Evening everyone. I hope you're all ready, prepared and raring to go!

Here is the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness:

for you to enter your starting weight

Have a good look at the tabs at the bottom, as there you will find the rules, the list of allowed veg and lots of other really useful information.

I've also started the questions thread , so if you have anything you need to ask, that's the best place to ask it. The chat threads move really quickly in the first weeks, so this thread is the best place to ask your questions.

And this time around, I thought it might be useful to have a thread to post about good/interesting low carb products that you come across:

Here

Good luck!

Chester a lb could be simply a case of not having been to the loo, but having said that, I hear you loud and clear. I've lost weight a lot more efficiently (steady reliably 2lb per week) on other plans in the past - but I've put it all back on, so here I am again and why I'm sticking with it, because I am convinced it's more sustainable and healthier - also I eat Paleo now for autoimmune conditions so it fits better. I've had to look at portion control as BIWI said, (never can get my head around gaining weight through eating too little though, people who don't eat enough are thin not fat), and the water definitely makes a difference to me. Try übercamp for a few days?

Whoever said they got caught short and had to resort to M&S, if I don't bring lunch M&S is my only option, and it's a tiny one. I can still get a fresh salad bowl and choose from an array of prawns, salmon, cooked chicken or meat, expensive yes, but perfectly easy to stick to the plan.

Pleaseandthankyou · 23/01/2015 07:49

Chester, is your bmi within the normal range. Mine has crept outside normal which is why I think I have lost a bit quickly. I look noticeably different from Monday which is hard to imagine. I just want to sneak back into the normal range and then I will try to maintain again.

ChesterDrawers · 23/01/2015 07:55

I'm a stone above the top end of normal BMI with 39% body fat so plenty to get rid of Please.

Romeyroo · 23/01/2015 07:57

I am the M&S person; I looked at the salad bowl and thought coleslaw would have more fat, but as I got salmon as well, maybe this was not an issue. I don't know, I was stressed with work and it was quick.

I am doing a big shop anyway, so will be back on track with taking my own lunch next week (at home today).

I might need to find a pair of scales, I am getting curious if there is any loss here. I have been LC since mid -October and after the initial loss, it definitely slowed down. But I am another who is sticking with it for the other health benefits.

AttitcusFinchIsMyFather · 23/01/2015 07:58

I lost 8lb in my first week, and have bounced up & down the same 3lbs ever since (this is my 3rd week). It is disheartening when I compare it to SW, where I lost a lot more in 3 weeks, and I enjoy the food on both WOEs. I am sticking with this one though, because I do like the clear skin & energy levels.

Pleaseandthankyou · 23/01/2015 08:06

Bang goes that theory Chester. I imagine I will stick for a while. I have a difficult couple of weekends coming up. Being hosted this weekend with no choice of food. Will do my best and will drive. The weekends seem to do the worst damage. I am carrying the vision of BIWI with her big stick with me.

Amaxapax · 23/01/2015 08:10

I just need to say thank you so much to Biwi for putting all this together, and to the rest of you for all your good tips and advice. Although I've been doing bootcamp for three weeks, I didn't weigh myself at the start, so I'm not sure how much I've lost. This morning I optimistically decided to try on a dress that didn't fit at the end of Christmas, and now it does! I'm sitting in work right now wearing it. It's so gratifying to see these results so quickly.

I'm especially thankful because I suffered a molar pregnancy back in October, and just yesterday I got the news that my hormone levels have finally returned to normal, meaning I won't need chemo and will be able to think about TTC again in about three months. This has been a very dark time, so I'm so glad it's finally over. I'm determined to make sure that my body is as healthy as possible to give me a better chance of conceiving quickly, so I'm committed to LCHF if these are the results I get!

B: Three hb eggs with mayonnaise
L: Tuna in oil with avocado, cucumber and mayonnaise, two little cheddar sticks
D: Lamb steaks with swede mashed with butter and either some corgetti or broccoli

TheGrinchWearsStripes · 23/01/2015 08:21

random only BC lite friendly, but cauliflower crust pizza is really nice? Or egg crust pizza, pretty much an omelette with the toppings chucked on?

My day yesterday:
B eggs
S Brie and cucumber
L left over chicken courgette boats
D pork tenderloin with sage, lemon and prosciutto rub (very little lemon, the recipe says 1g carb per serving!) with celeriac and broccoli. This dinner was devoured by DH unlike last night's!

Doing well with water too.

Pleaseandthankyou · 23/01/2015 08:25

Thinking of you Amaxapax. With all you have had going on you have done really well to stick to this. It is nice to hear some good news first thing in the morning.

BIWI · 23/01/2015 08:27

Amaxpax that is very good news indeed Flowers

Here's to better times from here on.

arrgghh non sleeping children are bringing me to my knees. I want to munch just to make me feel less sleepy. DD at nursery this morning and DS down for a nap so i might say sod it to the house work and have an hours nap.

Plan is

B- BPC after nap
B - Green smoothie
L- tuna and mayo in lettuce wraps
D- Bacon and broccoli, leeks, cauli and br sprouts cheesey bake thing

Will be a bit dairy heavy but need some comfort food to fight off the cold and you cant get more comforting than cheese and bacon!

Good luck all

MrsKoala · 23/01/2015 08:32

Morning all. Sorry to see some of you are down because you haven't lost any weight yet :( It's really tough. I am the opposite, i lose really quickly (too quickly) on every diet/plan i do then the moment i eat anything not on it i pile it all back on Confused . This is why i am doing this. i want something i can do forever and stay at a stable weight/size.

Yesterday was a bit of a mess with regards to food. i had no time for lunch or dinner (crying children all day :( ) so i basically snacked and picked at cheese, cold meat, avocado, yogurt, olives and gherkins all day, i also had a bowl of cauli soup and tried a BPC (which made me feel sick and shakey so i wont be trying that again i don't think).

I went to bed feeling sick and bloated and like i had eaten too much. So from now on i really must have proper meals.

Fatstacks · 23/01/2015 08:43

Good Morning Smile
Some Flowers for Chester and Amax

Do you have one shit week, two meh weeks and one great week on diets Chester?

My cycle seriously affects the scales and water retention, I don't swell but get heavier on a shit week. I track cycle on my days now to stop me rampaging around feeling disheartened.

I'm in a grump today because my ear hurts, I'm a wuss and darent go for c25k (still haven't run yet just keep repeating week one Grin ) and I have to cut my Dad's toenails...

B. BPC and leftover ham chicken thing.
L. Egg salad. Yoghurt.
D. Pulled pork and buttered leeks.

Have a good 'un Smile

BIWI · 23/01/2015 08:45

Bleurgh to cutting someone else's toenails! Grin

Glad you've avoided the chemo Amaxapax - I have a very good friend who did have to have it and suffered a lot through it (she was unlucky though). Hope things continue to improve for you. Thanks

Fatstacks · 23/01/2015 09:00

It is grim BIWI he is seriously cashing in the. Whole ' i brought you up' credits Smile
He won't go to the podiatrist and his answer is to just buy bigger shoes Hmm

SarahBeenysBumblingApprentice · 23/01/2015 09:03

Have tread the intervening posts so sorry for stuff I'm missing!

Got it in one BIWI. Stressed and pre menstrual. Holiday in 1w and need it.

Thumbwitch · 23/01/2015 09:04

Sorry, hit the wrong bloody button!Confused

Today I managed a decent sized breakfast (hurrah!) but only by cheating (boo!) same as last year. It's Tasmanian cherry season again and I just can't miss out on them, it only lasts a couple of weeks. Anyway. 3 cherries chopped up in a bowlful of Greek natural yoghurt - not too much in the way of carbs and makes it far more palatable so I can eat more yoghurt.

Snack (on the train) was 2 babybels
Lunch was tuna and cheese salad
Dinner was 2 lamb chops with cauliflower and broccoli (yes I know it's 2 brassicas but still) and a couple of carrot batons, and gravy made with meat juices. No dessert.

Water was reduced today owing to 2h train travel and car travel home; I can make it up now but I have a vague recollection that it doesn't "work" so well if you drink most of it in one load, it's supposed to be spread over the day, isn't it?

BeyondDoesBootcamp · 23/01/2015 09:15

Those not losing weight, i did that for the first two weeks, my weight only went up. Week three now and i have suddenly started losing :)

Breakfast - pork and leek sausages, bacon, scrambled egg and mushroon

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 23/01/2015 09:23

It's all going ok here. I felt a complete lack of energy yesterday and had a headache. It was either a touch of carb flu or it could be pre menstrual symptoms. Either way they've both done one and today is a new day.

Anyone else have bad breath and furry teeth?

I am drinking enough and I had it the whole time during last boot camp. So maybe it's my lc destiny Confused

Amaxapax · 23/01/2015 09:28

Thanks very much for the kind words. I'm so sorry to hear about your friend, Thumbwitch. I hope she is better now.

CharlieSierra · 23/01/2015 09:46

Romey - in that situation I wouldn't worry about fat, you can eat more fat later but you can't un-eat the carbs Smile

I've just had a dire avocado situation, inedible and my last one before shopping, so I've had greek yogurt with cream and a bit of almond butter and cinnamon for breakfast - absolutely delish and a treat but may affect my result this week I fear. I'm getting really pissed off with crap avocados btw, they look right but full of vile brown strings! What's going on? Angry

sassandfaff · 23/01/2015 09:48

Morning.

I keep fluctuating between 2lbs and not really losing anything for a week now. I am/was in the week 3/4 which Biwi always says is a weight stalled. So I'm not feeling too disheartened.

I am however suffering a little bit. Time of the month and it's so heavy. Tmi alert. I woke up this morning at 6.30 and I'm on my 4th super plus tampon. Yesterday was as bad, with an hour average between having to change.

I may lose weight this week, but I think it will be mostly blood at this rate. I'm feeling very sorry for myself. Today is the only day in a week that I get 9-3pm child free and I'm just lying on the bed with no energy, and tied to the house anyway, even if I did have energy.

Sorry for the moan.

sassandfaff · 23/01/2015 09:52

amax I hope it starts looking up for you.

iliketo I hear you on the bad breath. Blush

I have found my teeth look whiter/cleaner though. I mentioned it to dp and he said he'd noticed that about his own too. Anyone else?
