Time for a new thread!!

Mellow, congratulations!

Dusty, ds2 would look so cool with a Beatles haircut

Pc, sorry you've all been ill, glad you're on the mend. Can't believe ds will be 2

Vbus, well done on getting dh into the spare room, dh refuses to move from our bed when he's ill!! Hope he's all better for your holiday, where are you going?

We're also ready for a holiday, am waiting for The Sun cheapie deals to start up again!

sfx - welcome back! I do know the Lion and the unicorn. Got comic adventures of boots there. One of the funniest books I've ever read.

UptoapointLordCopper · 02/08/2010 22:09

On the other hand I might just go to Foyles to get music scores, grown-up books and kiddie books all at one go...

sfxmum · 03/08/2010 11:27

hello

does anyone know when the likely day for meet up will be? am trying to get babysitting to go out with dh but don't want it to clash

sfxmum · 03/08/2010 14:09

DS1 took in the laundry for me.

Going to wait for DH to come back to confirm date for night out.

sfxmum · 04/08/2010 12:25

vbus · 04/08/2010 12:55

Funny how that laundry mountain seems to appear when you get back from a trip

Taken boys for haircut this morning, my turn tom. It has grown really long, should I have it all cut off? Can't decide...

sfxmum · 04/08/2010 14:32

tillyfernackerpants · 04/08/2010 15:09

hi all,

sfx, well done on exam results!

vbus, hope you're enjoying your time at your parents.

Been to the Brentford picnic today, unfortunately was a bit of a washout but never mind.

Anyone fancy a daytime meet next week? We're around Monday, Weds & Thurs.

About to do bedtime things, but have anyone seen this? Great fun.

UptoapointLordCopper · 04/08/2010 19:10

Am doing a compulsory online fire safety training course for work. Did you know that you need fuel, oxygen and heat to have a fire? And that's taken about 30 mins because they want to make sure you read everything letter by f**king letter. And that's only 1st part of lesson. And there are 4 more to go. Shoot me now or I might spontaneously combust.

Glass of wine is in order.

Bloody waste of time.

pcworld · 05/08/2010 07:16

Copper - any excuse for a glass of wine eh?

vbus - your hair is lovely, although I can imagine that you would suit short hair. You could always get it cut shorter in stages, too much at once could be traumatic!

sfxmum · 05/08/2010 09:51

hello good morning

lordcopper at least at my fire training we got to use fire extinguishers and had real firemen teaching us

also about interface thingy they all seem to reply 42, obviously programmed by geeks in search of the question

hoping to drag dd to Kew later on, weather look worst for tomorrow so will have to think of something else
I have the Time Out for children in London and it is giving me ideas
has anyone been to the Wetlands centre? it is near by but I have never been

UptoapointLordCopper · 05/08/2010 10:58

Hello!

Been to Lidl - they've got jigsaw puzzles and stencils and how-to-draw-everything guides.

sfx - been to Wetland centre. Expensive, but acres of space. Quite fun. If you are going to Kew you might bump into DS1 who is there with CM. We will be doing British Museum next week to see ancient writing implements.

Has anyone tried Anna from Ikea for virtual assistance?

You said: Boo!
Anna said: I'm not sure what you're trying to exclaim. Please be a little more detailed if you can.

Has she been on a parenting course, you reckon?

Now must hang out laundry.

tillyfernackerpants · 05/08/2010 12:22

Copper, is that the Lidl in West Ealing? Will check it out, always on the lookout for things like that. There's another Poundland shop opened in Ealing as well (what a surprise ) but they have some art books etc as well.

sfx, haven't been to Wetlands, never really appealed to me! I think the National Theatre have some things on during the summer, they set up an area outside for little shows etc. I was planning on taking the boys one day, for them just going on the train is exciting!

UptoapointLordCopper · 05/08/2010 12:29

tilly - it's in Hanwell next to Poundstretcher, just outside west ealing. I've bought a 200-piece Disney Jungle Book jigsaw, to be wheeled out next week when I don't have childcare! Wilkinson does lots of arts and crafty bits as well. We have little foam shapes and sewing kits from them, though Hobbycraft have dinosaur foam stickers which clearly beats all other shops.

sfxmum · 05/08/2010 12:45

kew plans aborted apparently I have to write a plan in advance so that she will commit to it - timetable for next week printing

I want to take her to the usual museums, not too expensive when we take a packed lunch
also planning on British Museum/ Transport and Childhood and yes the train is an adventure for her, not so much for me I find it incredibly stressful and claustrophobic but hey best way to keep her busy

I really want to spend some time at Kew I miss it

vbus · 05/08/2010 13:24

Hello all

Sfx - we are planning to go London sometime so we could go together if you like. DS1 also wants to go Transport museum. Never been to Wetlands either, I'm sure it's great but I agree doesn't sound v.exciting!

BTW DS1 was v. impressed that you went to see Mr Tumble. A moment later he looked perplexed and then asked how Mr Tumble could be at the fest and on tv at the same time? I told him it was magic

DS1 has swimming lessons so at least that's next week sorted
PCW thanks - she just cut off 4inches and I opted for long bob, not brave enough for big chop. Hope you're continuing to settle in well

vbus · 05/08/2010 13:25

Copper meant to say link was funny

tillyfernackerpants · 05/08/2010 14:35

Maybe a MN trip to transport museum? Think ds1 will enjoy it. I think you can get a 2 for 1 entry voucher if you use the overground trains
