Evening everyone. I hope you're all ready, prepared and raring to go!

Here is the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness:

for you to enter your starting weight

Have a good look at the tabs at the bottom, as there you will find the rules, the list of allowed veg and lots of other really useful information.

I've also started the questions thread , so if you have anything you need to ask, that's the best place to ask it. The chat threads move really quickly in the first weeks, so this thread is the best place to ask your questions.

And this time around, I thought it might be useful to have a thread to post about good/interesting low carb products that you come across:

Here

Good luck!

Tesco's apophenia. Grin and a small useless one too! Doesn't even sell celeriac or kale.

BestIsWest · 22/01/2015 20:31

Evenin' all.
Tough day for a few people today by the sound of it, including me. Recovering from a chest infection and feeling awful. Painful chest kept me awake half the night and I got no sympathy from my boss in work today who insisted on having a a 2 hour personal development meeting with me. Inclined to stay home tomorrow if I still feel this crappy.

B - omelette with mozzarella and pancetta.
L - prawns, Mayo, green leafy salad, cherry toms, 3 baby bels.
D - gammon, egg mushrooms.

Coffee with cream, tea with lacto free milk and 1 litre water so far. Just getting my second.

WireCat · 22/01/2015 20:59

Cauliflower rice is delicious.

Heated oil, bunged in the riced cauliflower, added chilli & garlic & cumin. Added a bit of water when it looked a bit dry.
Served it with salmon.

Pleaseandthankyou · 22/01/2015 20:59

Thanks for the moussaka recipe Mrs Koala. I have a pot of mince made for tomorrow night. Just need the aubergines. Looking forward to something different. It always amazes me how two people can be such different weights and still be the same size.

MushroomTree · 22/01/2015 21:01

Everyone that's talking about Thai curry - which paste are you using that's low carb friendly?

LexLoofah · 22/01/2015 21:07

Hello and congrats to all who have done another day

Am enjoying reading along at lunchtime although a co-worker pointed out that I should be concentrating on eating in a state of mindfulness rather than reading and eating thoughlessly but he was sent away with a flea in his ear as I saw him with a bag of peanut M&Ms at 9am this morning whereas you could not have paid me to eat one today so ha!

B- ham, poached eggs (got the hang of this now), hollandaise, spinach
L - big crunchy tuna mayo salad with rocket and spinach
S- boiled egg and mayo
D - not sure, hard to be bothered as feeling full and DH is out for a client dinner, will forage for something low carb when I get home, not worried I will cave and eat something off the list instead as practically nothing banned in the house at all unless I lose my mind and down a pint of milk Smile

janx · 22/01/2015 21:22

Got caught out today and grabbed a soup in pret and half way through eating it I realised it had potatoes in it Hmm ...

lavenderhoney · 22/01/2015 21:31

Really wanted carbs today but didn't and I ate lots of cauliflower instead.

B- 2 egg omlette with bacon and mushrooms ( which keeps me going all day
L- babybel as straight to yoga from work and then school run.
Snack - coleslaw and olives
D- cauliflower, grilled chicken.

Not so much coffee and lots of water ( but not enough)

SayraT · 22/01/2015 21:52

Mmm, I've just made pepperoni 'crisps' they were yummy. I just put pepperoni in the oven until it was all crispy.

Almahart · 22/01/2015 22:02

My day was:
Breakfast, one sausage, one piece chicken, one coffee with cream
Lunch salmon and egg salad with lots of dressing
Snack two boiled eggs, butter
Second snack bit if pate and cucumber
Dinner pork chop, cauli cheese, sautéed leeks and rocket with dressing

Made low carb shepherds pie for tomorrow, it's delicious

Romeyroo · 22/01/2015 22:06

full on day at work today, I feel like I ate too much, I ended up getting lunch in M&S. Seriously did nearly buy nuts because my waist is stubbornly staying the same, so felt disheartened, but resisted.

B - three hard boiled eggs

S- plain soya yogurt (this was when I needed lunch but had to sort something so could not leave the office)

L- hot smoked salmon and coleslaw (the coleslaw was 4g per 100 but I ate too much of it the whole pot)

D- large mushroom stuffed with bacon and cheese, roast courgette and kale

Exhausted

RandomHouseRules · 22/01/2015 22:09

Evening all. Had a bit of a shit day at work and normally would have piled into Wine, but I have resisted (and there is prosecco in the fridge!). Also went for a swim this evening.

B: egg, spinach, mushroom muffin with a bit of philly
L: very boring leftovers, bit of lettuce, chicken, cheese. Uninspiring. Need to do better on that.
D: chicken with a pesto topping and roast burned broccoli and leeks. Lots of Mayo.

No snacks, at all. Which is unheard of after a swim (I had an hour after swim before home for dinner). Need more inspirational food tomorrow. Did ok on the water front I think.

Tomorrow will be a bit tricky - I volunteer on a Friday morning and food options are almost entirely biscuit related! Then a toddler party in the afternoon, school pick up, after school activities and pizza for the kids after (family tradition, which I will tackle another time). I am cooking BF sausages as I type to carry around with me, with some cheese and cucumber. Obviously I won't partake of pizza but I know it is going to be my biggest challenge of the week. Bring it on.

SayraT · 22/01/2015 22:26

Sorry, I was going to try and do a superpost but this thread has moved so quickly!!!

I wasn't very hungry today so food was:

B: Two rashers streaky bacon, coffee with cream
L: Buttery spring greens with garlic
D: Loaded chicken breast (flattened chicken with mushrooms and peppers on top)
S: Bit of cheese, FF yogurt

readyforno2 · 22/01/2015 23:18

Haven't eaten much today. Felt rubbish

No breakfast
Bacon and scrambled eggs for lunch
Mushroom and cheese omelette for dinner.

6/7 pints water and two coffee with cream

MoJangled · 22/01/2015 23:52

Janx if you get caught out again and can get to a Pret, they do protein pots with 2 boiled eggs and some spinach leaves, which I have for breakfast about twice a week when I fail to manage any at home. And the crayfish and avocado salad is down to BC-approved carb levels. Think they're the only options! Wish they had cream for coffee though - costa and starbucks do...

Romeyroo · 23/01/2015 05:00

Well, today will be a challenge; DS has been up since 3.30 saying he is not tired. It will be a long day. I am having a BPC.

Romeyroo · 23/01/2015 05:02

Oh, and I have coconut milk today, it is slightly more carbs 2.9 but all I have left. It tastes nice.

BestIsWest · 23/01/2015 06:01

Boots have started doing little post with boiled eggs too.

For thai green curry, I do my own rather than use paste. Blend a bunch of coriander, shallots, garlic and chili, Cook it for a few mins, add the chicken(or whatever), coconut milk or cream and a few spoonfuls of Thai fish sauce. Chuck in some Thai basil if you can get some. It's one of my favourites and very easy.

ChesterDrawers · 23/01/2015 06:37

Really fed up, a sneaky peak on the scales shows I have gained 1lb so far this week. Why is it so hard for me to lose on this sodding WOE?

Today's plan:

B: avocado, parma ham, salad leaves, Mayo
Late L as out the friends/kids so will eat when I get back: scrambled eggs, ghee, mushrooms, maybe bacon
D: slow cooked lamb neck marinated in lemon, garlic, oregano, olive oil, Greek salad with olive oil

SarahBeenysBumblingApprentice · 23/01/2015 06:55

That's useful re: pret mo, thanks.

chester I am a pound up too ??. I don't loose weight easily on any diet and I think my slow loss is a reflection of that. I would have been a great cave dweller Hmm

BIWI · 23/01/2015 06:59

For a start, let's put it in perspective - it's only a pound.

Second, are you absolutely, definitely, positively certain that you're following the rules? Sure?!

Water and fat levels are usually the first things that I'd question. After that, I'd have to ask you if you are a) not eating enough or b) eating too much. Obviously I can't tell that from what you write here.

I know that we don't count calories on Bootcamp, but the amount that we consume does have an impact, so if you think you're guilty of (b), then think about cutting down your portions. If - as I think you are - you're both long-term low carbers, why not think about dropping breakfast? Or switch to a low carb version of 5:2?

OP posts:
BIWI · 23/01/2015 07:00

... and obviously the other thing to think about is dairy

Are you sleeping well?

Are you stressed?

Are you on any medication? Even ibuprofen can have an effect on your weight apparently

OP posts:
ChesterDrawers · 23/01/2015 07:10

Water and fat are both fine here, I think. Three litres plus a day, lots of butter and home made Mayo with meals, fatty meats too. I've cut out dairy too, apart from a little bit of cheddar on spag Bol the other day. I was going to have feta with my Greek salad later, but I probably won't now.

Portion size, I don't know. I don't think I'm eating too much, but maybe I am. I have done real 5:2 in the past, but never tried a LC version. I might give that a go next week.

I know I am a slow loser, but didn't expect to gain in my first week back. I'm not giving up, ever in fact, as I love the way I feel on LC and truly believe it's the way we should eat. But it is so disheartening not to see results.

ChesterDrawers · 23/01/2015 07:12

And I never sleep well, I have a non-sleeping four-year-old! Nothing I can do about that though. Not particularly stressed, life's pretty good here.

ChesterDrawers · 23/01/2015 07:14

Sorry to hijack the thread but I did have awful indigestion yesterday and endd up taking a Zantac - could that have caused a gain?
