Time for a new thread!!

Mellow, congratulations!

Dusty, ds2 would look so cool with a Beatles haircut

Pc, sorry you've all been ill, glad you're on the mend. Can't believe ds will be 2

Vbus, well done on getting dh into the spare room, dh refuses to move from our bed when he's ill!! Hope he's all better for your holiday, where are you going?

We're also ready for a holiday, am waiting for The Sun cheapie deals to start up again!

btw vbus dd asked if your DS1 could come over to play once her spots are gone, apparently she misses him and has things to discuss with him I expect Ice Age related but she is not telling

UptoapointLordCopper · 09/07/2010 09:55

Hello!

Dodgy internet connection lately. The only thing that comes up really quickly is Google. Conspiracy?

sfx - LOL at DD and having "things to discuss". So grown up!

Want to bake cake: should it be chocolate cake, double espresso, coffee and ginger or banana caramel? Which one is the healthiest?

SushiMummy · 09/07/2010 12:58

oops i tested to see if i could post from my blackberry but got a message it didn't go so i thought it wasn't posted.

off to the big school for induction. DS had high fever last night so we took him to teddington walk, he has tonsillitis. he seems so much better already thanks to ABs.

hope everyone is well.

vbus · 09/07/2010 14:10

sfx - that is so funny, DS1 also wanted to tell minisfx that he has watched Ice Age 3 now and wants to chat about it Hopefully they can meet up during the hols

Sushi - poor DS. Hope he feels better and that induction goes well

Copper - go for choc cake but no point in trying to pretend it's healthy!

Still have shed loads to do today, returned keys for last house, felt quite sad about it. DH's BF is coming over tonight, such bad timing, he will need cheering up (separating from his wife ) and we need to pack just need to get through today...

sfxmum · 09/07/2010 19:47

lordcopper what did you bake? I thought about baking but it was just too hot

vbus will have to sort something out, she is now discovering Sesame Street can't believe I remember so much of it

UptoapointLordCopper · 09/07/2010 20:15

sfx - didn't bake cake. 3 loaves of bread is quite enough on such a hot day. Defrosted olive-oil-orange-almond-apricot cake stowed away in freezed for a rainy day.

sfxmum · 09/07/2010 20:52

there is no such thing as leftover cake, reserve cake in our house, there is cake and oops it is in our tummy pronto gluttony is a sin I understand

hope to run longer than lately tomorrow probably be limping but am hopping for 6 miles

UptoapointLordCopper · 09/07/2010 21:08

at sfx hopping for 6 miles. Must be all that cake.

sfxmum · 09/07/2010 21:14

wouldn't I need tons of carrots for that? sleep sleep I need sleep

tillyfernackerpants · 10/07/2010 13:40

hi all

vbus/sfx, ds1 also watched IA3 so guess he'll be happy to chat about it too he's always going on about it with me 'mummy do you remember....'

Are people around over the holidays? I'm going away the first week but will no doubt be desperate for meet ups! Am always happy to host a paddling pool party at mine for a change!

pcw, can't believe you're going so soon

Can't quite believe we're having such a nice summer, seems a while since we've had one! Both ds's have pretty much been naked apart from when we have to venture into public. Though ds1 did ask if he could be a rudey dudey (as we call them!) in school

sfxmum · 10/07/2010 21:28

tilly we will likely stay in London for most if not all of August so yes please to a few meet up& play dates

I slept this morning quite a lot as did dd it did us good, running tomorrow it was just too hot by the time I got up

UptoapointLordCopper · 10/07/2010 22:15

We'll also be mostly around in July and August, but with a messy childcare/work arrangement... Paddling pool party sounds just the thing!

dustythedolphin · 11/07/2010 21:11

Vbus hope it all went well with packing and needy friends etc

SFX journey thru Ireland was great (got to ferry 2 hrs early!!) but once in UK hit horrible road works thru Wales and Cardiff's Friday traffic - took 7 hrs instead of 5. Popped into school social (nice and all the teachers were VERY tipsy ) and arrived at holiday flat at 10pm to find we were locked out and landlady had to get a locksmith... eventually got access at midnight!

Anyone going to 2cute's party next week???

Hope to see some of you maybe Weds/Thurs after school for picnic if its sunny maybe???

UptoapointLordCopper · 12/07/2010 12:51

Welcome back Dusty! Where are you staying?

Not sure what's happening but may be able to make picnic on Wednesday after school.

tillyfernackerpants · 12/07/2010 20:12

Hi dusty, nice to bump into to you today, if a bit bizarre!!

Picnic at Kew on Thurs anyone?

sfx, have just finished the second Millennium book, need a break & something easy to read before I start on the last one! Did quite enjoy it though

OP posts:
Kewcumber · 13/07/2010 15:13

we are on hols but back saturday if you are still around dusty?

UptoapointLordCopper · 13/07/2010 17:57

Hello!

Can't do picnic Weds/Thurs after all.

Bloody exhausted.

sfxmum · 13/07/2010 18:32

hello all

curfew nearly over I think

dolphin we are likely to make it on Thursday after school I think particularly if dd goes to school tomorrow and falls back into her rhythm

tilly must tell you about my current trashy reads

hope everyone is well

pcworld · 13/07/2010 20:11

Oh, that's good, SFX - am sure you are fed up! How is dd feeling?

All is rather strange here as we are carrying on as normal! Have had a big sort-out but not too much to get rid of. Planning to be back in London now and then over the summer so might be able to hook up with some of you if you are around.

May make Thurs afternoon - depending on how organised we are feeling! It would certainly be nice to. Went to Kew this morning and it was lovely and fresh.

Off to mass produce some cookies now to keep the troops happy on Friday

UptoapointLordCopper · 14/07/2010 09:58

Hello!

Posting on random threads while eating chickpeas. The morning doesn't get better than this!

PC - are you really really moving now?

Dusty - I think we're going to miss seeing you this round. Can't seem to squeeze everything to be done in a 24-hour day.

sfx - I need some trashy reads. Reading a most peculiar and slightly depressing Chinese book ATM. And finished last Rebus book. Perhaps I'll try that Millennium trilogy thing. Recommended?

sfxmum · 14/07/2010 10:35

hello all

pcW dd is fine thanks and should probably be at school her face is quite marked so we are waiting a little longer to see if some spots fade a little more

lordcopper I would recommend it if you aren't bothered by violence and preening men I think the overall story holds interest and I learnt stuff about Sweden I wasn't aware of

  • my current trashies are very trashy indeed but terribly addictive
I have the latest David Mitchell lined up I absolutely love his books so it is sitting on my table and I am flirting with it, at some point shall pounce and devour it
sfxmum · 14/07/2010 10:37

and Dusty I am likely to go for a couple of drinks at least, do you want to meet up beforehand? I am not very good at showing up to parties in clubs by myself tbh those places scare me, am more used to rock/indie clubs

dustythedolphin · 14/07/2010 10:50

Copper IKWYM about not being able to fit everything in!!!

We can make picnic after school on Thursday

SFX we are at the kid's old school's disco on Friday from 7-9pm and I was planning to pop into pub for a drink afterwards but I will have kids with me and the pub said NO KIDS ALLOWED so I have a bit of a dilemna as to how I can "pop" in as we're staying at Heathrow...I can't "pop" home to deposit kids and then "pop" to pub as its too far -

dustythedolphin · 14/07/2010 10:51

...would love to see 2cute though and meet you first...
