just wondering if this has been done before...

I have 2 Dcs (2 & 5) and am bringing them up by myself (H allowed to have phone contact only due to his fuck wittery {I love that phrase Blush Grin})

Sometimes its soooo hard doing it by myself Sad

DS had parents evening today and although his comments from teachers were fab most all of the other parents were couples.

Sometimes it hits me that I have to do everything myself Sad

I'm intrigued too, esp cause I 'm not an internet vergin and been there done that oh so many, many years ago, when it was more than a closet thing (by chance will add) so age of innocence long gone... Still... there are some decent looking and articulated blokes if their profile is anything to go by
Spoke to a few but only think about checking this one out

Jellykat · 15/02/2011 18:00

Scorps, I doubt you'll get a chance to come on here today, but i hope you got a babysitter, and we are thinking of you x

I think as one gets to that age you know ..
I thought a lot about my granny last night, she had an amazing life - the stories she told..she dated one of the kings of Egypt-i kid you not..

Anyway..How are we all? Hello simpson Smile

I had a really nice day today.
Feeling positive, had a lovely long natter with DS1 last night, and DS2 got 89% in his maths test!! Grin I'm so proud of him, especially considering he's Dyspraxic and has a terrible memory.

JFTO Come back and tell us which dating website it is Wink

Scorps · 15/02/2011 18:08

Hi all, thankyou for nice sentiments :) Well i saw Grandad today, he looked little but was awake and even made a joke. he had a breathing mask and an oxygen bag on, and machines measuring heart rate etc. He had a heart scan today, results later. He was hungry too which was a good sign. Mum & Dad on way back to UK as we speak.

Jellykat · 15/02/2011 18:33

Hi Scorps, Oooo That sounds positive, i'm glad Smile
Take him in lots of yummy food to feed him up!
Smile

simpson · 15/02/2011 18:44

Scorps - sounds positive Smile

Nothing exciting to report here except the quote for new door is much £££££ Sad

No suprise there Sad

Going to wait for my friend and her husband (he is a builder) to get back from their hols next week and ask him to pop in & quote me....

OP posts:
Jellykat · 15/02/2011 18:59

Why so much simpson? If there's nothing wrong with the frame or door, surely they just need to reposition the hinges and rehang?

Do you think they overpriced because they sussed you didn't have a bloke of the house?

simpson · 15/02/2011 20:29

I don't think so tbh.

Frame is cracked at the top (which happened in my struggle to close it on fri Blush)

Even if they have quoted me more because I am on my own, they have shot themselves in the foot as I won't be using them Grin

Builder friend (the one on holiday) said ages ago that the frame is the wrong size (small or big I forget Blush) and they (the council, mine is ex council house) have tried to cut costs and use it anyway Hmm

Its like the two double doors don't line up iyswim for the lock to catch and door has sunk so big gap at the top (about 2cms - although builder friend filled it with silicone 6mths ago)

Oh well, it seems ok for the minute but could go again at anytime, just hope it lasts till my friend back from hols

OP posts:
Jellykat · 15/02/2011 20:45

Ooo -You cracked the frame simpson, that's one helluva 'yank' you must have Grin

simpson · 15/02/2011 21:18

hehehe Grin

I did not even realise I had done it till today Blush

a bit of advice needed, don't have the guts to start an AIBU Grin Blush

DD goes to a playgroup on mon & thurs morning for 2hrs. She has done a wee a few times on loo there (nowhere else Hmm)

Neighbours DD started there last wk and she is staying for a few sessions to settle her child and she said DD actually asked to do a wee a couple of times and managed it Shock

Planning on potty/toilet training on fri anyway (no school run - teacher training) DD still wears a pull up.

Soooo basically AIBU for sending DD into playgroup tom in knickers and hoping for the best?? Grin Grin

Staff can call me if she makes too much mess (her poos are truley horrid)as I am only round the corner...

OP posts:
Jellykat · 16/02/2011 18:37

Hiya simps..

It's been a while since i had to potty train! but if your DD has managed to ask to go, and you're only around the corner if any accidents happen, and she is happy with the idea...

YANBU, IMO Grin

simpson · 16/02/2011 20:04

Just worried staff might get pissed off Blush

simpson · 17/02/2011 21:31

4 wees on floor at home and half a poo in potty (other half in knickers

Am in the Wine just thinking about doing it all again tomorrow.....

OP posts:
simpson · 17/02/2011 21:54

Also playgroup worker said to DD to wait till she had that "funny feeling in her tummy" and that means she neds a wee....

DD said "no that funny feeling means I need chocolate" Hmm Shock
