Week 7 - Low Carb Bootcamp - Where the End is Almost in Sight!

Morning all!

Hope that you had a good week and that the scales are kind to you today.

Come and confess all on the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness and/or on the Weight Tracker

So we have four more weeks left. A focused effort could see another four or even eight pounds disappear. Which would be 8 or 16 packs of lard!

Just to keep you focused on that, here's a picture of just one measly pound of fat. Imagine losing four of these - or how much eight of them might be Grin

LOWCARBFOR thanks for your comment, and at the same time I would like to apologize you if by no means I have offended you when I post early this morning about the cakes :( I did not mean to disturb anybody and I will b more considerate about my post :)

JimmyCorkhill · 16/06/2014 16:17

antimatter thank you!

wombat22 · 16/06/2014 16:17

A gain for me this week but I've had some confusion about what I weighed last week Confused I've got about 10 days till my holiday so I'm having a hard core boot camp this week. No dairy other than butter. Well done losers and those who are still keeping on

lowcarbforthewin · 16/06/2014 16:29

Supermum, you didn't offend, not to worry. Thanks

I always find when you've had something you shouldn't the cravings go up for a few days. I just really wanted something to eat, anything, but I wasn't really massively hungry so have had a plate of cucumber and dipped it in salt. It was lovely. It always makes me feel so great to not give in and to make a healthy choice. I've been SO tired the last 6 weeks thanks to stuff going on and to make those good choices in that state also feels v good. Just really waiting for life to calm down now so I be much more on top of this. Went to see the counsellor this morning and she taught me this lovely visualisation to basically get me to calm the frick down about how slowly I'm losing weight.

Oh and one of my carers has been off for 3 months and just came back and went 'wow you have lost so much weight.' Grin I was beaming!

SayraT · 16/06/2014 18:34

Hello everyone Grin

Wasn't at home this morning so I will weigh in tomorrow. lowcarb its really nice when people notice isn't it, give you a wee boost Smile

B: Coffee with cream, egg in a cup
L: Not hungry
D: Courgetti and bolognese
S: FF yogurt with blueberries

TolchockLovelyInTheLitso · 16/06/2014 18:47

DoI in addition to the water, BPC can help get things moving, and I like a bit of flaxseed in my yoghurt for a bit of fibre.

TolchockLovelyInTheLitso · 16/06/2014 19:51

Ooh, today I made the stick blender mayonnaise - loads nicer than shop bought as it has no vinegary undertones but when I worked out the nutrient info, it comes to 550 cals per serving (if you're a greedy trougher like me & think one cup of oil & 1 egg = 4 servings). That's a serious amount of calories!

JimmyCorkhill · 16/06/2014 19:53

if you're a greedy trougher like me & think one cup of oil & 1 egg = 4 servings

Blush I get a maximum of 3 servings from it, and sometimes just 2!

readyforno2 · 16/06/2014 21:40

Haven't weighed yet.. Tomorrow.
I won't be surprised if there's a gain. Absolute idiot over the weekend and bent many rules. Back on it now though.

Suzymoo09 · 16/06/2014 21:57

Thanks Stuntnun I have been doing some homework and found this authoritynutrition.com/low-carb-diets-and-cholesterol/ which is the way to go for me for now (i think) !
Thanks

SarahBeenysBumblingApprentice · 16/06/2014 22:02

Tolchok I was just doing my MFP lunch for tomorrow and put mayo in. I was utterly horrified! I may have just work out why I'm stalling. I eat gallons of the stuff.

Lovely compliment LowCarb, they're always nice, aren't they?

Right, today.

I've just been out for the most fantastic bike ride in the lovely sunny evening. LC seems to be really good for cycling, for me. Much less burn and much less of the running on empty feeling. Weird, giving that I've really struggled with running since starting this. It was my first ride on road in about five years though and it was a bit scary!I live semi-rurally and a gave one lady a massive shock as she whizzed down the lane not expecting oncoming traffic, never mind grim-faced me hanging on for dear life and hoping that no-one saw my cycling shorts Grin

B: BPC

L: leftover veg with melted cheeeese Grin ( roast swede and cabbage), one moser roth 85% bar. A cup of vegetable bouillon made up as a drink.

D: burger, cheese, cabbage and leeks - both with butter.

S: 1oz pistachios.

MFP: 8% carbs 17% protein and 75% fat. (37g carbs, 77g protein)

4.25l of water made up of water and fruit tea.

(NB: this was a treat day!)

teawithlemon · 16/06/2014 22:35

Evening all!
I've been something of a lurker this past week, and walked the straight LC path until this past weekend....
Results of poor choices means I'm going to skip weigh-in this week, give myself a few days über camp and generally reset things. I'll just get [more] despondent about my weight, so it's better for me to accept and move forward to a better week.

Supermum0203 · 16/06/2014 22:46

Evening everybody!!
Internet in the phone has been a nightmare all afternoon and early evening; now it seems to work.
First of all, could somebody join me to the spread sheet and add my weight, pretty please? Started weight from week one 66kg. The same for weeks 2,3,4,5,6 and today 65.3

HOLGER, thanks for reply, I guess you are right and maybe if I wasn't follow this WOE maybe I would have ended up bigger..! Is just disheartening not to see the scale moving more often, and the whoosh fayry hasn't dropped in my home yet... Maybe as I live in the countryside....can't find the way :)

CQ; well done for your weight lost and thanks for your words :)

STUN; such a great achievement ..!!! Yes u have a big reason to feel happy with your new body !! :)

BIWI; thanks for your comments. Yes I'm going to post my food to see if u can help. I'm going to start from today as I don't remember what I ate yesterday, but I can assure you I haven't slipped at all, as I'm not tempted by nothing in particular, probably because 20 years of dieting having to say no too many times !!
Anyway today:
B- at 7.00 / 2 eggs with a tbs of oil
L- at 2 / smoked salmon with 3 tbs of homemade mayo
D- nothing as not hungry
Water 2.5 l
So that's all for today.

Sweet dreams !!

pingufan · 16/06/2014 22:49

Hi all, stayed the same this week. Only thing I've eaten different was feta cheese. For some reason the morning after I've eaten it (for tea) I'm starving when in wake up the following morning. It's as though it knocks me out of ketosis or something. Odd.

Anyway, have a good week folks, I may not post much this week, busy busy with rehearsing for a show xx

TolchockLovelyInTheLitso · 16/06/2014 23:36

I get a maximum of 3 servings from it, and sometimes just 2!

I may have said 4 to try & look good Jimmy Wink

rubybricks · 16/06/2014 23:53

hey losers!
forgot to weigh in before first cuppa of the day...but back on track and on the downward trend again (i hope!)

have just skimmed thread, but some great losses - well done! and commiserations to the stallers, or indeed the gainers Flowers

stuntnun that is fantastic, your post should be made a sticky! i had thought about that true weight app but am not a daily weigher, though it has struck me over the past year (i started my first bootcamp in april 2013) how my weight has gone down and how i've just somehow gotten used to 'the new normal' - though am still a stone off my goal weight.

lowcarbforthewin you've been so inspirational and supportive, i respect your request and won't post details of cheats (there have been a few, but i know why - have been tired/rushed/'forgotten' to eat) but it's so not worth it - far better to be strong and stick rigidly to this WOE, it works!

work has eased off this week and i really am going to go to the recipe thread and seek inspiration - have a good week everyone!

Best1sWest · 17/06/2014 05:58

Another 1lb off. Really must up the water this week.

StuntNun · 17/06/2014 06:17

Supermum it doesn't look like you're eating enough, and you need to include veggies and salad. Here's what I are yesterday as an example.

B: two cups of tea, two field mushrooms fried in butter
L: bulletproof coffee, three strawberries, 200g Greek yoghurt with double cream stirred in, 10g dark chocolate
S: Peperami, tea, herbal tea
D: burger and sausage (out at a barbecue), lots of Greek salad
S: chicken wings

glenthebattleostrich · 17/06/2014 06:18

2lb on this week, totally deserved. Had wheat for the first time in 6 weeks and have spent the last couple of days feeling horrible.

Back on track now. Yesterday went for BCLight, and today and for the rest of the week I will be strict bootcamp.

Yesterday I ate too much but need to get back into ketosis to sort my appetite out, not worrying too much about quantity this week, more focusing on eating right again.

Very cross with myself, I have turned down so many things that don't fit into this way of eating but completely messed up :(

Food plan for today:

B - FF greek yogurt
L - Halloomi with salad
T - Lamb curry with more salad!

Drinks 3 cups of tea with cream, aiming for 4 litres of water.

have a good day everyone

antimatter · 17/06/2014 07:15

lowcarbforthewin - you are real inspiration for me too!

BIWI · 17/06/2014 07:31

Supermum

B- at 7.00 / 2 eggs with a tbs of oil

Good - eggs make a fab low carb breakfast!

L- at 2 / smoked salmon with 3 tbs of homemade mayo

Why only this? Where is the veg/salad?

D- nothing as not hungry

You must eat something else. Especially some veg/salad! You aren't eating enough. No wonder the scales aren't moving - your body is trying to hold on to everything it can in the face of adversity. Seriously. Start to eat more and especially more veg and salad.

OP posts:
BIWI · 17/06/2014 07:32

doineedhelp totally agree with trashcan about the water - it makes a big difference. And also make sure you've upped your fat.

What veg/salad are you eating? Can you increase this as well?

lowcarbforthewin · 17/06/2014 08:02

Ruby and anti thank you! Blush Thanks

I'm off for a fasting blood test. Already feeling very smug at the idea of getting results back and the doctor going 'oh but look at your blood sugars, they're perfect with a hushed tone, and me replying very modestly, 'I'm a low carber' with a sigh. Grin.

EwanHoozami · 17/06/2014 08:08

Supermum If you've been on low fat / low cal diets for 20 years where the 'goal' is to have small portions and to deprive yourself of fat it will take a bit of time to get out of that mindset. The idea of eating until you're satisfied feels counter-intuitive. But as BIWI says, our bodies need to be assured that we're eating enough good stuff to be encouraged to let go of the fat.

Also if you don't eat lots of good green leafy veg, the scales won't move because your digestive system won't move, if you know what I mean!

EwanHoozami · 17/06/2014 08:09

Weigh in day for me - one week in, 0.5 lb off. But as I said, I have a metabolism like a super-tanker.. very hard to turn around! I know I get a whoosh around week three so am keeping on keeping on..
