Evening everyone. I hope you're all ready, prepared and raring to go!

Here is the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness:

for you to enter your starting weight

Have a good look at the tabs at the bottom, as there you will find the rules, the list of allowed veg and lots of other really useful information.

I've also started the questions thread , so if you have anything you need to ask, that's the best place to ask it. The chat threads move really quickly in the first weeks, so this thread is the best place to ask your questions.

And this time around, I thought it might be useful to have a thread to post about good/interesting low carb products that you come across:

Here

Good luck!

Thanks, Sayra, cloud bread is just a less insipid name for oopsie rolls. I worked out that they are about .5g per piece and I had one last night and one tonight. I haven't tasted them on their own, but they provide a bready sort of texture that is nice with sandwich-type foods.

Thank you for the reassurance, Biwi. I don't intend to quit now. I'm eleven weeks pre-holiday and don't particularly want to return to the hungry days of calorie counting. Plus, I've just made a delicious lunch for tomorrow of chicken, avocado, marinated cucumber and mayonnaise. It looks too good to give up now. I'm also really enjoying eating three meals a day and not experiencing hunger in between. I just hope I see some good results in the next couple of weeks.

non126 · 19/01/2015 22:15

Signing in significantly up from the last bootcamp.

Given myself a stiff talking to.

Today I have mostly been eating.....eggs

B 2 boiled eggs & butter
L 2 eggs scrambled with butter
D 3 eggs omelette with salami and spinach spoon of salsa & spoon soured cream with chives
1 avocado

Need to plan meals tomorrow - even though I love eggs it may get a bit tedious if I carry on like this.

Bit low on water intake but will remedy this tomorrow also.

Good luck everyone and a big thanks to Sayra and BIWI for their tireless efforts in getting the bootcamp and spreadsheet up and running Flowers

ClashCityRocker · 19/01/2015 22:25

Ah, BIWI , am I to take it that BPC definitely does not count as breakfast?

runs and hides from BIWI's big stick

I shall make haste to the avocado section tomorrow...

polishes halo

I've cheated a bit by starting off before - I've lost 5lb-ish since the new year, which isn't brilliant but then I've not been terribly strict (wine, basically Blush )

I fully intend to crack on properly now.

Today:

B: A smoked mackerel fillet and a boiled egg

L: A salad with lettuce, cucumber, two boiled eggs, a dollop of Hellman's and probably too much cheddar

D: A kind of moussaka thing - I hoiked out some of the lamb stuff I had cooked for the others' dinner, and layered it with aubergine which I'd sliced and baked for a bit in the oven with a dollop of Total yoghurt. It was alright, but I wouldn't serve it to anyone else iykwim - it was a very half-arsed "moussaka"

B: Lord knows - I've run out of eggs. I'll think on that.

L: Leftover half-arsed moussaka, with lettuce, tomato, celery

D: Roast chicken, marinated in something (I'll decide in the morning), cauliflower, buttery spinach.

YoureMyWifeNowDave · 19/01/2015 22:45

Apologies BIWI no breakfast or greens with lunch as my weekend was spent in A&E rather than sorting out my fridge ready for BC as I had planned!

A trip to the supermarket is planned for the morning (and I did eat the best part of a full swede with dinner in a futile attempt to make up for my pitiful meals earlier)

Palooza · 19/01/2015 23:47

Rubbish start for me today but I'll do better! Battling a "bootcamp starts tomorrow so I'll have some more wine" hangover most of the day, really stupid of me. Ate 'ok' but not bootcamp-worthy and didn't start the exercise DVD I had meant to.

Hoping to lose a bit over two stone by summer but would be really happy to kick some of my issues with food. LC is great for me as the quick initial loss is really motivating but I have a tendency towards self-sabotage.

Weight has rocketed in the last year (multiple stone), and I am so ready to address it.

Thumbwitch · 19/01/2015 23:50

Thanks for filling me in, Sayra! :) Thanks

Breakfast (late) - yoghurt
Lunch will be another omelette
Dinner will be turkey thing - probably a stew thing - with swede and celeriac either cooked in, or mashed separately.

MontserratCaballe · 20/01/2015 06:31

Just weighed myself - no idea what it is in lbs but too many stone! Oh dear! However, I have been here before and lost it so I feel optimistic.

It is very cold here, with a hard frost but no snow. Hope everyone is warm and safe.

Good luck for day 2, folks.

RandomHouseRules · 20/01/2015 06:54

Morning all. So good to hear how everyone is doing. Day one went well here. DH is also joining in - it really helps that he has seen this work before. Yesterday had
b: scrambled egg with spinach
L: salad with avocado, goats cheese and half a black farmer sausage, olive oil
D: salmon cooked with leeks and a little green pepper, served with creamed mushrooms an d French beans fried in garlic, with may. Yum.
Snacks - I had a baby bel late morning and actually I think that's all!

Today
B: I have made some mini frittata things with mushrooms and spinach which I am about to go and reheat
l: salad with avocado and some other lac bits
D: not sure yet. Chicken and sthg probably.

Happy day Al!

costababe · 20/01/2015 06:59

Morning all, we have frost too Montserrat and it's very chilly, that's the worst time for me don't like salads in the cold, thank god for cauli mashSmile
B was cheese crisps with ham slices
L will be pepper and cheeses and mushroom frittata, no salad BIWI as on the run today
D chilli wrapped in cabbage leaves with cheese sauce and extra veg

That's the plan so far plus loads of water
Good luck everyone

Fatstacks · 20/01/2015 07:05

Morning Smile
One coffee in with no sweetener, it looks like you guys were right and it gets better!
Made a slip yesterday, had a dolce gusto lemon tea which tasted like it had sugar in so will skip those.
Only managed half the 3.5 litres though and had two glasses almong milk before bed instead of malty drink.
Today will be.
B. Egg bacon and mushrooms with Philadelphia.
L. Salad with ham and cheese.
D. Tbc!

Have a great day 2 Smile

ElectraCute · 20/01/2015 07:13

Morning all! After my lightbulb disaster y'day my planning didn't get much better Grin

Lunch was prawns, mayo, cheese, cucumber and a small pot Greek yog.

Dinner was carbonara (mushrooms, bacon, garlic, cheese and cream) with Savoy cabbage ribbons to replace the pasta.

Drinks were liquorice tea (excellent when you need something sweet) and probably not enough water.

we will gloss over the incident with the chocolate brownie (it was flourless though!)

Social obligation sugar is a bugger. But today is a new day! On my way to a breakfast meeting that will be 90% pastry. Am determined not to succumb - just need to remind myself how great I feel when I'm not bloated by sugar and wheat.

Mrsstevejones · 20/01/2015 07:19

Feel good today and woke up early - hopefully this is the spurt of energy kicking in.

I attempted to do jillians yoga meltdown and oh my word. I managed the first 16 mins - i might set completing the dvd as my first fitness goal!

to keep hubby on board i have bacon, sausage and egg in oven for breakfast - he was very impressed this is part of the woe.

good luck everyone

Littleorangetree · 20/01/2015 07:24

Morning everyone! LCing is going ok food wise I think but I definitely need to stop procrastinating and get going with some exercise. I ned to dig out 30 day shred again - BIWI I may need a bit of threatening with that big stick of yours to face Jillian...!!

B: 2 boiled eggs mashed with butter
L: will be chicken salad with avocado, lettuce and mayo
D: will be something made from lamb mince and veg

Need to keep glugging the water too and not leaving it all til the evening. Have a good day all!

FurFoxAke · 20/01/2015 07:28

Morning!
I think I might be coming down with the carb flu already! Is that even possible so soon?
Meh, if it means I come out the other side of it quicker then so be it.

Breakfast has been a buttery duck egg in a cup and BPC with cream.
A whole chicken leg, salad and mayo for dinner
Hmmmmmm, tea. I'm not sure but some sort of animal and veg with butter. Grin

Take care everyone and have a great day!

BIWI · 20/01/2015 07:29

You don't have to exercise to lose weight, by the way! Don't feel that there's any obligation to exercise when you're on Bootcamp. And you may find exercise hard going in the first couple of weeks of Bootcamp anyway

Massa there's a lovely recipe for moussaka on the recipe thread - it's from the Idiot Proof Diet cookbook (which I heartily recommend!)

YoureMyWife A&E?! You're forgiven then!

OP posts:
BIWI · 20/01/2015 07:34

I'm glad everyone is feeling positive, but there are three things I've noticed already:

  • lack of planning/meal planning
  • not drinking enough water
  • cheating those chocolate brownies are not for Bootcamp!

Planning your food/meals is really, really important on this WOE. Because the world isn't made for low carbers, most of the foods you're likely to have to hand or find on the go will not be low carb - in fact they are likely to be the very opposite.

Water is essential for aiding weight loss. It's not just something random that we tell you! I know it can be hard if you're suddenly having to down large quantities, but you will see much better results if you can manage it.

Cheating. This WOE is very, very, unforgiving when it comes to cheating. And it's especially important in these first two weeks when we're forcing our bodies to switch away from carbs to fat. Two things will happen if you cheat during this period of time. Firstly you won't lose weight. Second, you are just delaying the switching process. So all you're doing is sabotaging yourself.

Here's to a good day for us all Flowers

Good morning all. Great to see so many people posting menus. I need inspiration. I started BC two weeks ago and have lost 10lbs so I definitely know it works but imagine my weight loss will slow down now. Yesterday I had

Breakfast :Scrambled eggs in cream and butter with broccoli
Lunch: leftover belly pork and cauliflower mash
Dinner: Prawn, mushroom and spinach curry with cauliflower rice.

Today will be

Breakfast : coffee with cream, and egg muffin with spinach
Lunch: tuna mayo salad
Dinner :sausage, broccoli and mashed cauliflower for me and mash for the kids

Romeyroo · 20/01/2015 07:36

It is really great how many of you have DHs joining inSmile. I am loving the fact that they get that it works! I am single with two dcs and one of the benefits of this woe is cutting down their sugar. I did not realise how much of it was in even the most unexpected places. DC2s behaviour has improved remarkably so he is now on a complete sugar free diet because he reacts to even a small bit. DC1 is harder to persuade although I can see the improvement in her skin (pre-teen breakouts). What is not to like?

I didn't drink enough water yesterday so I need to focus more on that today. All the best to everyone today!

readyforno2 · 20/01/2015 07:43

Not in the theatre Sayra. It's at Newlands. Closer to my neck of the woods Grin wouldn't fancy driving down there when it's so cold.
It is more toney I suppose. My legs are feeling it a little today. Maybe once I get a bit better I'll feel it more. There are only four of us in the class so it's nice and quiet.

Fatstacks · 20/01/2015 07:44

Thanks BIWI keeping focused now Smile

TurnOverTheTv · 20/01/2015 07:49

Plan for today.

Davina 7 minute fit
B-bacon & eggs
L-chicken & avocado salad with Mayo
D-twice baked mashed cauliflower with cheese, bacon & spring onions and a piece of grilled chicken with garlic butter

Good luck everyone!

ClashCityRocker · 20/01/2015 07:51

Morning all:

B: scrambled eggs and smoked salmon, BPC
L: tuna salad with low carb mayo
D: chicken with brocoli, cabbage with butter

readyforno I thought ballet was quite demanding? Never tried it though, I must admit...I have no coordination.

prettybird · 20/01/2015 07:57

BIWI getting her Big Stick out already Shock!

Fear her, fear her Wink

readyforno2 · 20/01/2015 07:58

It's just my second class clash.
I think once I've picked it up a bit more I will feel it.
