Evening everyone. I hope you're all ready, prepared and raring to go!

Here is the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness:

for you to enter your starting weight

Have a good look at the tabs at the bottom, as there you will find the rules, the list of allowed veg and lots of other really useful information.

I've also started the questions thread , so if you have anything you need to ask, that's the best place to ask it. The chat threads move really quickly in the first weeks, so this thread is the best place to ask your questions.

And this time around, I thought it might be useful to have a thread to post about good/interesting low carb products that you come across:

Here

Good luck!

If you are finding yourself thirsty but still drinking litres of water this is a sign that you need more sodium.

And re dry skin - you should be seeing exactly the opposite! If you're eating enough fat and drinking enough water you should not have this. I suppose it could be a transition thing - but these are both things to consider.

Bitchy, I am on week 3. I have bootcamped before, 2 years ago and knew all about stalling, but I didnt gain weight before :( I am having a party at the end of next month and really wanted to lose weight for that, and it is disheartening to see the scales go up when I know I could have probably lost over a stone by now on SW (I lose weight quicker on that, I just dont feel as healthy). As I have 10 stone to lose, going up 4lbs is not good. Will stick with it though, as I do feel better on this woe. Need to hold on to that as its the only reason I am continuing.

BitchyTakesOnManagement · 25/01/2015 12:27

Sorry Attitcus. It is hard when it happens. BIWI is better abled to help if you list out your food. She really is a keen eyed trouble shooter.

AttitcusFinchIsMyFather · 25/01/2015 12:35

Thanks BIWI, I really do want to stick to this WOE, it just demotivates when you see the scale creep up. I lost 11lbs in the first week & a half, and have now gained 4lbs since then. Not TOTM.

Thur - B - Lidl greek yogurt, chai seeds sprinkle
L - Crayfish mayo lettuce wraps
S - 10 almonds (im week 3, so a wee bit of Lite)
D - burgers with cheese & bacon, salad & homemade coleslaw

Fri - B - Ham & Cheese slices
L - Prawn salad, 2 hard boiled eggs
D - Steak & creamy mushroom garlic sauce, salad, coleslaw
S- 1 square of dark choc

Sat - B - bacon & eggs
s - chicken drumstick
L - gammon steak, fried eggs & salad (eaten at a Brewers Fayre place)
D - Just the crackling from a pork roast as not very hungry.

I also drink loads of green/mint tea with a drop of coconut oil and loads of water.

Mrsstevejones, I've been reading about dry skin on low carb diets, and there's some suggestion that it could be an allergic response - have you been eating a lot of dairy?

Or, the other thing I've seen, is an association with candida die-off - when you were eating a high carb diet were you suffering with thrush at all?

Otherwise, generally the advice is the same - plenty of fat and lots of water. Coconut oil is suggested - both in terms of eating it but also using it on your skin.

Interesting about the dry skin theory. I have come out in a patch of eczema on my chin. I have been putting Sudocrem on it but it's not made any difference. Think I'll try coconut oil next... I have plenty in the pantry.

AttitcusFinchIsMyFather · 25/01/2015 12:55

Yummy tuna melts on lettuce wraps for lunch!

AttitcusFinchIsMyFather · 25/01/2015 13:03

How much will a large spoon of haggis set me back, do you think? DH & kids having it for tea tonight, I have sausages to go with my neeps but really want some haggis!

readyforno2 · 25/01/2015 13:09

I was wondering the same thing Atticus. Stupidly forgot to buy some for tonight but having a burns snack at work tomorrow

BIWI · 25/01/2015 13:12

It's pretty carby I think - doesn't it have barley or oats in it? I'll see what I can find out.

In the meantime, Today's blog

Tesco's is 15.3g per 100g .

So it obviously depends on how much you're planning on having! It's quite dense, so a spoonful could yield a lot of carbs. Just go easy on the other veg/carbs that you have today and it should be OK.

Will treat myself to a tiny portion then, and keep the rest of my carbs mega low. Thanks!

MrsKoala · 25/01/2015 13:37

I keep seeing coleslaw on everyones list and it's making me crave it - Can anyone share their favourite LC coleslaw recipe with me please?

I've got a veggie friend coming for lunch tomo, So i think i may do a courgette, pepper and mozzarella frittata and salad and coleslaw.

thenightsky · 25/01/2015 13:49

Home made tuna burgers with salad for lunch (hopefully) They are current frying and I think they are too wet to keep their shape. They are going to be one big mess instead of four little burgers Grin

Notso · 25/01/2015 14:42

Just wondering what cream cheese is used in the pancakes? Would Mascarpone or Philadelphia do?

AttitcusFinchIsMyFather · 25/01/2015 14:54

MrsKoala - I make mine from white cabbage, shredded finely, half a carrot, grated and 4 spring onions, chopped. Pour over a bit of olive oil & a tiny drop of cider vinegar (any would work, though not malt!) and allow to sit to "cook" the cabbage. Then I dollop in mayo & mix. Makes a tub that lasts me a few days.

MrsKoala · 25/01/2015 15:23

Thanks Atticus - is that a whole white cabbage?

lurkingmurking · 25/01/2015 15:24

Notso I just used philly

Mrsstevejones · 25/01/2015 15:30

Hi BIWI, loads of coconut oil and gallons of water! I did try coco oil on my face and it was lovely and i smelt nice. Might keep it up but as previously very spotty skin was worried about aggravating it. Going for a very nice facial as treat, so see what they say.

I did used to get thrush frequently and i def noticed a link between sugar consumption and thrush, so that could be cause.

On the dairy front, i was being very good but have had a couple of heavy dairy days. Damn dont want to be allergic as bloody love cheese and its my fall back. Never ever ate cream and now i love that too and ff yog - will have to be more moderate and see if that helps. Thanks for the advice

DurhamDurham · 25/01/2015 15:32

I've just made egg friend cauli rice. I fried onions, red peppers, mushrooms and green beans. I added an entire grated cauliflower and fried for a further 8 mins. Then I added a chopped up 2 egg omelette that I made earlier and served with roast chicken. The whole family, including fussy dd2, said it was absolutely lovely and nothing was left. I'll. E making that again during the week.

ijustwanttobeme · 25/01/2015 15:44

Also slept in.

Did 45 mins on the bike, then had bacon, egg and mushrooms for a very late breakfast.

Ham, olives and artichokes salad for lunch.

Not sure what's for dinner yet.

I cant remember when I weighed myself last week - am or pm. Think I'll do am- aren't you supposed to weigh less in the morning? Confused

AttitcusFinchIsMyFather · 25/01/2015 15:44

MrsKoala, no, I use about a quarter of a large cabbage. Depends how cabbagey you want it though! I do it all by sight.

LexLoofah · 25/01/2015 16:08

mrs koala I also add radish and turnip to coleslaw or celeriac or fennel and sometimes caraway seeds - helps if you have a food processor, as that is a lot of grating! I used attachment on my kitchen aid, good to be able use for other than baking, thought it would collect dust on lc

WireCat · 25/01/2015 16:27

Hello all.

Breakfast was 2 boiled eggs mixed with butter and a coffee with cream.
Lunch was salad leaves & cucumber with chicken thighs, some olives a bit if feta & mayonnaise.
Dinner will be roast chicken, roast celeriac, creamy leeks, green beans in butter & brocolli.

lurkingmurking · 25/01/2015 16:46

BIWI do we add our weights tomorrow to this thread and the spreadsheet or will we have a week 2 thread?
