Evening everyone. I hope you're all ready, prepared and raring to go!

Here is the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness:

for you to enter your starting weight

Have a good look at the tabs at the bottom, as there you will find the rules, the list of allowed veg and lots of other really useful information.

I've also started the questions thread , so if you have anything you need to ask, that's the best place to ask it. The chat threads move really quickly in the first weeks, so this thread is the best place to ask your questions.

And this time around, I thought it might be useful to have a thread to post about good/interesting low carb products that you come across:

Here

Good luck!

I don't know sarah I don't have an ipad, that was what I was wondering. It would be good if I could fix it as this is a big BC so don't want to spend all my spare time checking the thread and updating people.

I've added your weight and sounds like you've been doing well Smile

BIWI · 19/01/2015 20:53

Amaxapax AND ANYONE ELSE WHO IS CURRENTLY IN WEEK 3 OR 4 OF LOW CARBING

It's very, very common for weight loss to stop or temporarily reverse at this point. Please don't panic, keep on keeping on, and it will be fine.

And what is 'cloud bread'? Could this be contributing to your current gain?

galbraith why the need to plan snacks in? With this WOE you shouldn't be feeling hungry between meals. If you are regularly feeling hungry then you're not eating enough at mealtimes, and/or you aren't eating enough fat

Welcome vdibley! Four cups of tea could add up to quite a lot of milk - and so quite a lot of carbs. Can you try dropping to two?

MrsKoala how about sending him in with some cooked sausages? (Obviously they'd have to be low carb sausages!)

Grah see my previous post to mrsstevejones! Just weigh once a day - AT MOST!!! and make it first thing. And how much fat is in your food? It doesn't sound like you're having much - that could just be how you've posted, but it's really, really important.

Mushroom that sounds good

lurking - you shouldn't be having a 3pm slump on this WOE if you're doing it properly. What have you eaten today if you're still feeling it? Are you sure it's a slump, or is snacking at that time of day just a habit for you?

costa not much veg or salad going on in your meals - you do need to make sure that you are getting plenty of these so you're getting proper nutrition.

Clash - where's your breakfast?! Oh, and I often make cauliflower 'couscous' - it's great! Make sure you use plenty of fat in it.

Welcome back, Attitcus!

WireCat you may not get carb flu; not everyone does. If you do, it will probably be in the next 2-3 days. Follow the advice that's posted here about eating salt, magnesium and potassium and you should get through it fine.

Ok, I've had a wee search.

Do those of you with ipads (and spreadsheet issues) have the Google Drive App for ipad/iphones installed?

OR is there anyone using an ipad who CAN edit the spreadsheet

I have found a lot of complaints about lack of editing ability of google docs spreadsheets using ipads.

coconut porridge

100ml coconut milk
25g ground almonds
25g dessicated coconut
dash of double cream

2 minutes in the microwave or on the hob in a saucepan.

Smile
fitflopqueen · 19/01/2015 20:56

Signing in, need to weigh in tomorrow morning.
B - Scrambled eggs - handful of spinach
L - Cauliflower soup, added some stilton and cream
D - Roast pork, stir fried with some spinach, onion, chili, soy
S - Pork crackling, thanks hubby. 1 tsp peanut butter.
about 2 L of water and 2 coffees with cream, feeling full

BIWI · 19/01/2015 20:56

My day:

B - 2 hard boiled eggs, hashed with a lovely big lump of Lurpak
L - 2 Black Farmer sausages, with leftover red cabbage, braised with shallots and raspberry vinegar, and leeks in cream cheese sauce
D - wasn't quite what I planned as I didn't get home until well after 7, so ended up having 2 more sausages, with green salad and cauliflower cheese.

(No flour was harmed in the making of my cheese sauce)

BIWI I think 'cloud bread' is another name for oopsie rolls so it is fine Smile

TheGrinchWearsStripes · 19/01/2015 21:01

I am not in the slightest bit hungry, but if am still salivating over some of the food descriptions here! I am so stealing some of these ideas.

Today's intake:
B scrambled egg and prosciutto
L salad, beef and guacamole (I checked the label, it's a low carb one!)
D 2 sausages, stir-fry mushroom and broccoli (in butter and oak-smoked oil) followed by celery and cheese wrapped in prosciutto

And copious water. There may be a resulting water shortage in my neighbourhood...

lurkingmurking · 19/01/2015 21:11

It's definitely just habit. I wasn't hungry but bored really!

BestIsWest · 19/01/2015 21:14

Sayra I'm using an iPad. Nothing in the spreadsheet responds to me at all. I can't type anything let alone save it. In previous bootcamps I had the odd problem with the spreadsheet but I could usually edit and save from the ipad.

YoureMyWifeNowDave · 19/01/2015 21:15

Todays food

B - coffee with double cream
L - chicken breast with mayo
D - salmon in dill butter, leeks cooked in double cream and soft cheese, swede mashed with butter
Snack - coffee with cream and am contemplating having some pork scratchings too

BIWI · 19/01/2015 21:19

YoureMyWife = where is your breakfast?! And why no veg/salad with your lunch?

OP posts:
BestIsWest · 19/01/2015 21:21

sayra I didn't have the Google drive app but I've now installed it but it hasn't made any difference.

SayraT · 19/01/2015 21:24

Oh well, it was worth a try best just thought that might be it Confused

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 19/01/2015 21:36

B - cup of tea as not hungry
L - leftover mashed swede with butter, bacon and raw cauliflower
D - leftover roast chicken, roasted veg, homemade guacamole, creme fraiche and a sprinkling of grated cheese. The dinner I described is basically chicken fajita's without the wrap.

No snacks needed today, but I think that's because I was doing BCL last week, so my appetite has started to reduce already.

I need to start doing some more meal planning as I'm flying by the seat of my pants a bit at the moment. I also need to up the water consumption as well I think. Actually I probably need to note down what I drink as I don't have a clue how much I'm drinking - quite a lot I think, but I don't know if its's enough.

costababe · 19/01/2015 21:39

BIWI thanks for the salad / veg reminder!
I had steak and cauliflower cheese with mushrooms and broccoli for tea and have just made a pepper, shallot and cheese fritatta for lunch tomorrow so will pack a small salad too. Have had the munchies today!!
I really struggle with the need for something sweet, yikes.
Off to bed so I don't have something inappropriate Hmm

lavenderhoney · 19/01/2015 21:44

I've finally filled in my weight on the spreadsheet of fabulousness:)

Today wasn't great in terms of time to eat as massive rush on and meetings which were all last minute - but tomorrow will be better because I'm going running after work then straight to collect dc and I will be having a proper LC breakfast, but no lunch as I have to go running. I will have some lc snacks in the car for after though, plus a vat of water:)

  • 2 coffees with cream and some Brie.
  • lunch coffee with cream
  • snack - 3 olives
  • mussels in cream and butter ( dc had a few chips) and salad.

Water. Getting back into drinking loads of water.

MoJangled · 19/01/2015 21:45

Hello dear chums old and new!

Bimbled along quite happily over Christmas, basically LCing but not resisting the odd glass of wine, slice of Xmas cake or Satsuma too hard. 2 lb up as a result but I'm not too pissed off with that. Very happy to be back on the wagon and think I'm still fat-adapted so hoping not too many transition issues heading my way.

Today:
Coffee with cream, 3x scrambled eggs with butter in office microwave
Artichoke hearts, olive oil and leftover gammon
Chicken and veg stir-fry with cauli rice in coconut oil
Loads of water

Bring. It. On.

TurnOverTheTv · 19/01/2015 21:57

Posted earlier in the prep thread, totally forgot I should be over here :-)
B-Ham, olives, Gouda, tomatoes
L-Chicken and avocado salad
D-Tom Ka soup with shredded chicken
3 litres of water
No snacks as I haven't needed them

Week 1 - January Low Carb Bootcamp: and we're off!
lurkingmurking · 19/01/2015 21:58

I feel like I've over indulged today a bit but have stuck to the rules

B: 2 egg fried in butter, coffee with cream
L: 3 chicken drumsticks and roasted veg
D: rib eye steak, cream leeks, courgettes in olive oil
S: 2 sticks cheddar, Milano salami, M&S crispy bacon, cherry toms
W: 3.5l

BestIsWest · 19/01/2015 21:59

Don't witty sayra it won't kill me to get the laptop out of the cupboard once a week Smile.

galbraith · 19/01/2015 22:00

Day one down, only slight error was having a teaspoon of chutney with my curry! I'm feeling pretty good and wasn't even hungry after my hideous circuits class - had to make myself eat, which is pretty unusual.

I had a spoonful of coconut oil for my pudding, this is the best weight-loss method ever Grin

vdibley · 19/01/2015 22:04

B: ham and cream cheese roll
L: 3 egg omelette with spinach, tomato and cheese
D: pork chop w salad (oil only), broccoli and cauliflower,
W: 3L
2 x mugs tea + milk

Mouth feels a bit furry and I've already had doze on couch, so missed first half of Broadchurch. Bed soon!

Romeyroo · 19/01/2015 22:05

You are all doing so well! I have just muddled through today. I don't have a starting weight as no scales, and am not on spreadsheet, but am aiming for 2 inches of my hips and waist (have been stuck at same measurement for about six weeks).

So, too much going on and no meal planning, I have managed:

B: three hard boiled eggs
L: salad for lunch, including feta and more egg (it was from a salad bar so was avoiding the pasta type choices)
D: chicken slices, bacon bits on top of spiralised cucumber with mayo.
Coffee x2

I have not had any dark chocolate yet which is a major plus for me; not so good on the water, maybe 2L so need to get more drunk.
