Evening everyone. I hope you're all ready, prepared and raring to go!

Here is the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness:

for you to enter your starting weight

Have a good look at the tabs at the bottom, as there you will find the rules, the list of allowed veg and lots of other really useful information.

I've also started the questions thread , so if you have anything you need to ask, that's the best place to ask it. The chat threads move really quickly in the first weeks, so this thread is the best place to ask your questions.

And this time around, I thought it might be useful to have a thread to post about good/interesting low carb products that you come across:

Here

Good luck!

Mrsstevejones I know what you mean DH doesn't get what I'm doing either so for the next week at least I'm going to have to take control of the cooking and add carbs for him!
Weighed today and 4lbs down, wanted to celebrate with some blueberries or nuts or something ( which prob does sound nuts)but NO got to keep my resolve, got another 13lbs to go ShockNot easy as I am not used to dieting at all and normally have very little will power. Only another week of super strictness I tell myself.

Mrsstevejones · 24/01/2015 11:32

Good for you cymru, i have loads to loose and i will prob stay on BC for the entire time. Well done on being 4lbs down esp when you arent miles off of your target weight.

DH is doing BC as well so that does help. I am determined to teach him then we can share the cooking, i like this WOE and i do think its healthier so intend to stay on it, to manage my weight long term. Luckily not very keen on nuts but do sometimes have berries with cream as a weekend treat.

Almahart · 24/01/2015 12:00

Just did a massive shop, thought it would be really expensive, loads of meat and cheese, but it was actually cheaper than usual probably cos no wine

Breakfast was eggs and butter, lunch/snack asparagus dipped in egg (was planning on Mayo but dcs left two while boiled eggs) dinner will be roast chicken with cauliflower cheese and some sort if greens.

Notso · 24/01/2015 12:51

Afternoon all.
I was a bit snacky yesterday allowed snacks but probably food I didn't need to eat. I need to stick to 3 decent meals. I did dodge the Friday night takeaway bullet though and had salmon salad.
Breakfast today- Greek yoghurt
Lunch a kind of swede and bacon hash.
Dinner yet to be decided.

Apophenia · 24/01/2015 12:55

furFoxAche I bought some duck eggs at the meat market today. They were HUGE. Had an omelette for lunch - cracked the first and it was a double yolker! Is that common with duck eggs?

It's a much firmer texture in the omelette than chickens eggs too. Liked it though!

ijustwanttobeme · 24/01/2015 12:57

afternoon, LCBC'ers.

I think i did well yesterday, given that i met my SD for breakfast in the morning, went out for lunch with friends and had a takeaway in evening:

B: bacon and scrambled egg, with tomatoes
L: chicken tom yum soup
D: tandoori chicken and salad

But.... did spoil things today when I went to see my mum as had a slice of toast and a cup of tea.

Back on track for lunch as had pork belly slices (Indian styleee- ooh so yummy)

Still not managing to drink 2.5l of water per day. Find it harder when i'm at home than at work for some reason. Hey ho, ill get there eventually.

ijustwanttobeme · 24/01/2015 13:00

btw: I know I should use capital Is, but I pressed post before checking and my PC doesn't auto correct like my iphone Blush

Fatstacks · 24/01/2015 13:37

My Lunch. Looks awful but it's actually salad and chicken, mayo, pork crackling and cheese.
Just to reassure lovely BIWI that I won't just eat corned beef for the next week Grin

MrsSJ after explaining at length and even showing him the rules spreadsheet my DP just text me to ask if I'm making haggis neeps and tatties Hmm somehow I think it doesn't sink in Smile

Week 1 - January Low Carb Bootcamp: and we're off!
BeyondDoesBootcamp · 24/01/2015 13:41

I have chicken strips, cucumber and mayo, with a cuppa bovril.

Stomach is bearable at the mo, but scared i'm gonna upset it again

imustbepatient · 24/01/2015 14:03

Greetings all.

Today so far I've had:

B: two fried eggs and some left over fried aubergine and Mayo
L: a salmon spread / dip made from hot smoked salmon, Mayo, cream and a dash of lemon juice, which I had with cucumber, celery and avocado (was delish)

Off to a family gathering for dinner, so I will pick at the LC bits of whatever is being served. I plan to take a big coffee with cream in my flash new travel mug thingee, to help me avoid the copious wine that will be flowing. Wish me luck!

Notso · 24/01/2015 14:09

ijustwanttobeme I find it helps to find something you do regularly, and try and drink a glass of water everytime you do it. For me it's turning on the kitchen tap, I'm always making a brew, washing my hands or washing up.

Fatstacks great slippers!

Fatstacks · 24/01/2015 14:27

I'm Blush to admit that they are the feet in my pjs Grin I'm always cold so fleece is my staple look.

Notsoskinnyminny · 24/01/2015 14:32

Gosh this thread moves quick Smile I had an alcohol and carb-free Friday night and had the best sleep ever (11 hours, no cramp and only 1 wee) but with the weirdest dreams.

Had a lovely brunch this morning and took divadog to the beach but really need to get off MN, do my online banking and then go to the shops, DH wants chicken but I'm fancying belly pork.

sassandfaff · 24/01/2015 14:38

Afternoon.

I finally stopped fluctuating between 14.1 and 14.2 today, as the scales said 14.0. Hooray.

We had a tapas inspired dinner last night, made by dp. He is a much better cook than me. We just had lots of different dishes and even ate it with toothpicks! Fried choriza with garlic, fried chicken in peri peri sauce, kale crisps ( god I love them) mushroom with goats cheese on top, avocado with tomatoes and cucumber salad (squeeze of lemon), and olives. Yummy.

Breakfast today scrambled egg with spinach.

Took the kids to the cinema and they had popcorn (as did dp) but I'm still managing to be saintly. Grin

The hot cross buns last week are the only time I've been tested really.

Lunch will be tuna salad. (Dp too full of popcorn yet)

Dinner is always curry on a sat night. We have ditched the onion bhajis (sp), garlic naan breads and poppadoms though. Homemade chicken curry with cauliflower rice and my tzakziki dip. (Greek yogurt, grated cucumber, garlic and squeeze of lemon.

sassandfaff · 24/01/2015 14:41

Tzatziki

BitchyTakesOnManagement · 24/01/2015 14:52

Ds hasn't slept but did let me sleep 4hrs this morning/early afternoon. SO i am just about to go find some breakfast. There was a snack of some yoghurt around 4am.

BIWI · 24/01/2015 14:55

Some lovely sounding food going on!

sassandfaff hopefully next time you get on the scales they will start with a 13

ijustwanttobeme

But.... did spoil things today when I went to see my mum as had a slice of toast and a cup of tea

Why?! Why did you do that to yourself?!

OP posts:
sassandfaff · 24/01/2015 15:21

I hope so Biwi. It's always a great occasion going down into a whole new number.

BlueberryHope · 24/01/2015 15:25

Hi All! Haven't posted yet as wasn't sure I would get very far and thought I would jinx myself being over-enthusiastic! It's been great to hear people's little victories throughout the week, and also to steal all your menu ideas. I have managed to stick to the plan, lots of avocados, oily fish, cream in coffee, crispy fat on lamb chops, mmm... I have missed comfort eating though (which is what made me so big in the first place), so even though I know I won't physically crave sugary stuff on this WoE, I know emotionally I will! Anyone else finding this? What can I do if not turn to comfort eating chocolate when stressed?! Hmmm... Anyway. Thanks for doing all this BIWI. And keep up the good work, chaps.

RandomHouseRules · 24/01/2015 15:29

Just made banana muffins with the kids. They really wanted to bake. The kitchen smells lovely But I am not remotely tempted to eat one, partly because I had a massive and v lush lunch: homemade lamb and feta burgers, with kale crisps and broccoli. Normally I would have had a sneaky small one right out of the oven and joined the kids on licking the bowl!

Need to up the water tho I think.

lurkingmurking · 24/01/2015 15:44

Nandos for lunch - half a chicken and ratatouille - nom!

BeyondDoesBootcamp · 24/01/2015 15:54

DH is making the meatballs from your blog for tea biwi!! :)

With broccoli and umm...whatever other veg is left in the fridge. Shopping comes tomorrow Grin

cymrukernow · 24/01/2015 15:59

Hi blueberryhope yes comfort or emotional eating is tough to avoid, chocolate is a big one for me ( though it made me big). Having done a BC before I found the cravings did lessen - the first week is definitely the worst!

costababe · 24/01/2015 16:05

Happy Saturday all!
All going well in the Costa household down 2lbs for me and 3lbs for Mr Costa.
Last nights spicy prawns served on buttered spinach was lovely, that's a definite winner here!
Today have had
B yoghurt and cream and cinnamon
L two spinach ham cheese and egg muffins
S cheese cubes
For dinner we have friends over, all LC so fairly easy.
Starter plate of chorizos, iberico hams olives and tiny silver skin onions
Main chicken stuffed with cream cheese and chillis wrapped in bacon, served with roasted asparagus with Parmesan shavings and a spinach rocket and coriander leaves salad
Desert will just be cheese and nuts.
Then down to the serious business of poker!!
There may be a little G and T drinkage for the ones allowed!!
Grin

miffy49 · 24/01/2015 16:20

I'm in the process of making a cauliflower pizza base. Keep your fingers crossed! The recipe states that its guaranteed to be crispy so we'll see!

Done my shopping and can't get the fridge shut for veg. Be proud of your disciple Biwi Grin Even had to drag out an old freezer box and store some of the roots outside!
