Evening everyone. I hope you're all ready, prepared and raring to go!

Here is the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness:

for you to enter your starting weight

Have a good look at the tabs at the bottom, as there you will find the rules, the list of allowed veg and lots of other really useful information.

I've also started the questions thread , so if you have anything you need to ask, that's the best place to ask it. The chat threads move really quickly in the first weeks, so this thread is the best place to ask your questions.

And this time around, I thought it might be useful to have a thread to post about good/interesting low carb products that you come across:

Here

Good luck!

Amax - thank you - it was a few years ago now, so yes, she is completely over it. Thanks

I have a horrible taste in the back of my mouth, but I've had it before after having bronchitis (which I'm still on the tail end of), so I don't think it's related to the WOE - tastes like rancid lard in my throat though, it's gross.

Mrsstevejones · 23/01/2015 10:10

Ah poor you sass, sending sympathy.

This WOE affects my TOM, last time i bled for 3 weeks out of 4, did eventually settle down - i think i read its something to do with hormone release caused by fat loss. So its sort of a good sign, if not awful. Cuddle up somewhere with good book (or shit tv) and day dream how skinny you will be by summer!!

DH is a starlet and wants to cook dinner, problem is he doesnt quite get WOE, have asked him to run recipe past me, so now feel like a total control freak but dont want to mess up in first week or spoil a lovely gesture.

Am frigging freezing not sure if its WOE or bloody weather. Heating bill will be massive. Am wearing, jeans, t shirt, socks, slippers, jumper and gilet. Seriously considering putting gloves on - indoors!

2 pepperonis for breakfast and will have BPC in a mo as nap isnt happening.

Mrsstevejones · 23/01/2015 10:14

I have THE BREATH and have taken to brushing my teeth 3 times a day.

I am hoping teeth will get whiter as recently given up the fags and taken up vaping. Also on the WOE i only have 1 coffee and not my usual 8, so that must help.

The no sugar has to be better for our dental health.

BeyondDoesBootcamp · 23/01/2015 10:20

Ahhhh i'd blamed my two weeks of bleeding on my coil...

I have the opposite heat problem, am effing melting, constantly. And rather sweaty and minging. But yay, that clearly shows something is happening to my BMR, so is fab by me :)

lurkingmurking · 23/01/2015 10:28

Managed to make do with a black americano this morning and avoided the croissant. V pleased with myself!!

Today's plan is:

B: eggs, mushrooms, ham, cherry toms l, coffee
L: fridge raid
D: Portuguese fish stew

sassandfaff · 23/01/2015 10:33

Thanks mrssteve

Your right. I'm having a duvet day, which I hardly ever have. I'm going downstairs for my laptop, Greek yorgurt, with extra thick cream and mixed spice. And I'm going to eat it whilst watching a film on Netflix and then I'm going to sleep for a bit.

My twins are getting a special mention in assembly today at 2.40pm, so I will be out for that.

sassandfaff · 23/01/2015 10:33

You're right I mean!

galbraith · 23/01/2015 10:38

Well I felt so ill yesterday that I had to leave work early and I've called in sick today. My lovely DP made me a cauliflower cheese with double cream, leeks and bacon for tea which made me feel a bit better!

I'm just about to crawl out of bed for some yoghurt and vanilla... Might take my temperature again too (hypochondriac alert!).

sassandfaff · 23/01/2015 10:38

Beyond I'm both. One minute I'm freezing the next I'm melting. My temper is quite short to say the least too. I'm blaming it on sugar withdrawal but "going through the change" has been mentioned more than once by dp. Blush

I prefer to say I'm bat shit crazy erratic at the minute.

MsHap · 23/01/2015 11:29

hi I added myself at the end of the spreadsheet - hope that's ok?

I weighed in on monday at 11.5 which is 5 pounds less than new years day Shock. Hope to get down to 10.8 which is my best weight of recent years and if I can get down to 10 this year I'll be very pleased.

I need to go off and read the rules properly I think, but have been doing this since Monday and appear to be 3 pounds down

TheGrinchWearsStripes · 23/01/2015 11:35

Bloody hell, I'm starving. My stomach is actually rumbling. Thanks to whoever mentioned the Pret protein pots, as I had one of the egg and smoked salmon ones for breakfast. But I am now stuck at work, and all I have is my lunch...

Oh well. 26 minutes and I can Hoover eat it.

graduatedbob · 23/01/2015 11:49

Hi all. My weight loss has stalled having lost 10lbs in the first two weeks. My clothes are looser and people have started to notice so I know it's working. Just have soooo much to lose. It's week 3 for me though and I have had hardly any sleep this week due to my daughter having a never-ending cough that keeps her up all night. I need to expand my range of meals as I feel like I am having the same thing over and over again. Feel like treating myself tonight so might get a bit of steak to have with mushrooms and spinach. Had mushroom omelette for breakfast and chicken with cauliflower mash (again) for lunch.

nowitsenough · 23/01/2015 11:56

Feeling really fat today, and I look it! Hope it's just because of the time of the month Confused

Yesterday I had 4 rashers of bacon and 2 fried eggs for breakfast, chicken salad with mayo for lunch and home made chilli without beans or anything for dinner, snacked on tikka flavour chicken slices and salami and 2 spoons of coleslaw. I walked the dog for 25 mins and had an hour long dance class at night.

I daren't get on the scales at all, as I don't think I've lost anything and I know I will react to that by stuffing myself with silly things Sad Blush

Notso · 23/01/2015 11:59

Morning all, sorry to hear people are feeling rough.
I also have the breath according to DH. I can't smell it despite much 'hahhhing' into my cupped hands. I've just brought some mouthwash. Is this the pay off, fab weight loss but manky breath Hmm

I had some cottage cheese for breakfast, full fat. Is it allowed though?
Lunch and dinner will be salmon and salad and cauliflower cheese, not sure in which order.

TeapotDictator · 23/01/2015 12:06

TheGrinch - try drinking more water to see you through to lunch. Sorry to hear your tummy is rumbling; I hate that!

I won't see much weight loss this week - actually started on my 'mission' back in November. I've lost two stone since then which is great but imagine it'll be slower from here on in. I have another 3 stone at least to lose... most of this weight rather embarrassingly has been put on in the last 3 years - the last year of my miserable marriage and the two years since separation. No longer! Grin

I've done loads of low-carbing in the past and I don't know if it's my age or whatever but I was finding that eventually my weight would stall and I'd end up giving up. This time round I've kicked the booze for good (6 months tomorrow yay) and am following more of a 'Bulletproof diet' protocol which involves occasional 'carb re-feeds' to give a kick start to my hormones. The first of these will be on Saturday so my weight on Sunday may well reflect that!

Keep going all...!

Mrsstevejones · 23/01/2015 12:34

More water helps the breath and all the extra loo trips have got to be good exercise right? No downstairs loo and with small DS its usually a race up the stairs and back ( he is in travel cot) or trying to hold him whilst weeing.

I did 5:2 coupled with bootcamp last yr when my weight loss stalled and it fitted in really nicely. I ate an evening meal on sunday then just had a BPC for breakfast and lunch and then had dinner the monday night, couldnt ever manage to hold out until breakfast the next day.

I will prob try this again in a month or so. I think i was warned about not eating enough on here but worked for me when i was nicely in the routine with this WOE. I lost 1st 7lbs in the 10 weeks, also did masses of walking with the kids in the double buggy ( so bloody heavy and i live in a really hilly area) as the weather was lush. I do have a lot to loose though.

Right little man is asleep so must crack on with housework and stop MNing- that should burn a few cals.

imustbepatient · 23/01/2015 14:14

Afternoon all.

lurking I love your description of your lunch as "fridge raid"!

Today's food so far is:

B: 4 x bacon rashers and 2 x fried eggs with mayo
L: (which was a lot later than normal as breakfast was so filling!) lots of LC vege with chilli, garlic and a small splash of soy sauce, with prawns and left over roast chicken, all fried up in coconut oil
D: will be liver with shallots (and maybe bacon but have just realised that of course I had that this morning - d'oh) and swede mashed with butter and fried aubergines

I am finding that the food on this WOE is the way my body naturally wants to eat, when I am not shoving carbs and sugar in it. I love foods like mayo, coconut oil, cream, herbal teas pork scratchings plus I've always enjoyed cooking so I'm having great fun thinking of meals to cook (inspired by lots of the food everyone is posting!).

I've also noticed that I really concentrate on eating enough vegetables and having a real variety so then I don't miss fruit / HC vege. I'm definitely eating a better range and amount of vege now than before BC.

Benefits all round...

AlphaBravoHenryFoxtons · 23/01/2015 14:23

B Coffee with cream & salami
L A gorgeous salad: Watercress, chicken fried in butter and olive oil with bacon bits and fresh chopped chilli, lardons, sliced half avocado, chopped cucumber, two cherry tomatoes finely sliced, and a small finely sliced shallot. ANd a big dollop of mayo.

D Roast chicken with mashed swede and broccoli.

AlphaBravoHenryFoxtons · 23/01/2015 14:26

Does mint tea count towards the water intake requirement?

TeapotDictator · 23/01/2015 14:28

B - BPC
L - steak and a pack of spinach, wilted in butter
D - five spice chicken drumsticks with roasted brussel sprouts

TheGrinchWearsStripes · 23/01/2015 14:34

teapot thanks! I made it to 12:01, when I unpacked my chicken salad. I think it was gone by 12:03!

alpha chicken with cream and salami sounds interesting! Grin

amaxapax Thanks I hope it goes well for you after what must have been a really tough time. I am also doing this LC diet for ttc reasons, trying to get myself healthy after a miscarriage last year.

LexLoofah · 23/01/2015 14:49

Notso lick your wrist and then have a sniff instead of huffing into hands if you really want to know

Yes to the manky breath, furry teeth and also thin coating of something that feels like fat on roof of my mouth which is not particularly unpleasant - drinking lots definitely helping with the breat

was wondering about periods too as mine usually incredibly light but this month the lady in red is in full flow (sorry if tmi) so assuming something to do with hormones and fat cells, must do some reading later

B - ff yogurt as could not face eggs again, kids had blueberries in theirs, had some serious blueberry envy but did not cave

nearly cocked it up last night as almost lick blob of jam off my finger after making their packed lunch, ran to the tap to wash it off like it was dog poo or something, whew close shave, almost did it without thinking.

There's a lot of processed meat going on here, and not much veg! Please be wary of the coleslaw - do you know the carb count? It can be very carby and often contains sugar (unless you made it yourself!)

I daren't get on the scales at all, as I don't think I've lost anything and I know I will react to that by stuffing myself with silly things sad blush

Please don't even think that. Why would you? If you can't face the scales, then leave it for another week until your period has been and gone. But don't entertain self-sabotage

BIWI · 23/01/2015 15:57
