Stringy are you Northern too? Grin all love and cuddles appreciated! And that was my minty top tip. If it looks and sounds like a nice drink, as meatloaf would say.... two out of three ain't baaaaaaaad

petals why oh why has no-one invented velcro walls to stick babies to yet? Chuh!

trashcanjunkie · 17/05/2014 16:00

well done glen Grin

Notsoskinnyminny · 17/05/2014 16:06

pingu its so hard - sitting out in the sun means sharing a magners or 3 here and DH's gob is tripping him because I won't have any and if it stays quiet the trampoling brats next door are out he'll want wine outside tonight.

I don't know if I'm over doing the coconut oil but when I need to go I now have to go straight away and I've spent most of the day on the loo, its not quite the whoosh I really want Blush but hopefully the scales will be down.

Like trash I've found I've had to reduce my portion sizes because I was eating way too much last bc. Must try sipping my water because I'm still downing 1/2l and pissing it 15 mins later Grin

Sunshine calling.

Ohwhatfuckeryisthis · 17/05/2014 16:20

Feeling bit better. Lunch was some naice ham, little gem leaves and a chicken kebab thingy. Realised this is prob low fat, so added some aioli. Dh says he wants Greek salad, so that's what we will have. I'm skipping the olives, boak, for slivers of Parma ham.
What's the feeling about breath spray? I've got such a dry mouth (upping sodium) and think this could help.(not like when i did Atkins years ago, and reached into bag without looking and squirted Happy in my gob.)

CQ · 17/05/2014 16:28

OMG is clotted cream really allowed by the SPOONFUL???

I have a potful of it left in my fridge from cream teas last weekend. It's still in date.

Is it really allowed? Seems so BAD Grin

I've just been out for lunch - ordered the roast duck breast with green veg only. Was fab except as the waitress brought out everyone's food, 'Rare steak? Cod & Chips?' she then yelled 'duck breast with NO potatoes?' Way to diet unobtrusively Blush.

I was then of course inundated with questions and comments Angry

I'm really trying not to make a big deal of it, mostly because I don't want DD, 13, to know I'm dieting. I went on my first diet at about 20 yrs and have been a yo-yo dieter ever since. If only I'd never started Sad

I know, I know this is a WOE not a diet - but you have to admit the first 2 weeks are not 'normal' eating.

WeShouldOpenABar · 17/05/2014 16:34

BBQ weather here had a look at all the possible sausage packs and found some fancy garlic ones at .4g per 100 which I didn't think possible . I will report back if they're nice with it Smile

lowcarbforthewin · 17/05/2014 16:41

Lovely day here too but am stuck in bed. Hoping to get to the park later for a picnic.
Breakfast was eggs
Lunch salmon and veg
Just had some pork scratchings for tea
Hoping to pick up a rotisserie chicken for supper. Otherwise I have a beef burger in the freezer.

monkeyfacegrace · 17/05/2014 17:15

Good day today. I actually look awesome in my hot pants and vest top.

I've eaten cheese, pork scratchings, salad, chicken thighs, and a flaxseed pizza.

Bowl of whipped cream later.

HalfSpamHalfBrisket · 17/05/2014 17:19

Afternoon all, been lurking but not posting.
I've low carbed on and off since 2010 - successfully losing about 5 stone , but haven't stuck with it the past year so have put 1.5 stone back on. Already 8 pounds down on this bootcamp though so feeling very positive.

I've just made myself 'pastrami and rye' without the 'rye' bit - I used cos lettuce leaves and piled them up with lidl pastrami, maasdam cheese, gherkin and mustard. Absolutely delicious and according to myfitnesspal, the only carbs were the lettuce leaves!

petalsandstars · 17/05/2014 17:30

Hmm - thats a first. Made the kids dinner but I'm not hungry.

I did take a steak out to defrost so might have it when kids in bed. Don't want to eat for the sake of it though.

pingufan · 17/05/2014 17:47

I do hope its not possible to eat TOO much pig. Had a joint of pork roasting in the oven and the smell was divine, took it out to cool a bit and was back and fore the kitchen tearing a bit off here and there and eating the crackling. I had some for tea with roasted Swede, courgette and leeks with butter, given some to DH for his tea and now there's none left

Greedy! Just one of those hungry days I guess!

trashcanjunkie · 17/05/2014 17:57

Ahhhh. Just managed first proper food since Monday Grin

Little gem
Perfectly ripe avocado
Picco thingyo tomatoes - quartered
radishes

Olive oil and splash of lemon juice dressing with a really generous pinch or three of good salt and some pepper.

I feel nourished. Sigh.........

NeverHadANickname · 17/05/2014 18:04

I ordered an Indian takeaway, all completely BC friendly. Felt quite smug that I could still do this and they have sent me free bread and poppadum's! I know I should put them in the bin but they're still in their bags next to me. I'm hoping typing this will make me move them to the bin Sad. This is my first bit of in my face temptation and I hate waste.

SayraT · 17/05/2014 18:12

Well never you have a few choices

  1. Chuck them out and enjoy your LC Indian (if you ate them it would end up down the loo so no waste throwing them out, just cutting out the middle man)
  1. Eat them, discover they are not as good as you thought, put yourself out of ketosis and be back at square 1

OK - hello everybody. It is already 1pm and I have not checked in yet.

It is Yard Sale day in our neighborhood, so I have been helping out a neighbor. So her husband made me a a wonderful omelette with cheese for breakfast and got me an iced green tea from Starbucks (no syrup). It still has caffeine in it, but less than half that of coffee - do you think that is ok to drink, 'cause it was yummy!

Just had roast chicken and cucumber and yellow pepper with tzatziki for lunch and not sure what dinner will be.

I am conscioulsy trying to cut down portions now - I eat big portions and I know that is part of the reason I am fat, so I am working on that, without letting myself get hungry.

Anyway, have a good day everybody, enjoy your LCing!

NeverHadANickname · 17/05/2014 18:18

I know your right. I haven't cheated once and haven't needed to. Things are never as good as you remember are they. Ok I'm going to put them in the bin out of the wrappers.

Thanks Sayra

Parsnipcake · 17/05/2014 18:37

cq I have been doing bootcamp for nearly 3 months, and it is a normal way of eating now. My family accept it pretty much, though I emphasise the health benefits as I have impressionable teen girls. The thought of pasta makes me feel queasy. I'm not sure I will ever go back to bread/ pasta/ rice or potatoes, they are just carriers. Buttery garlic mushrooms always seem like too good an alternative!

trashcanjunkie · 17/05/2014 18:46

Well done never - I can't tell you the sadness I felt when I had exactly that issue with some chicken jizzled flatbread that had been accidentally added to my low carb order! It's cheap crap, don't feel bad chucking it. Imagine how an alcoholic must feel pouring a good wine down the sink. I actually found it extremely empowering, and it's one of the few places I have no issues telling about my WOE. They only want to help.

We also had the indian takeaway ring us up to check we weren't mistaken with our order once as there was nothing carby in it!

Hiya spamm I avoided caffeine for a year the first time I lc. I started off doing the same this time, but have discovered I can tolerate it. I have one or two cups max per day of earl grey but I don't count it as part of my liquids. Same if I have a green tea or two.

readyforno2 · 17/05/2014 18:47

There must be a point where you're eating too much fat..

B - mushrooms, courgette and bacon fried in butter with a splash of double cream
L - salad with bacon and Brie (I know.. Too much bacon) Mayo
D - rump steak fried in buttery pan with mushrooms, courgettes and asparagus, small handful of raw spinach

Some kind of fruit tea and four or five bottles of water. I need more water

readyforno2 · 17/05/2014 18:47

Oops.. and a small spoonful of coleslaw with lunch too

StringBeanJean · 17/05/2014 18:59

SayraT · 17/05/2014 19:01
