Evening everyone. I hope you're all ready, prepared and raring to go!

Here is the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness:

for you to enter your starting weight

Have a good look at the tabs at the bottom, as there you will find the rules, the list of allowed veg and lots of other really useful information.

I've also started the questions thread , so if you have anything you need to ask, that's the best place to ask it. The chat threads move really quickly in the first weeks, so this thread is the best place to ask your questions.

And this time around, I thought it might be useful to have a thread to post about good/interesting low carb products that you come across:

Here

Good luck!

Good Morning Smile

Up early with twatting earache. I would make a rubbish toddler.

Basked in the revalation of corned beef yesterday so ate far too much but at least it wasn't carbs.

Still struggling on the water so I'm trying a new tac today.
I'm laying out on the teacoffeesugar jobby 12 assorted fruit tea bags.

Being from the Peoples Republic of Yorkshire it's a personal affront not to drink tea when it's offered.

Made a note saying "Make me one of these while you're eyer" popped it behind tea bags, so people will hand me the tea.

Thus invoking PRY commandment thou shalt not waste tha tea. Grin

B. Yoghurt L. Chicken D. Pulled pork S. Will be corned beef.

Have a good un today

DrDiva · 24/01/2015 07:04

fatstacks I think most toddlers make rubbish toddlers when they have earache! Grin so sorry you are suffering. Can you get antibiotics?

For the first time in ages DS slet through! Ok, he woke at 5:30 but I guess you can't have everything. So he is currently watching Milkshake while I enjoy coffee with cream.

ChesterDrawers · 24/01/2015 07:37

Kid's party and out for a meal with friends later. Tough day ahead, but will do my best to navigate it.

First two weeks of Jan bootcamp are always a nightmare for me - birthdays for DH, DM and DNeice. Seem to remember I totally cocked it up this time last year.

Will have a few wines tonight and next Sat too (DH birthday) but planning dry February to make up for it.

BestIsWest · 24/01/2015 07:38

Yikes, according to the scales I have put 10 pounds on since yesterday. I think someone has fiddled with them as I know that's not possible. i had lost 3 yesterday. I've adjusted them a bit so a couple have gone off. I am a bit constipated but that's ridiculous.

The thing is whilst I know it's the scales themselves being inaccurate, in my head I feel so gutted.

EhricLovesTheBhrothers · 24/01/2015 07:42

Have dropped 3lb on the scales in 2 days, is that water?

mumtoblaire · 24/01/2015 07:45

Day off work and up at 7.30am. Brilliant nights sleep and for the first time in years went to bed on a friday night with NO alcohol in my system and before 10pm. Almost 9hrs sleep.

B - cup of tea and 2 slice Gouda with big dollop of Guacamole

Fatstacks · 24/01/2015 08:05

The doc gave me an antibiotic spay placebo so I'm hoping that has the desired effect DrD

I'm really over egging it I have a scarf wrapped around it I look like a confused Pudsey bear.
Grin

TeapotDictator · 24/01/2015 08:11

Best - Shock - well, the good news is that those readings CANNOT be in any way factual. Are you weighing on a totally flat surface? I find that almost all scales need to be placed on a tiled/smooth and flat surface otherwise they give ridiculous variations. I bought some Fitbit scales about a year ago at stupidly vast expense, and even they are totally inaccurate on wooden floorboards for example. Are they digital scales? If you're going to weigh please please make sure you have good ones, there's no point spending the day feeling gutted when it's just a case of crappy scales.

Thumbwitch · 24/01/2015 08:27

OK, so after my yoghurt and cherry breakfast, I had fried salmon and swede-and-celeriac mash for lunch. Was going to add egg but couldn't quite face it. Very nice without it anyway - added 1/4 block of Boursin instead Grin
Afternoon snack was a sausage at a party we went to.
Dinner was Chinese stir fry duck and stir fry beef and veg - no rice for me, I heated up konjac noodles for me instead. Not ideal I know. Blush
And then double cream (solidified) and cherries.
Reasonable amount of water but still not 3L.

SarahBeenysBumblingApprentice · 24/01/2015 08:39

Morning everyone.

I was born in Yorkshire fatstacks and the loss of a good cup of tea upset me initially when I started low carbing! I've trained myself to drink it black because milk seems to stall me really badly.

best those scales just cannot be right. What about making sure they're in exactly the same place every day? Or new scales?

Last night I had cauliflower egg fried rice and it was delicious- better then real rice actually. Broccoli, mushrooms, roast chicken, sausage cauli rice and egg, bit of soy and cooked in olive oil. Plus some chilli. Yum. Don't know why I never had this before, it felt like proper treat food!

BeyondDoesBootcamp · 24/01/2015 08:48

Grr, not enough sleep and now ds has to go dancing so i have to get up to look aft ds2 :(
and bad sleep = very painful joints. :(

BIWI · 24/01/2015 08:54

Best you definitely can't have put 10lbs on overnight! It's surely got to be your scales!

Fatstacks I hope you're eating some veg/salad with your meals?

Thumbwitch you can have berries, but only on Bootcamp Light Grin

You know, it's not so much about the carbs, but about the fact that we're trying to switch ourselves out of the whole sweet tooth thing.

When I was in Vietnam a couple of weeks ago, they said that the cable delivering internet to Asia had been damaged by sharks eating it! No idea if that was true.

MovedtoIstanbul - I'm really sorry to read your post, and you sound very down Sad I know exactly what you mean about work and your self-worth. Don't be too hard on yourself in your situation - in the overall scheme of things, it's about not sweating the small stuff.

Have a look at your prospective week, and see how much you can plan ahead - I know I don't advocate them but Atkins bars (if you can get hold of them, or something similar) can be a useful standby in your handbag, and at least you know you've got something low carb in extremis.

Chin up - hopefully next week is a better week. Flowers

Hi just found you all, is it too late to join? Just realised I've been calorie counting for two weeks and I weigh slightly more than I did when I started, not really surprised as I'm terrible in the evenings at the moment, a whole bag of bacon fries last night Blush

Thumbwitch · 24/01/2015 09:02

Wow BIWI - I actually find that more believable though, I think our shiteola internet/phone company Telstra are just shit and making shit up! Sharks eating the cables though - that's a good one. Grin
I know I know re the berries but the cherries will be all gorn by then...
If you'd only tasted them you would understand. I will make sure I don't eat them every day. And I am losing even with them.

BIWI · 24/01/2015 09:21

Welcome Dont! Just add yourself to the spreadsheet and climb aboard.

Best, i had the opposite this morning, had a bit of a dyslexic moment - entered my weight and seemed to have lost a stone overnight. Had read two of the numbers back to front... Blush

Breakfast for me... Green tea with mint, green smoothie (spinach, cauli leaves, celery, avocado, double cream, greek yog, coconut oil)

DurhamDurham · 24/01/2015 10:05

Good morning,

I haven't posted much as I've had a rotten cold all week. I've been good but not perfect with regards to bootcamp. I find it very difficult to drink lots of water when I'm not well, I've done my best but definitely not enough.

I've have managed to stick to low carb options at meal times but as I haven't had much of an appetite I don't think I have eaten enough. Even though it's against the rules I have had some blue berries, I drowned them in cream and I told myself they were medicinal.

I'll be much more strict next week.

Hope everyone has settled in to bootcamp well, it's lovely reading all the recipe ideas, I'm going to make that low carb moussaka next week as that sounds delicious.

prettybird · 24/01/2015 10:08

Sharks eating cables is not that unbelievable.

In my old job, I was responsible for the main link to Iceland. We had problems with rats/mice eating through the cables and breaking the connection Shock. The solution for a while, until we could get armoured cable in, was to take the cable out the duct and hang it along the fence. I had visions of a further outage due to cows eating the cable! Wink

Good news was that they then bought a 2nd route to protect again outages and helped me make my target for that year! Grin

BestIsWest · 24/01/2015 10:19

I know it's the scales. I always keep them in the same spot and someone had moved them. They are the old fashioned dial type but they have been pretty accurate for the last year. I will weigh at my mum's this afternoon. I am usually half a stone lighter on her scales than on mine anyway.

SayraT · 24/01/2015 10:21

Thumb there is a fruit carb counter on the spreadsheet for when we get into BCLite.

lurkingmurking · 24/01/2015 10:43

Morning all!

Had mushrooms, bacon and sausage for brekkie - lovely!

Now at cinema and DS has been ordered not to give me any pick n mix!

Also the barista in Costa was more than happy to give me some pouring cream in my americano - result!!

Mrsstevejones · 24/01/2015 10:57

So last night i totally spoiled poor old DH`s lovely idea. He wanted to cook me something nice ( brill cook but virtually never does it) and i demanded he emailed me the recipes he was thinking of, then boo hoo-ed them all for being too carby - he doesnt really get the WOE.

I suggested he made what i had planned as i had bits to use up etc -feel like such a mare but determined to keep on straight and narrow.

We ended up having broccoli, cauli, brussel sprouts and leek cheese with streaky bacon. Absolutely lush and i got to teach him a new recipe - its part of my plan to teach him loads of recipes so he can cook in accordance with the rules and do it more often!

We managed to make about 3 times more sauce than we needed, had a genius idea of boiling up a bag of cauli in stock and chucked the sauce in- yummy cauli cheese soup.

So far

B - BPC and 2 x coffee with cream

Later

L - cauli soup
D - chicken thighs with a lemon grass and ginger sauce (new recipe sounds nice will report back) and cauli rice.

BeyondDoesBootcamp · 24/01/2015 11:01

Urgh, indigestion is back :( i'm hoping it feels like indigestion but is really the fat cells being eaten from my belly. Going back to bed for a bit.

RandomHouseRules · 24/01/2015 11:08

Morning all. A pound up this morning but not too bothered about that at this point.
B: green eggs and ham Smile (scrambled eggs, with loads of chopped spinach and rasher of bacon. Is it obvious I love Dr Seuss?)

Not sure about the rest of the day yet. Got a big and very LC food delivery this morning so am not short of goodies.
