Time for a new thread!!

Mellow, congratulations!

Dusty, ds2 would look so cool with a Beatles haircut

Pc, sorry you've all been ill, glad you're on the mend. Can't believe ds will be 2

Vbus, well done on getting dh into the spare room, dh refuses to move from our bed when he's ill!! Hope he's all better for your holiday, where are you going?

We're also ready for a holiday, am waiting for The Sun cheapie deals to start up again!

pcworld · 24/07/2010 21:22

Whoops, got that one wrong - meant to say I can't do w/c 9th Aug.

Am I still allowed on this board for the occasional guest visit

sfxmum · 24/07/2010 21:55

tilly it is slippery slope all that ever so slightly unreconstructed ape like malebut I ended up having a favourite
babysitting sounds glorious
booked for 28th 19.40, looking forward to it
screen 5

pcW hope the rest of the Summer is good too as well as the start of the new academic year, short walk to school always a bonus, but we are always nearly very late

dustythedolphin · 24/07/2010 22:35

PC glad your move went well - it sounds gorgeous where you are!! Glad you love it

Kew - sounds v intriguing!!!

We're getting back into slow pace of life here after manic week in London...

Oh and I passed my probation yesterday! My boss through a woobly on Thurs, rang up screaming down the phone at me, throwing her toys about and threatening to postpone probation meeting, but she seemed sane again the next day and was acting normally. So I now have a proper perm job in Ireland !!! Whooo Hoooo

Hope your weather is better than our's though - its very grey and windy here today!

dustythedolphin · 24/07/2010 22:36

Ooops - Threw a wobbly, NOT "through a woobly"

UptoapointLordCopper · 25/07/2010 18:44

Hello!

Dusty - LOL at boss throwing toys about. What toys? And congratulations on job! And we still have nice weather here.

Richmond park and John Lewis tomorrow. Anyone in Kingston after lunch?

tillyfernackerpants · 25/07/2010 19:41

Dusty, yay on job though feel for you with manager. I had one like her, was a nightmare!!

Sfx, yes can see it would be a slippery slope , but I think its partly the laziness with the names, thought she could've been slightly more creative!

Pc, will look at dates & let you know!! I also like the short walk to school but ds1's school starts at a slightly odd time and he will have to be at school for 8.40 at the latest

OP posts:
sfxmum · 25/07/2010 20:02

dusty good news on job, and what a loony

tilly names are vices and sins badly disguised, I find them hilarious, reading my proper book now, names mostly Japanese and Dutch, bit hard to keep track in early pages

went to Toy Story 3 highly recommend it, then next door for dinner, not totally shattered
dd to bed now, I might follow soon after, she is telling me we need a quiet day tomorrow, I tend to agree we had a full on busy weekend

tillyfernackerpants · 25/07/2010 20:45

I also highly recommend Toy Story, might need some tissues though

OP posts:
deaddei · 25/07/2010 20:48

I had a lovely savoury crepe in Cafe Paulo's today
Such a nice place.

sfxmum · 26/07/2010 10:53

hello all planning on lazy day here, only day with nothing on until next Tuesday

tilly I was very worried when the furnace loomed and they held hands, and when Andy met the little girl loved the baby can't wait to see it again

lordcopper dd keeps talking about the meringues 'can you make them delicious like that too?' ...ehem

vbus · 26/07/2010 13:59

Hello all

We're also v. tired after hectic wkend, v. quiet day here too.
I agree the meringues were delicious!

Sfx - glad you enjoyed film but don't tell me any more about film please! Will try and watch next wk

Tilly - glad you're having a good week at your parents.

PCW - that's great that you've settled in so well. We would love to visit, later in Aug maybe

Kew - sign up for night out so we can hear all the juice

Dusty - your boss is a nutcase but well done on passing probation

Hello Deaddai - who are you?

sfxmum · 26/07/2010 14:20

sorrytotally thoughtless carried away

deaddei · 26/07/2010 14:25

Hello!!!
I actually live in New Malden, but spend lots of time eating and shopping in Richmond.

vbus · 26/07/2010 14:57

Welcome Deaddei, tell us a bit more about yourself. I'm in Teddington with 2 boys 20mths and 4.5yrs old.

Just watched Wallace and Gromit with DS1, hilarious

UptoapointLordCopper · 26/07/2010 16:36

Hello!

Been out all day. Just returned. Bought all kinds of school uniform stuff. Had to look quite hard to get cotton trousers. These people are mad.

Deaddai - we are in Hanwell and don't even eat or shop much in Richmond. But these lot don't seem to mind us turning up now and then.

sfx - with that much sugar and chocolate in it, meringues cannot help being nice.

UptoapointLordCopper · 26/07/2010 18:37

Kids "playing" chess now. Lots of "ah ha" and
"oh no" and "I've eaten my brother's horsy!"

pcworld · 27/07/2010 07:25

Good morning! Sorry to kick off today's ponderings with such a dull subject - BUT ... vbus/sfx - with ref to carpet cleaning - did you go for a steam clean or a non-toxic chemical clean? Am in the market for a carpet clean and not sure which one of these is best! Thrilling stuff, eh?

Oh - and thank you for the lovely cards We are now properly on broadband - ta da!

sfxmum · 27/07/2010 09:14

pcW we had a non toxic thing, I think it did the job as best as it could as we had a number of bad stains, and they look refreshed

hi everyone, off to take dd to optometrist just to check everything is ok

vbus · 27/07/2010 13:41

Hi PCW - we went for steam clean as he said our carpets were 2/10 on scale of badness, he said he wished all his carpets were that easy to clean!

Been to playgroup this morning with friend, now just waiting for delivery. Still immensly tired, equals Cbeebies overload for DC!

Sfx/Tilly - are you getting excited?

sfxmum · 27/07/2010 13:48

vbus ridiculously excited actually

dd has excellent eyesight and very healthy eyes, that is good news for daughter of myopic parents

trying to get local playdate energy still low might drag child to shops to pass the time

vbus · 27/07/2010 14:00

Sfx - not just me then?
Good news about DD's eyesight

Need to pop into chemist after delivery, not terribly exciting. Was going to try DS1 at holiday camp tom but they need some meds in case he has an allergic reaction

sfxmum · 27/07/2010 16:41

I must be careful as I keep thinking today is still Monday
we went out again and dd took a snack box filled with fruit, s much easier when it is her idea

vbus · 27/07/2010 20:48

Yes, it's always better when it's their decision

I'm exhausted but excited again, had builders and architects round today as well. I think we're going to crack on with kitchen project. We decided no point in delaying the work as we're going to do it anyway and it is such a long process, have to start somewhere

Going to head in to Kingston tom in an attempt to complete rest of school uniform purchase, if anyone about and wants to meet just text me

UptoapointLordCopper · 27/07/2010 21:35

vbus - we did Kingston John Lewis on Monday. They don't do cotton trousers. Ended up getting some in Gap .

sfxmum · 27/07/2010 22:35

no one does cotton trousers for school uniforms I find
at least with the girls we can put cotton next to skin with the t-shirt under dresses or over skirts along with cotton tights

have all uniform now except for shoes

another busy day tomorrow first running errands with dd, packing then cinema
la la la

and not much rain forecast for the camping weekend festival
