSTACKS - i LOVE a green smoothie but unless you put loads of fruit in they all taste like grass i am afraid. However i am used to it and now and whilst i dont love them i no longer have to hold my nose to drink them, they are palatable.

Currently having - 2 handfuls of spinach (frozen is good) - pretty taste less
1 avocado and 1 tbsp of coconut oil mixed with water.

When i can be bothered i add ginger - spicy and surprisingly nice.
When i have been to the market i add kale - strong flavour but ok.

If you can spare the carbs a v small handful of frozen raspberries or a couple of frozen strawberries really lift the flavour and improve them immensely. Almond milk nulls the flavour slightly and adding something frozen really helps, they taste better really cold.

My fav recipe is 4 frozen strawberries, half a frozen cucumber, handful of spinach and avocado mixed with water, but too carby so rarely have them.

I am NEVER going to eat avocado any other way and hope all the raw green veg is giving me a boost of goodness.

BitchyDoesWitchyThings · 25/02/2015 14:08

DrD - it is hard when you have food issues isn't. It can be so quick to put a bad day down to habit slipping/returning and start to panic.

Turns out my day yesterday was a bad day. Pain and lack of sleep induced and it was the effort to sort food that was the main problem. Another night of shocking sleep due to the pain so I ate breakfast and went back to bed and slept for 4hrs. I have an evening meeting tonight so I have to get going and organised.

Lunch is going to be a salad, no idea about tea will see what i fancy later.

Well done to all who have lost, kok to everyone and Flowers for being a place where you can say I am having a shit day/good day/come for so readily given advice

Gcalgske · 25/02/2015 14:10

I like stevia but the blend is important as it can have a bad bitter aftertaste - truvia is a blend with erythritol which is pretty easy to get. I like xylitol, which is made from birch trees. I've bee reading recently that regardless of the source anything that tastes sweet can prompt an insulin reaction in the body so for some people even artificial or 'natural' sweetners are out if they want to stay on track.

Gcalgske · 25/02/2015 14:11

Also hating the stupid purple box Angry

Gcalgske · 25/02/2015 14:13

sass I double tapped on it and it opened a new window then went away.

Mrsstevejones · 25/02/2015 14:13

Walked around town pushing a ridiculously heavy double buggy and my legs feel so much better for a bit of walking. Everything above hips still agony however!

ijustwanttobeme · 25/02/2015 14:14

Afternoon y'all.

Forgot my lunch today, so am having more or less what I had for breakfast

Ham, cheese, avocado, cherry tomatoes
S: coffee with cream

Tonight may be pork belly if I get home in time, or chilli minus the beans and rice if I dont.

Any view BIWI on whether LCing does help reduce PMT?

Fatstacks · 25/02/2015 14:36

Thanks MrsSJ I was looking for someway to get avocado in.
I hope it clears my skin up, my GP told me fobbed me off to try it while I have a break from spot tablets.

Stupid botox fella said my skin was having an 80's revival Angry

sassandfaff · 25/02/2015 14:45

I'm having a made today on here. Just lost post!

gcal that was pretty much my suspicion about stevia and insulin.

Truvia is cocoa cola owned and pruvia is owned by pepsi- I just found out. Hmm

I think that tells me all I need to know really.

nowitsenough · 25/02/2015 14:51

Me too .. Was worried I've posted on the wrong thread, but can't find my post anywhere.

nowitsenough · 25/02/2015 15:05

Feeling tired and stressed today, I didn't sleep well last night, my mum has her MRI scan today, I feel really nervous for her. I know she not going to find out any information today, but she never had a scan before and neither have I or any close relatives, so I know she was quite nervous and apprehensive about it.

BitchyDoesWitchyThings · 25/02/2015 15:21

MRI scans are ok nowits I had one earlier this year and have one previously. The room is a bit cold, the machine looks a bit big and intimidating, but I have nearly fallen asleep in it. Generally the staff are utterly lovely and reassuring. The worst bit for me was standing up again after lying down. I get dizzy going from lying down to standing up if I don't sit for 5 mins. I hope your mum is ok.

Yuleloglatte · 25/02/2015 15:26

I find sweeteners both stall me and get me craving sweet stuff, when I don't really think about it otherwise, so I don't use them at all. Natural or not, I think they feed sugar addiction. I also have much less PMT when low carbing.

Pisseslikeahorse · 25/02/2015 16:00

Mrsstevejones - if your still aching then make sure you stretch out a few more times. With upper body its worth trying to find something you can hang off, but generally just stretch until you feel it tighten (never bounce) and hold until comfortable. hope it helps Smile

I'm home, good run and picked up the kids. Cant stop being hungry today and I've eaten very well Soooo water water water ... even saying that Im looking around for food FFS

nowitsenough · 25/02/2015 16:05

Thanks Bitchy Smile They told her it is quite loud, she was hoping to be able to have earphones to listen to radio.

I am quite claustrophobic, so don't think I'd like it at all Blush
