Think I may have put him off by making it sound like hard work

Very basic internet dating issue.

Been chatting to guy online (he is single but 40ish) he asked to meet so fine I said ok when and where? He came back with a day.

I realise (due to my limited availability) that I prob should have suggested a day and time etc

Cos I then replied backsaying not easy to meet in the weekday evenings because would have to get babysitter, could do lunchtimes in the week, or every other sat. Blah Blah Bit like in those 80s films when people said I will find you a window!!

Finishing up with a jokey bit about well if that hasn't put you off

Thing is it prob has hasn't it? he's read the mail thought omg how complicated and run for the hills (as we on mumsnet like to say).

Shame cos it was instant attraction on my part. Suppose if he is really interested it wouldn't put him off.

Anyway he's not he only iron I have in the fire (lol) and I have similar probs with the other trying to meet up. It's not that easy.

im sure that you're a fab cook BTW
i never have complaints either lol!
but god isn't it so nice when someone(preferably a nice man)cooks for you!

wintercitylover · 20/01/2009 21:31

I seem to attract catering managers so you would think that I might be able to get them to cook for me wouldn't you

LMAO wcl!!

wintercitylover · 20/01/2009 22:48

ok am gettin the measure of potential date guy - found him on a well known social networking site - he is very popular which is good and has many friends - all women LOL. Appears to have no male friends whatsoever.

Think I might be waiting a loooong time for my reply. Told you that the theory of natural selection will weed them out.

aseriouslyblondemoment · 20/01/2009 23:01

so you looked him up on facebook then?
ok so whats happening with other guy with same name?
as we're talking about the theory of natural selection

wintercitylover · 20/01/2009 23:21

not him in particular but I just did a general search of my address book using one of my email addresses (have two) and up he popped with his harem. I do like a challenge but think that might be a challenge too far.

The rather worrying thing is that if you give your email address to someon the could do that you too - I hadn't realised that.

Guy of same name - well we have a date arranged very soon however we have tried to meet a couple of times before but something (each time child related) has cropped up. But am hoping this time it will happen. But I don't expect that to develop into anything serious. He is very hot though.

he's not looking too likely then is he?at least you know what you're dealing with thankfully!
the other option sounds good thou
at least it is a distraction for you if nothing else!
please explain the thing with email addresses to me
this might be useful for many of us on here

lou33 · 21/01/2009 00:07

well i just waved him off , so wont see him til end of feb now, as he is going away for a few weeks on holiday

aseriouslyblondemoment · 21/01/2009 09:50

just as well you have other options the eh?

wintercitylover · 21/01/2009 10:20

if you are on facebook you can use the 'find friends' option by inserting your email name and password - it then searches the emails in your address book and tells you whether or not they are on facebook - quite illuminating. You can then decide whether or not to ask them to be your friend.

But similarly they could do the same to you and find you on facebook. My email I use for dating etc is not my real name to avoid people finding out where I work etc. But of course in that way they could if they were so inclined.

Lou - do you think you will miss nm while he is away?

wintercitylover · 21/01/2009 14:41

well what do you know - have had txt from him (the original man who the thread was about) to ask if I still want to meet?

I have txt bk and said yes would like to meet.

Now just waiting for response to that one.

So still some interest there on his part. Perhaps I should have proposed a date and time.
