Evening everyone. I hope you're all ready, prepared and raring to go!

Here is the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness:

for you to enter your starting weight

Have a good look at the tabs at the bottom, as there you will find the rules, the list of allowed veg and lots of other really useful information.

I've also started the questions thread , so if you have anything you need to ask, that's the best place to ask it. The chat threads move really quickly in the first weeks, so this thread is the best place to ask your questions.

And this time around, I thought it might be useful to have a thread to post about good/interesting low carb products that you come across:

Here

Good luck!

Thanks Lex I made the pancakes instead of scrambled egg for brekkie and they were delish with smoked salmon and butter.

Also tried a green smoothie - last one I'll ever be having Grin

sassandfaff · 25/01/2015 08:36

13.13. Woohoo

Grin
Mrsstevejones · 25/01/2015 08:44

The pancakes sound nice i might try them in a bit for breakfast, DH having a lie in after doing the night shift with the kiddies -god i love him!

Do they taste eggy?- cant abide the flavour or texture.

Has any found that their skin has gone dry? I am usually quite a greasy person but my skin is looking flakey and a bit lined (more). I would have though all the lovely oils, avocados and butter would make me more greasy not less -is it just an adjustment thing??

Lurking - green smoothies are an acquired taste, i have been having them since sept and now i love them but a bit of fruit def improves them. I tend to stick to a few tried and tested recipes as i did cucumber with yog the other day and it was exactly like drinking a massive watery glass of tzatziki (sp)

Mrsstevejones · 25/01/2015 08:46

Well done sass!!! Yay in the 13`s!

According to the gym i am 1lb up from my weight earlier in the week but i am going to put that down to wet hair from swimming! I aim to join you by end of next week.

NaturalBlondeYeahRight · 25/01/2015 08:48

Morning, just checking in. Haven't weighed myself this week but not feeling hopeful - might be wrong.
Anyway, I have a question for you longtermers. I'm drinking my 3.5l no problem now after finding it really hard at the beginning (nov) but now I feel thirsty all the time. Is this normal?
Before this woe I only had about 1l a day max.

AttitcusFinchIsMyFather · 25/01/2015 08:50

I do my swede in the microwave - put it in just as it is, for 7/8 minutes, then turn over & another 7/8 minutes. Then scoop the insides out! So easy, no mess, no chopping!

RatherBeOnThePiste · 25/01/2015 08:53

Just checking in Brew

Yayyy for the 13s!

prettybird · 25/01/2015 08:59

Naturalblonde - yes, that can happen - I've suffered from it too. It's quite common.

It's a warning sign that you are low on salt (and potassium?): you need to add more to your food. Having some stock cube/Bovril/Marmite drinks also helps. I think avocado and kale are also good sources of the missing minerals.

lurkingmurking · 25/01/2015 09:09

Yay for 13s sass!

sassandfaff · 25/01/2015 09:11

Thanks mrssteve I went up and down for a week or so, but now it's 2 days in a row that I've gone down. So I'm sure it will be the same for you. Looking forward to your woohoo for 13. Smile

natural I'm drinking more water than ever and I'm thirsty all the time too. (Lips chapped)

prettybird so I'm probably low on minerals as well then?

There is no way I can drink oxo etc. I'll have to Google other sources. I do salt things a lot though. So maybe it's the other minerals I'm low on.

sassandfaff · 25/01/2015 09:12

Thanks lurking

NaturalBlondeYeahRight · 25/01/2015 09:17

Thanks for reply, Glad it's not just me then. I'll add a bit more, see if it helps. I also got some magnesium in boots yesterday, as I read your body can get a bit depleted on this (and helps keep things moving iykwim)
Well done for getting into next stone. Love going over a barrier like that!

ChesterDrawers · 25/01/2015 09:22

Morning all,

Well done to those of you who've faced tough challenges and come out unscathed this weekend, it's so hard but you all sound like you've done great.

Hope your DS is feeling ok today Bitchy

Today's plan:

B: avocado, parma ham, Mayo
L: omelette with veggies of some kind, bacon, a little cheese, salad and olive oil
D: slow cooker chicken, swede mash, roast broccoli, maybe leeks

Fatstacks · 25/01/2015 09:29

Good Morning Campers

Hope DS is ok Bitchy?

Applause for all the eating/ evening out successes!
And congrats for the 13 Sass !!

Boring evening for me no DP until after 9pm so downloaded the book for Wolf Hall to read before I watch on TV.
But started playing Hearthstone while I waited so wasted the evening on that, advantage being I can't eat and play so no disaster Grin

B. Eggs boiled and buttered.
L. Ham and pate with salad.
D. Not Haggis neeps and tatties! Will have leftover something cornedbeef and veg.

Have a good un fellow Campers Smile

MrsKoala · 25/01/2015 09:30

Morning all! I haven't read the thread yet, just wanted to quickly post and disappear into the depths of RL...
Hope everyone is ok.
Yesterday..
Breakfast: duck egg, sausage BPC
Lunch: bacon, egg, big mushroom, 1/2 beef tomato
Tea: Parma ham wraps. (Salad leaves and mozerella wrapped in Parma ham)
3 litres of water easy. Maybe a bit more.

Today,
Breakfast: BPC and buttery duck egg
Lunch: roast chicken and loads of buttery broccoli and cauliflower. Made all the nicer for me not having made it Grin
Tea: hopefully I will save some leftover chicken and veg and have that.

Good luck everyone and keeeeep losing!

BeyondDoesBootcamp · 25/01/2015 10:03

Breakfast - green tea with mint, green eggs and ham Grin (scrambled egg with cream, spinach, green pepper, chorizo)

Mrsstevejones · 25/01/2015 10:09

Just made the pancakes and yum! I made one plain, one with cinnamon - nice and my favourite with parmesan and loads of cold butter. They tasted just like pancakes, for some reason i was expecting scotch style pancakes. DH not too keen but thats because he associated them with sugar. DD had them with jam but she just sucked the jam out but then she is 3!

Sass - i had really badly chapped lips and yesterday i bought some blistex or blisteze - something like that and they are back to normal today.

Just having my BPC, so loads of butter this morning and i am not envisaging being hungry until supper time!

Have a fab sunday everyone. Excited for weigh in.

cymrukernow · 25/01/2015 10:43

Mrssteve pancakes sound great I was looking for more interesting egg recipes, it can get a bit boring!

Today-
b- nothing ( had a lie in. DD has chickenpox ?? so restless night for both of us. )
Brunch - slice of ham, egg, loads of raw spinach and spoonful Mayo)
Lunch- going to have nicoise salad without pots,
Dinner- chicken and veg
Snack will be bowl of Greek yoghurt. Cheese

Hope you all have a great Sunday well done everyone for getting thru week 1!

DrDiva · 25/01/2015 10:54

Morning everyone. Didn't get to post much yesterday as I was out all day with the tireless and fearless DS! We were both utterly knackered when we got home, but it was a wonderful day with several of his favourite things including spiral slides and trains. It was easy to take my lunch (of cloud bread sandwich with smoked sausage, mayo and gherkins) as I have to for DS anyway. Funnily enough, I find the soya intolerance a bit more inconvenient than the dairy allergy, as it means I can't just nip in anywhere and ask for a butter less sandwich - the bread might have soya flour.

Anyway. We had tapas last night. Sadly DH is violently anti olives so they didn't make it onto the plate, but we had a ham selection, manchego cheese, squid rings, albondigas. And lettuce, tomato and cucumber make a good alternative to bread!

Sorry haven't read the thread properly, will prob do when DS is down for a nap.

readyforno2 · 25/01/2015 11:24

Thanks lex, going to go up to the shop and get some cream cheese. Getting really bored of scrambled eggs and omelettes.

readyforno2 · 25/01/2015 11:25

Hope ds is doing ok this morning bitchy?

lurkingmurking · 25/01/2015 11:48

Lex you're a genius! I've just used the leftover pancakes as a 'wrap' for some ham - delish!

BitchyTakesOnManagement · 25/01/2015 11:54

Sorry ds allowed me to sleep until 11:30. He is fine if somewhat put out by my lecture about stuff on the floor being dangerous and my insistence his room is made spotless and cleaned top to bottom today Grin I gave up on concussion watch about 4:30am and went to bed (did set an alarm but slept though it) Ds got up at 7am. We have both agreed it is best he gives training a skip today thank fuck as i am tired

Can I ask those who have put on weight: which week off bootcamp are you on? have you done a lot of different diets in the past?

I ask these because bootcamps have found that some people require a few weeks to get their metabolism to settle down if they have been on a lot of diets/some specific diets. Also weeks 3-5 can see a body adjustment and adaptation to the woe which slows down weight loss. In both cases the whoosh fairy does tend to turn up if you are patient and continue to stick to the rules. But you really have to stick to the rules.

BIWI · 25/01/2015 12:20

Atticus and Rocky sorry to hear that you've seen things reverse this week.

List out for me your meals/drinks over the last few days and let me see if I can help in any way.
