just wondering if this has been done before...

I have 2 Dcs (2 & 5) and am bringing them up by myself (H allowed to have phone contact only due to his fuck wittery {I love that phrase Blush Grin})

Sometimes its soooo hard doing it by myself Sad

DS had parents evening today and although his comments from teachers were fab most all of the other parents were couples.

Sometimes it hits me that I have to do everything myself Sad

simpson · 11/02/2011 21:40

heehee you have made me lol Grin

Unfortunately door beyond WD40. Think its dead Sad well as a door can be iyswim.

Lock been dodgy for ages and builder friend said its not fitted properly and has "dropped" so locks not catching....

Can you beleive it I am going to church tomorrow Shock Me, the most non religious person I know!! Shock

DS's school (run by local church) have introduced new type of service...messy play for little kids for 50 mins then a few prayers tc for 10 mins and then free lunch for the kids.

It will get me out of the house (I hate sats) and I might meet someone to chat to Smile

Aah bugger that then..

Church?? I can see why you're going, but i always feel guilty when looking around churches(for architectural appreciation you understand)..Same guilt i feel when i walk past a policeman!

I'm just gonna use this Brew because i haven't yet,it's Friday night, live dangerously Grin

simpson · 11/02/2011 22:04

oooh didn't know there was a Brew sign!!

I am having a much needed Wine

TBH I find sats the worst as all my friends are with their husbands etc and its hard entertaining DC so going to give church a go!!! Grin

Jellykat · 11/02/2011 22:15

I know, gone are the days of a good saturday jumble sale to occupy us all Smile.

Wish i could have a Wine but alcohol makes me maudlin,so i tend to try and avoid,if i'm feeling dicey emotionally.

simpson · 11/02/2011 22:19

I love a good jumble sale especially if they have Brew Grin Grin

H rang today and is still banging on about his fraudulant claim Hmm and it depends on whether he gets ££ to pay for him to come over.

DS refused to talk to him on the phone and I have to admit part of me felt Smile about it, yes you fucker you treat your DC like shit and they don't want to talk to you Blush

OP posts:
Jellykat · 11/02/2011 22:31

yes with fairy cakes too Grin

What goes around may well come around re. H..

My DS1 does actually have a dad,we don't have anything to do with him.He put in a friend request on Facebook a couple of years ago, what a bloody joke..At 22, DS knows a jerk-off when he sees one!

These men may well grow old and lonely, wishing they had had better relationships with their children, they'll be lucky if there is anything left to repair!.

simpson · 11/02/2011 22:39

What gets me through the day is when one of my Dc give me a hug with their lovely chubby little arms

This is what H is missing but it does make me Angry as tbh its an honour to be in my DC lives and H (and is whole bloody family) don't seem to care

Oh well, onwards and upwards Smile

OP posts:
Jellykat · 11/02/2011 23:08

DS1 gives good hugs when he's here, but DS2 is going through the weird body awareness bit of teenagedom,so i have to wait a while for hugs to return..

I have a new nickname in my head for XP - 'the fat controller'..Am beginning to forget what he looks, sounds like.He is slowly becoming an unpleasant memory and not much else Grin

Yes to onwards and upwards!

simpson · 11/02/2011 23:10

The fat controller I like it!!

Grin Grin Grin

simpson · 11/02/2011 23:19

Forgive me for not reading 512 posts! But I would like to say I'm the same, one minute your fine and then it hits you, your the only one by yourself.

Also, don't look at other single Mums and think they are anything better than you, they are just better at hiding it!

Jellykat · 11/02/2011 23:29

Simpson, you're having to jump between the 2 lone parents threads,i'll come over with ya, less travel expenses Grin

Scorps · 11/02/2011 23:33

Sorry you're having a shit day simpson. We go to a church thing like that, not religious either but dc like it and the old ladies are friendly!

My H would be the shit on fat controllers shoe Grin

simpson · 12/02/2011 10:28

LOL jellykat Grin

Think the day is going to go well, not! Hmm

Cats doing my head in already and I can't let them outside.

Welcome MMSMUM Smile

Scorps - friendly old ladies and knackering out the DC sounds good re church. As long as I can have a Brew

Am off in a bit, will let you know how I get on!!

OP posts:
Jellykat · 12/02/2011 17:46

simpson..Your cats need a ladder/plank to get thro' the window, as probably will you in order to retrieve them Grin

How'd it go?..

Today was exciting! I cleaned out the fish tank, and my 'cutlery' draw, counted and bagged up DSs 2p and 5p coins for him to put into the bank, and cleaned some windows..I deserve so much more - honestly i do Wink

Oh i did browse Guardian Soulmates, haven't joined, just lookin'..HeeHee..

simpson · 12/02/2011 18:03

Well I tried to push the kitties out of the kitchen window (thinking that as they sit there looking out a lot, they may find their way back as apposed to front door) but no go, they would not budge Hmm

The church thingie was actually really good and DS was happy because quite a few of his classmates wete there.

They are doing it once a month so will definately give it a go again Smile

Busy tomorrow (exciting life I have!!! Not!!)as its my grandmother's 92nd birthday (asnd probably her last) so we are all going out for a meal. Means I don't have to cook for kids later Grin

My RL friend's hubby is a builder and did my bathroom last yr when I had a massive flood and I asked about him doing back door (as I know he won't rip me off) but they are going on holiday for 2 wks

One DC in bed, one more to go then I can have Wine Grin Grin

OP posts:
Jellykat · 12/02/2011 18:17

PMSL at 'Push the kitties out the of the window'- sounds like some sort of therapy technique!..

Glad your church going was good.

Thats how i think re. Yay- means i don't have to cook! I Bloody hate cooking, night after night..

I do the microwave meal thing occasionally, but don't tell anyone. Grin

simpson · 12/02/2011 18:38

jellykat - am having a microwave meal tonight Grin with Wine

DC were fed earlier and had something equally easy Blush

Have managed to beg persuade DS to go to bed now with portable DVD player so he is now upstairs watching Cars Smile

OP posts:
simpson · 12/02/2011 18:44

Anyone nice on guardian soulmates??

Going to get a few "quotes" for fixing back door, you never know one builder might be strapping 6ft etc Wink

OP posts:
Jellykat · 12/02/2011 19:29

Hmm Well a couple of possibilities..

The fact they do actually have to be 6ft plus, limits it a bit..I have had shorter then me boyfriends in the past, it doesn't work - i end up feeling like a beached whale..

Yes to a few quotes for door, ya do never know Wink

God. Spring hasn't even sprung yet, can see i'm going to have to start jogging or something..and it's bloody stupid valentines.. GGRRRRrrr

mmsmum · 12/02/2011 20:57

Thank you for the welcome! :)

My ideal man would need to be tall too, and preferably work away a lot. Like on an oil rig or cruise ship. Sometimes I think it would be nice to have someone around again but then I think no, he'd just be in my way and get under my feet lol

simpson · 12/02/2011 21:05

hehe I know exactly what you mean Grin

I guess being by ourselves we get into a certain way of doing things and a man may muck that up Hmm

Not that I am saying no to a 6ft hunk you understand Grin Grin

OP posts:
mmsmum · 12/02/2011 21:12

A part time 6ft hunk lol

simpson · 12/02/2011 21:24

oh yes, one who visits when I decide Grin Grin
