Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
davidtennantsmistress · 11/04/2008 09:10

it does, I don't talk about him really - normally they know I have him and that's all, I call him my son or the boy, don't say his name etc. obv this chap knows his name thou.

zippitippitoes · 11/04/2008 09:13

here you can stop me looking like a total plank

here

i had a pic of me with my dgs as my profile pic on pof and no one actually asked if he was my son so that was rather ambiguous

i assume they thought it was mine son

bf doesnt actually know i am a grandma

well he might have guessed but im not sure i have a cr seat in my car and he hasnt asked whose it is

gillybean2 · 11/04/2008 09:19

If I knew where to find them I'd be there myself!

Can anyone enlighten me as to what POF is please? Several people have mentioned it...

zippitippitoes · 11/04/2008 09:22

www.plentyoffish.com

dating website
which quite a few mners have had experiences of good and not so good

Janos · 11/04/2008 11:42

I've met a very nice one from POF. Yes, really! It's very early days so who knows how it will turn out but they ARE out there.

He is a bit younger than me, no complaints there though as he is absolutely gorgeous

zippitippitoes · 11/04/2008 11:43

so thats three of us on this thread with a pof

Janos · 11/04/2008 11:56

Yes, I can definitely recommend it.

I have been on several dating sites and can honestly say I was very pleasantly surprised by POF. Especially as its free.

I too am (was) upfront about being a single mum, I didn't make a big deal of it IYSWIM but neither did I hide it.

zippi you must be a glamourous gran!!

CrackerOfNuts · 11/04/2008 12:10

I can't get on with POF at all, i just attract the wrong type on there.

Tbh I have had zero luck with any dating sites, so have knocked them on the head.

Dd2's best friends dad, asked me today if i'd pulled on the hen weekend I went on, and he did look surprised when I said no, so I don't know what it is exactly that I do wrong as people I know seem to think I should have no trouble finding someone.

zippitippitoes · 11/04/2008 12:19

well of course because you are lovely

Tippychick · 11/04/2008 12:25

Am in a wasteland here too. I don't even see likely suspects around the place either. So I'm going to the wrong places (mostly the park actually, maybe that's the problem!) or Devon is dry.
Isn't there a town in Texas that's advertising for women for all the men, they have a 20:1 ratio or something? Now a big hunky Southern gentleman type with a few thousand acres, that'll do

zippitippitoes · 11/04/2008 12:28

i did throw the net pretty wide tho both age and geography wise

if i had stuck to someone my age where i live that would have been crap

someone halkf my age living in london is much better

CrackerOfNuts · 11/04/2008 13:34

Aww thakns Zippi, i'll pay you later

CrackerOfNuts · 11/04/2008 13:34

thanks

MascaraOHara · 11/04/2008 13:38

it's a shame we ar enot all closer.. could have had a single MNers night out on the pull

fifitinkerbell · 11/04/2008 15:04

They come along when you arent looking as I have found out, have got 3 fella's interested in me & believe it or not they are not after one thing but unfortunatly I am not interested in them in a relationship way, so there is good ones out there.

zippitippitoes · 11/04/2008 15:10

nutty is rather understandably shit scared of nmeeting me

Pinkchampagne · 11/04/2008 16:00

I've never used an internet dating site, but know lots of people have had success with them.

I met my lovely man in a bar. We were both having a Christmas night out with friends, and I kind of walked right into him on my way to the toilet!

CrackerOfNuts · 11/04/2008 16:02

I am scared of meeting my own shadow at the mo Zippi

Pinkchampagne · 11/04/2008 16:08

I've met zippi, and she seemed pretty harmless!

zippitippitoes · 11/04/2008 16:10

oh yes pc ois lovely

i was desperate to steal her handbag but at that point wasnt drunk enough

i still swear my drink was spiked

Pinkchampagne · 11/04/2008 16:24

You did have a good night didn't you, zippi?!

Was that my little green bag?

zippitippitoes · 11/04/2008 16:33

it was a very nice small expensive looking bag

in fact i believe it had alabel on it saying this is an expensive bag

well i had an expensive night my ankle is still noit right and that was 1st december which was a long time ago

in fact i think the 2nd of december was the last time i saw the twat from pof

as opposed to the nice bf

Pinkchampagne · 11/04/2008 16:42

If it was my little green one (which I think it was), a friend bought me it for my birthday from Camden market. I love my little green bag!

Not good about your ankle, but pleased to hear you have found yourself a nice bf to massage it for you!

CrackerOfNuts · 11/04/2008 19:34

Can someone remind me of the other free dating sites, apart from POF.

davidtennantsmistress · 11/04/2008 19:47

theres one women date for free or something I think.

face party. (not used it thou)

tippy - if there was one like that about i'd have snapped him up by now!

jan - I think that's part of the key isn't it to be upfront but not give too much away when it comes to the little ones. I was once talking to someone on the datingforparents.com who didn't have a child but was saying I really like you and I want you and your son to live with me - (within about 5 mins of speaking - needless to say he was blocked and I left the site) you have to be so careful not only with yourself but your child as well.

oh nutty - give POF another try with a revamped name and all, I didn't have anyone nice at all first time around, second time and within a few hours this new chappy and I were on MSN having a riot!
