Morning all!

Here's the Spreadsheet

And The Weight Tracker

Up at silly o'clock to catch a train to Leeds so no time for anything else.

Hope your weigh-in brings you good news. But if it doesn't - don't fall into a pile of biscuits - come and rant about it here!

Ok, have just checked and it should be 6.3g for a 25g serving if the mix (including cocnut milk)
Is that ok as a breakfasty type of thing? Quick and easy in the morning etc.

Am going to try my BPC with cocnut milk as well, see if it's nice, if so I can go dairy free for a bit....

nowitsenough · 25/02/2015 22:56

My mum's mri went ok. She didn't like it and they didn't have earphones for her, so all she had was ear plugs - don't know why she didn't take her own, it's possible she doesn't have any. Wish I'd sent her some now Sad Anyway she said it was extremely loud and quite claustrophobic. Now she has to wait and see what they found. Apparently they meet up Friday morning and then will send the results to her consultant at her local hospital, who will ask her to come in for the results.

LexLoofah · 26/02/2015 02:11

now that's a shame about the headphones, I only went in half way when I had one but that was loud enough, must be even louder all the way in, how rotten for your DM. Glad she came through it OK though. now the wait for the results I know, just keep taking a day at a time and be kind to yourself.

Thumbwitch · 26/02/2015 03:34

Glad your mum's MRI is over, now - hope the news on Friday is better than expected.

D last night was mince thing and courgetti in butter and garlic salt - yum! Then mixed fruit (raspberries, blackberries and peach) in double cream. Plus a glass of red wine spritzer (still haven't managed to give it up - am actually quite disappointed in my perceived "need" for alcohol when stressed)

And... today I tried the roasted beans and although they didn't all go very crispy, I think they are FAB! I probably need to cook them longer - can anyone offer temp/time settings? I did 180degC for about 15mins (with fan).

B - lump of turkey
L - roasted beans and 2 Babybels - just not hungry and finding it hard to force myself.
D - dunno yet.

Wonkyparsnip · 26/02/2015 06:14

I'm 2 weeks ahead of boot camp as I started at the beginning of January. I've use weighed myself and I've lost 1 stone 3 lbs!!! I'm so pleased as I plateaued for weeks. I can't believe I'm eating foods I love and I'm still loosing weight. I've never felt hungry. I don't do the spreadsheets etc as I'm rubbish but I just wanted to thank everyone as all your posts keep me motivated.

ChesterDrawers · 26/02/2015 06:23

Well done Wonky that's a great loss. It's such a brill plan, isn't it? Deprivation not required.

I need someone to tell me about green beans. I don't actually like green beans but will I like these? Tempted to try them but a bit scared. It's shoppping day later so answers on a postcard asap please.

Today's plan:

B: BPC, eggs, butter
L: left over chicken casserole, bit of cheese
D: salmon in parma ham, roast broccoli, hm mayo

Scales have gone up a bit and then stuck. Must lay off the choc today.

sassandfaff · 26/02/2015 07:02

Green beans.

I cook them at about 180/190 for about 20 mins. I take them out and give the pan a shake a few times to turn them over and recover them in the oil and salt at the bottom of the pan.

I think they are done when there are a lot going brown. They are the best ones. The ones that are still green are not quite as good. But I imagine they are a bit like popcorn, in that, if you leave them in to get them all to go brown the quickest to brown will burn. Iyswim.

I'm still 13.9 this morning, despite having a couple of handfuls of roasted/salted almonds. Made dp hide them!

I don't mean this smug at all, but I really don't want to self sabotage. I thinking reading a lot in the area of low carb helps. I'm currently reading fat chance by Robert lustig. It's very eye opening and makes you see sugar as quite the toxic substance it is.

I suppose my will to not be this shape is rock solid too and also I have wanted to start my own business in the weight/exercise area since as long as I can remember (pre 2008 at least) got my gym instructor qualification 2009.

So all this is keeping me strong.

Thumbwitch · 26/02/2015 07:04

Thanks sass - so I should have left them another 5 mins. I didn't want them to burn! Will try for longer next time :)

Thumbwitch · 26/02/2015 07:05

Chester - they really do taste like chips when they're brown and a bit crunchy! It's really quite impressive!

Thumbwitch · 26/02/2015 07:23

Another question re. ground flax seeds - I bought some whole golden flax today but don't know how to grind it short of using a mortar and pestle, which isn't my idea of fun - how do other people grind their flax? If they don't have a fancy food processor, that is?
Thanks :)

sassandfaff · 26/02/2015 07:39

Sorry thumb I've never eaten flax seeds.

FurFoxAke · 26/02/2015 08:12

Morning! Glad it wasn't too awful for your mum nowitsenough, I'll cross my fingers with you that she gets a good result. Flowers

Well, I definitely won't need to use 25g of the cocnut mixture, so that's even better wrt carbs in the morning. But it was nice. The BPC was ok with coconut milk instead of cream, but I'm not sure yet. Confused

Have a good day everyone!

Mrsstevejones · 26/02/2015 08:14

After all the glowing recommendations for oven cooked green beans i am off to the shops later. Thanks

Fecking teeth, its its not teething babies it my sodding wisdom teeth and i only have one left. 6 hrs and counting until dentist!

Gcalgske · 26/02/2015 08:16

thumb do you have a coffee grinder? I use the bamix grinder attachment. Otherwise I eat them whole and buy pre ground from aldi (next to the breakfast cereals - lidl has them too) when eating wholei was told to soak them to make them easier to digest but I also sprinkle them on salads whole / raw for a bit of crunch.

Thumbwitch · 26/02/2015 08:56

No I don't even have a coffee grinder :( as I very rarely drink the stuff. I have an old-style blender/liquidiser, which I suspect my mum used to use for coffee beans - but not sure if that would work?

sassandfaff · 26/02/2015 09:31

Fingers crossed for your mum on Fri now

sassandfaff · 26/02/2015 09:38

Awh mrss bless you. It's not something I've suffered too much from. Touch wood, although I don't know why as I'm shit at brushing them, especially as I never go anywhere. Blush

Hope you're pain free soon.

Enjoy your bean chips.

I made a dish last week, from the recipe thread (adapted of course) and my dp actually called it delicious. DELICIOUS

I actually grabbed hold of the worktop in shock. It's only took 12 years to call something I've cooked delicious.

Go me. Grin

Gcalgske · 26/02/2015 09:43

Hugs mrs have you tried anbesol liquid? I nick the babies when my teeth are sore. Hope you get it sorted soon. Hope Friday is ok now, fingers crossed for your mum. Give it a go thumb it might work, it's only £1.99 for a bag of the ground/milled in Aldi so I usually buy that because I'm lazy time efficient Grin

Notso · 26/02/2015 10:32

Hello all. Am going stir crazy here. DD is ill with a flu type thing. While she is old enough to leave on her own, I feel a bit mean leaving her when she's so ill so haven't been out much.

Haven't done anything exciting food wise except realised I cannot have low carb snacks around the house just in case as I will eat them. I bought two bars of 90% Lindt and a multi pack of pork scratchings and I had to get DH to hide one of the chocolate bars as went through a bar in two days and the pork scratchings were finished off yesterday.

Has anyone heard from MrsKoala? Hoping her and her family are all ok.

lurkingmurking · 26/02/2015 10:37

Sass Grin

I need to plan a fab daily free menu for next week to give myself a whoosh.

What are my alternatives for cream in coffee? I can't drink it black and I need the caffeine!

Whatabout this Alpro coconut stuff?

BeyondDoesBootcamp · 26/02/2015 10:55

Just remembered, i meant to share this here when i saw it the other day... :)

Amaxapax · 26/02/2015 11:07

Has anyone tried Coyo coconut yoghurt? I've just ordered some along with flaxseed to shake things up a little.

Notso · 26/02/2015 11:11

Posing on here because I can't tell anyone in RL yet. Just heard DS1 didn't get into his and our chosen secondary school Sad even though I knew it was a massive long shot as it's so far away and massively over subscribed I still feel gutted as it was totally the best place for him.

lurkingmurking · 26/02/2015 11:38

Notso Flowers how disheartening. What's the school like where he has a place?

Could I make a BPC with coffee, butter and tinned coconut milk? Would that be carb tastic?

DrDiva · 26/02/2015 12:40

mrss Sad for the teeth. Hope they get sorted.

sass here's to less than 12 years to the next cooking compliment!

notso that's sad for your DS. The whole education thing is so fraught, I kind of dread it when it's our turn.

This morning a Very Large Shop turned up in my kitchen (yep, I think it was the whole shop's worth - I couldn't see the benches!) so I have had a wonderful morning cooking. Made a cauli crust pizza, have a ham in the oven, courgette and dolcelatte soup with a bit taken out and adapted for dairy-intolerant DS, coconut cupcakes, and Blush cheesecake. I put mostly caramel flavouring in, and just a dash of maple syrup between four so hopefully carb content still low. The biscuit crust is pecans and butter. Oh, I also made some low carb bread from a new recipe I found - it's very good. This afternoon after the cleaner is gone I will make bolognese and turn some of the ham into ham hock pie for the carb eaters of the household.
