Time for a new thread!!

Mellow, congratulations!

Dusty, ds2 would look so cool with a Beatles haircut

Pc, sorry you've all been ill, glad you're on the mend. Can't believe ds will be 2

Vbus, well done on getting dh into the spare room, dh refuses to move from our bed when he's ill!! Hope he's all better for your holiday, where are you going?

We're also ready for a holiday, am waiting for The Sun cheapie deals to start up again!

hello

kewC that would have been a full blown meltdown I think

lordcopper I suppose once you have it you have to spend it, helps the economy.

dull day here, just music class in the morning and rest in the afternoon, dh working
I am looking at the revision plan
worked out a running plan to do at the same time, should keep me sane

Kewcumber · 15/05/2010 22:52

I once spent $400 on a black scarf (Barney's New York) Times have changed somewhat!

sfxmum · 16/05/2010 17:22

I am being wildly optimistic I think, have now washed most of my summer T-shirts and shirts, and dusted off summer trousers

was thinking of entering this race
as it is open to all the family, dd has been going on about how she has not been in any races and she does not have a medal like mummy pink race and daddy red race

vbus · 16/05/2010 19:34

hello all

Sfx- Heat has been promised this week, you wouldn't think it looking out of the window right now
Race looks fun, BP is lovely. DD will be able to add to your family's collection of medals!

Had a good wkend, school fair was much better than I thought it would be and even had a fake beach, lucky it was sunny yesterday. Then went out for friend's leaving do last night. Did v. little today as a result DH left for USA this morning, just got before next ash disruption

Seeing as we have not been able to organise a night out yet, does anyone fancy a night in Fri 21st at mine? I realise it's short notice, but if anyone is free and wants to come over in the evening for chat, drinks & bit of food/nibbles, please let me know

Kewcumber · 16/05/2010 19:51

would normally love it vbus but I'm down in Brighton to see something on the BRighton Fringe on Thursday (furthest I've been form DS overnight) Then out at my nephews 18th on Saturday night - not likely to convince my mum that I need another nights free babysitting on Friday night!

dustythedolphin · 16/05/2010 21:52

I;d love to come VB but I'd get home far too late

I once splashed out £400 on a didgeridoo

pcworld · 17/05/2010 13:51

Hello SFX - race looks like a great idea! Dusty - how are things? At this end, moving plans motoring along, but no dates just yet. Is nerve-wracking!

Vbus - yes, I am up for Fri night!

Managed (somehow - with ds in tow) to make a few purchases in Uniqlo this morning, just tried them on and they all fit I guess I'll just have to keep everything

vbus · 17/05/2010 14:08

Hello

PCW - glad yo can make it Bonus on uniqlo shop!
Dusty/Kew - such lame excuses, I don't know...

Dusty - So do you play the didgeridoo?

Have been ebaying lots of stuff lately, had to take loads of parcels to PO this morning, the people behind me in the queue must've loved me, especially as only one other counter open

sfxmum · 17/05/2010 15:48

hello all

pcW love Uniqlo their jeans actually fit me, great for loads of basics
hold steady with move, hope it goes smoothly

vbus not sure if I can make it might depend on how well the week goes

dolphin dd likes Rolf Harris and apparently Bill Oddie almost like a child of the seventies

I am revising exam is in a month with half term in between, the task seems immense at the moment

but had very productive day so far
managed exercise housework and study, feel almost like a proper person

tillyfernackerpants · 17/05/2010 21:19

sfx, well done on productive day!! Race looks great.

vbus, would love to come on Fri if you're going ahead with it

dusty, do you still have the digeridoo?!

pc, bonus on shopping, it would be too much hassle to take them back so may as well keep it all!

Haven't been up to much lately, procastinating over study, that's been about it!!

vbus · 18/05/2010 14:26

UptoapointLordCopper · 18/05/2010 16:26

Hello!

Busy work. Exhausting.

vbus - sorry can't make Friday. Night-in sounds just the thing though...

sfxmum · 18/05/2010 17:06

hello

more revising and a little running here otherwise I can see I would nibble my way into an extra stone by the time the exam comes along

lovely day

vbus we nearly joined you but dd was too knackered
Friday looking unlikely think will revise around Lost have tutorial/ exam prep on Saturday and Sunday sister's birthday, another day then

don't forget our Twilight date

tilly thanks for encouragement

lordcopper hope busy job is pleasant and not tipping the balance

people seem to like giving blood in west London having to book session quite a few weeks in advance - think that is a good thing

UptoapointLordCopper · 18/05/2010 18:15

sfx - unpleasant busy, unfortunately.

Have tamarind date cake in the oven. Felt a bit jittery on account of not having baked cakes/biscuits for a while. Also need energy food. Sick of cereal.

tillyfernackerpants · 18/05/2010 20:37

sfx, ooh yes, not long now till Eclipse Shame you can't make Friday, I'm driving if you change your mind!

Copper, hope things calm down a little for you. Cake sounds delicious

Have lots of work on now, first course booked in must get organised

OP posts:
UptoapointLordCopper · 18/05/2010 20:46

sfxmum · 18/05/2010 20:53

tilly will bear it in mind thanks but worried about being with it' Saturday morning

am dithering about the next course have 3 options might actually start one i October and another in February which means juggling 2 for a few months, while hopefully doing some kind of paid work

decisions

sfxmum · 18/05/2010 20:54

tilly meant to add just get going you will enjoy it

UptoapointLordCopper · 18/05/2010 20:59

Cake is odd, but nice. First mouthful a bit strange, but addicted by end of slice.

sfxmum · 18/05/2010 21:51

I find cake generally addictive anyway

is anyone on last FM? my only friend there is DH who keeps sending me odd music stuff to listen to

UptoapointLordCopper · 19/05/2010 11:29

What's last fm?

This cake is even better today.

sfxmum · 19/05/2010 11:53

lordcopper it is a sort of music networking site, personally it is great to find new music as these days I seldom listen to radio music stations, and it nice to learn what people who like the same music I do are listening to
it also means I can find out about new bands/ singers info and get links to gigs etc

another day of revising but had very nice walk by the river this morning -GLORIOUS shame I was only running errands

Aila · 19/05/2010 12:56

Hello, Just wanted to introduce myself, we have just moved to barnes (near white hart lane), I have DS 2.5 and DD 1.3.

I am surrounded by boxes at the moment but my little ones are getting a bit fed up of me unpacking so I was hoping for some tips for playgroups/things to do please!!

I understand that there is cheeky monkeys in St stephens church, but details of anything else would be great.

thanks so much.

Kewcumber · 19/05/2010 14:40

experts for the younger ones would be vbus, tillyferknackerpants and anyone with a better memory than mine!

There used to be a few things in the methodist church hall in barnes (on the green) I'm sure I took DS to a music class there that was pay as you go.

vbus · 19/05/2010 21:22

Hello all

Aila - Welcome I'm in Teddington with 2 boys 4.5 & 1.5 yrs old. We do sometimes go to Cheeky Monkeys on Tues so let me know if you want to meet there. Kew Gardens is great too, esp in the summer, most of us on here have passes and meet there. Worth looking into.
Where have you moved from? Good luck with the unpacking, not so easy with 2 little ones under your feet

Slng - another time Cake sounds nice. Think I tried something similar at Wagamama's

Sfx - Pity you didn't come, Kew was fab, we were practically the last to leave! Looking fwd to Eclipse too, can't wait even

Tilly - when does your course start?

kew - Enjoy Fringe!
