Evening everyone. I hope you're all ready, prepared and raring to go!

Here is the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness:

for you to enter your starting weight

Have a good look at the tabs at the bottom, as there you will find the rules, the list of allowed veg and lots of other really useful information.

I've also started the questions thread , so if you have anything you need to ask, that's the best place to ask it. The chat threads move really quickly in the first weeks, so this thread is the best place to ask your questions.

And this time around, I thought it might be useful to have a thread to post about good/interesting low carb products that you come across:

Here

Good luck!

MoJangled I shall steal that henceforth!

sassandfaff · 22/01/2015 13:49

notso sorry overlooked you there.
I don't wear baggy tops. I wear tops that show off my non pregnant, pregnant belly.
I figured I'd rather look smaller with a bulging tummy, than bigger and probably still have pregnancy question marks hanging over me. Grin

mrsk I can't see a bra intervention thread accept for maternity one. Do you have a link please?

I just took my bra off try on my smaller one and looked inside, it is a 40dd. Blush brain that addled I can't even remember what size bra I'm wearing!

sassandfaff · 22/01/2015 13:59

mrsk I'm a size 10 at 11 stone and I'm 6inch shorter!

I'm definitely dense I would say.

L- 2 left over farmers sausages.

I really struggle making myself food. It's just not my forte or my interest. In the past I would have just eaten cereal.

I can do the dc's food because I have to, but then I'm more likely to eat slices of ham, cut off a piece of cheese and eat nuts.

I need to win the lottery a chef

MrsKoala · 22/01/2015 14:02

i would either just go on that thread and ask or start a new thread. they will tell you how to measure and remember to ask about 'scooping' Wink

ijustwanttobeme · 22/01/2015 14:05

Is it normal to have a wobble?

I've not been feeling hungry between meals since I began, but I am craving carbs- not helped by the fact that there's Cakeand Biscuit in the office due to team member's birthdays.

So far today I have had:

Boiled egg, with ham and cheese.
Chicken Caesar salad
Coffee with cream

Am desperately trying to ignore the 'pull of the carbs'. I can do this though can't I

On a positive note, I went out for a meal last night. While all around me were drinking alcohol, eating delicious smelling pizzas, I managed to have: anti pasti (asked to hold the dough sticks), chicken with courgettes and peppers (refused the potatoes). And while others had desserts and liqueur coffees, I just had coffee with cream.

The girl done good Grin

imustbepatient · 22/01/2015 14:06

Quick check in for today:

B: three HB eggs mashed with butter
L: left over steak, spinach and mushrooms (in butter) from last night
D: will be slow roasted chicken with broccoli and celeriac chips

I'm doing well on the water today and have had lots of herbal teas plus two coffees with cream. Happiness. Grin

BIWI · 22/01/2015 14:28

ijust - it's totally normal and shows that you're a human being Grin

alma

Breakfast of one cold sausage (asda 2carbs per 100g) and the left over cold chicken thigh with skin on when I got to work. One coffee with doubke cream, one black decaff. Still feel hungry

I'm not surprised you're hungry, you haven't eaten very much and you will have had very little fat with all of that. Seriously - this isn't supposed to be a diet that's about deprivation. You need to eat and you need to eat fat.

Glad to hear reports from the scales from some of you that you're shedding those pounds!

Rather worryingly, although I have new scales, with a new battery in them, every time I step on them they give me a different reading. So my strategy is to take the lowest one each time Grin

I'm checking in! A bit late as I only started today but I hope that's ok. Today I had fried egg and cheese for breakfast, salad with boiled egg and avocado for lunch, cheddar for snacks and a bowl of lidl Greek style yoghurt. I've entered into mfp for interest and that's 24 grams of carb so far. A little high, I think that's the yoghurt. Dinner will be omelette with whatever low carb veg I can find in the fridge and feta cheese. Am veggie so it's a bit challenging but I'm hoping to do it strictly for a few weeks and see what happens.

EhricLovesTheBhrothers · 22/01/2015 14:34

I have ordered zero noodles so I don't have to eat eggs with every meal and will buy some cauliflower on the weekend so I can make mash and rice.

Notso · 22/01/2015 14:35

My tops are almost all ones I wore when pregnant, DC4 is nearly 3. What's worse is I looked better in them when I was pregnant as I actually lost weight in all my pregnancies.
Definitely recommend the bra intervention. I used to wear a 42DD and I just checked my bra now is actually 38J not G. I was amazed that with the smaller back size my back looks less 'rolly' than it used to. Bra guru website gives a good description of how to measure if you don't want to start a thread.

Mrsstevejones · 22/01/2015 14:40

Will look into bra intervention as the gals arent what they used to be after BF and pregnancies, i tend to wear what i think fits so might be worth getting the tape measure out - dear old gok is always banging on about bangers and bras and structuring. They were a bit of a feature of mine but now they feel like udders - although less so since i gave up BF DS.

Funnily enough i recently bought the marie kondo book as am reading it with the aim of discarding things that dont give me joy - inc this weight. Too much stuff is taxing and i hate having to constantly battle to keep the house organised (aka less time for MN)

Just bought the turkish yog ( its is 4g/100g however) from Lidl as i saw recommended on here and its lovely, very very thick, like cream cheese texture. Having it with coconut cream and a side order of pepperoni.

RockySpeed · 22/01/2015 15:00

OMG! I was feeling so inspired by all the ladies who have shed a few pounds already and the fact that I haven't cheated AT ALL (a miracle!) so I just hopped on the scales. Is it at all possible that I've PUT ON WEIGHT? Admittedly my scales are ancient and haven't seen the light of day, except for my weigh in on monday, for a good few years.

I'm heartbroken! Confused

Almahart · 22/01/2015 15:05

Gosh, I thought that was quite a lot. Had a big salmon and egg salad for lunch and have just now had two hard boiled eggs with butter. Breakfast in the move v tricky, has anyone got any ideas if what I can bring to work? I tried Total yog but was starving. Perhaps I need to do do a little smorgasbord packed breakfast

Notso · 22/01/2015 15:06

Same here Mrsstevejones, my 4 yo called my boobs "Mummy's droopers" the other day Hmm, though DH once he'd stopped pissing himself laughingkindly reminded me they're hard working boobs that have fed 4 babies, but I miss my perky pre-children bosom.

Fatstacks · 22/01/2015 15:07

Clearly a case of evil bastard scales. Rocky
I bought new ones on amazon because they are supposed to turn on as you step on to them.
They are evil bastard scales though!

Lies lies and more lies

Emailing amazon now to return them Angry

sassandfaff · 22/01/2015 15:14

notso my 4yr old D's asked when I was naked.

What makes them go up?
I was confused until he pointed.

I just replied a bra, and reached for drink.

Hmm

We were separated at birth mrssteve Wink

lurkingmurking · 22/01/2015 15:20

ijust well done!! That is some serious willpower there.

Rocky sounds like bastard scales to me too.

Alma I've done egg muffins and heated them for 30 secs in the work microwave and they were lush.

I have never been less that 10s8lb in my adult life and at that weight I was 8-10 at 5'6''.

BeyondDoesBootcamp · 22/01/2015 15:23

I think we may have mrsk! Grin

Was feeling a bit peckish so just had a snack of some chicken and olives.

Mrsstevejones · 22/01/2015 15:42

I dont think i have ever been less than 10 st - maybe 9.5st for one brief moment, one heartbroken summer and i was 19 and teeny tiny. If i could get to 11st,I would be over the moon. I havent been below 11.7 st since finishing uni (I still thought i was fat). I like being curvy and perky boobs were part of that. I think i carry the weight well as i get fat all over.

I tried repeating "boobs are for babies and not boys", didnt work. Wouldnt want a boob job but wouldnt mind them hoicked up to a more natural position. Shudder to think what weight loss will do to them.

What i really want is to be fit, strong and healthy.I have really rubbish flexibility and stamina but am strong from carrying kids about. This year plan is to do a challenge, walk up a mountain, run in a race etc but first step is to reduce the weight and pressure on joints first. Just need to find a suitable challenge now.

Now what to have for dinner, bacon and broccoli, leek and cauli cheese or thai chicken curry and cauli rice??? ummm

Notso · 22/01/2015 16:00

What are people using to make curry? All my usual ones seem carby. I really fancy a beef curry.

I'd like to fit too Mrsstevejones, I don't think I'm a good role model for my DC especially my DD. DH is very sporty as are his parents. The closest mine get to sport is watching rugby in the pub and I'm the same.

BeyondDoesBootcamp · 22/01/2015 16:06

This is my inspiration pic. My thinnest after a bout of dysentry... though pre-children, so i know i wont look the same. Still over 11 stone here

Week 1 - January Low Carb Bootcamp: and we're off!
BitchyTakesOnManagement · 22/01/2015 16:11

Morning

Breakfast: small dollup of yoghurt, 1 cup of white coffee
Lunch: small dollup of yoghurt and 3 babybels

BIWI's reminder ringing in my ears this afternoon so i check the ingredients of my favourite tinned smoked mackrel, and was delighted to discover that actually it doesn't contain any carbs so it is completely ok for eating on bootcamp. Slept through most of the day as absolutely wiped but still don't feel great. Not really wanting anything to eat felt exactly the same yesterday and very glad to have two days off work. I suspect it is carb flu and lack of sleep catch up. Hoping to feel better tomo as am in the office and need to be functioning on all levels.

Tea will be chicken legs and veg. Am planning a posh scramble eggs thing for super and I suspect i will get hungry later tonight.

lurkingmurking · 22/01/2015 16:14

Bitchy aren't you starving??

Mascarpone has been purchased for 'pudding' later with some cinnamon

Mrsstevejones · 22/01/2015 16:25

Beyond great inspiration photo and such a flat tummy, i once had a tummy like that - sobs.

For curry i use sainsburys rendang paste which is 17.9g /100g

On lazy days Lloyd Grossmans ready made jars are 6-9g/100g, they dont have any unpronounceable ingredients in.

Just checked my thai red curry paste and 26g/100g so wont be having that tonight. Will do some label checking next time i go shopping.

Anyone got any good finds??

BitchyTakesOnManagement · 22/01/2015 16:41

Actually feeling very sick. And horrible. Tbh seriously considering going back to sleep. I do have medical issues and this is not an uncommon state for the end of a flare up. It allows recovery so I tend to go with it and plan to eat an extra 'meal' in the evening when i feel more able to tollerate food. It is not ideal but as i have been pretty much bed bound for the last month it is a case of needs must.
