Hi all, can't believe I have to start the new thread

Slng, lol @ ds2!

Sfx, sparkle sounds nice!

I'm having to bribe ds1 to leave the house atm, that can't be right surely

He had his nativity yesterday, all lines remembered though there was a bit of yawning during it

Good morning!

Beautiful day. DH out on cycle ride. What should we do? May take kids to have a look at the disco even though they say they don't want to dance ...

Sfx - do two essays now and just hand the other one in later.

dusty - you can take a girl out of West London but not West London out of a girl. Or something like that. Just don't disappear completely! When are you moving in?

tillyfernackerpants · 03/01/2010 18:00

vbus, never mind. We only have Mon as ds1 back in school on Tues. Will be lovely to see your cousin though

Dusty, shame about the heating, hope its fixed quickly for you, though I imagine you're enjoying the hotel

We went to the Lookout today in Bracknell. Very very cold but ds1 had lots of fun with his cousins.

sfxmum · 03/01/2010 19:43

hello all

slng did you go dancing?

we had a quiet day, mr.sfx went for his run, dd told him how to do the proper post run stretches, she is very bossy

took dd for a freezing walk to the playground then I went running

dh back to work tomorrow dd back to school Wednesday think will go swimming tomorrow then rest Tuesday. don't feel ready for dd to go to school fulltime but only in some ways, it is complicated this parenting business

must buckle down and try to finish essay tonight, if only dd stops calling me before 9pm it would be great

slng · 03/01/2010 20:45

sfx - we peered at the door, and the kids didn't want to go in. They basically don't like loud noises... It was a shame - quite a few kids dancing about in there and looked really fun.

sfxmum · 03/01/2010 22:32

wasn't the anger racing loud? dd not keen on noisy either, generally speaking but somehow does not seem to mind loud music at festival

sfxmum · 03/01/2010 22:32

meant banger

too long looking at screen

slng · 04/01/2010 09:01

Morning!

Might do the Lookout centre today!

sfx - banger racing quite loud. DS2 had hands over ears almost the whole time. But it's outdoors and not as relentless as enclosed place with loud music, I think.

pcworld · 04/01/2010 09:17

Morning all! Brrr, a chilly one although I think we will still brave Kew (C&C!) I can't believe the hols are nearly over and dd is back to school tomorrow - am

sfxmum · 04/01/2010 10:00

hello the plan is pools in the park looks so icy white out...
speaking of cold, yesterday on way back from playground, dd decided that she wanted everyone to see her pretty t-shirt and started unzipping her coat and fleece we had a disagreement, my word the tantrum!

dusty are you know cosy at home?

but at least is it pretty

almost finished essay just a few tweaks tonight then send off with possibly even an hour to spare

sfxmum · 04/01/2010 20:00

helloooooo

sent essay with hrs to spare
swimming great shame I was too stressed to enjoy day out
will aim for quiet day tomorrow

slng · 04/01/2010 20:34

Hello!

SFX - well done with essay!

We went to the Lookout centre. It was very nice, but COLD. Kids were very enamoured with the water play of all things... Had to entice them indoors so we didn't freeze. Must do it again when it's warmer.

sfx - DS2 often goes out in shorts and sandals, even in this weather. But I generally insist on socks and jumpers and coat.

School tomorrow

tillyfernackerpants · 05/01/2010 03:33

Slng, we like the Lookout as well. We went on Sunday when we had to bribe the dc's with sweets to get them to go inside, they wanted to carry on building camps in the woods but we were freezing!

Sfx, well done on essay. Must get on with mine this week

Ds2 not happy today. We went to a soft play this morning and he wrenched his foot or his leg and now can't put any weight on it. I waited for the dr to call back but he never did , poor ds2 has been crying off and on and not settled very well tonight hence the time of this post

OP posts:
stepfordwife · 05/01/2010 06:33

blimey, tilly, hope you got some sleep after your post! hope ds2's foot is ok, poor little thing.

love the lookout, too, my sis lives in bracknell so been a few times. keep meaning to take ds2 to ice rink in bracknell.(dry ski slopes too) anyone been?

well done on getting essay done, sfx.
am up and on MN working to meet my deadline today.

yes, back to school today. what a drag. i hate the thought of dd being full-time, too. she's very excited, tho. a) she can now bring in a packed lunch - oh the heady thrill of a lurid pink lunch bag
b) she gets to play in the big playground

will give me more working hours during day, though.
right, better get on with it
toodlepip

sfxmum · 05/01/2010 10:09

good morning all

tilly hope ds2 was seen and is being treated poor baby and poor you what a dreadful night

steppie dd now says she does not want packed lunches but still wants to take the very pink lunchbox bribing her with pink milk and cheese sandwiches

I can't get used to the idea of fulltime am missing her already and she only starts tomorrow

I was looking for snow shoes online, apres ski type, for dd but there are none in dd's size at a reasonable price, there were plenty about just around Christmas

you lot should not encourage me in my very poor student ways, I did not read the Unit just the bits needed for one of the essay option and all of that in about 4days
must not do the same again next time

stepfordwife · 05/01/2010 10:29

..is there any other way of studying?

sfxmum · 05/01/2010 10:57

DH has told me he is very proud of me too, apparently I just need copious beer drinking abilities to have the full uni experience, I think he is leaving out the really good part of that

sfxmum · 05/01/2010 13:51

another product of clear up

does anyone need/want pull up pants/potty training large 32-40lbs? also have disposable bed mats

going free to a good home

pcworld · 05/01/2010 14:59

Oh dear, Tilly - poor ds2 - have you managed to get him seen? The walk-in places are great, there is a new one in Hounslow that is fantastic and I got the whole family seen there very quickly one Sunday morning just before Christmas when everybody was ill.

dd is back at school today, I was SO not ready for the school run - and dd had "a tummyache" . But at least the first day back is done and dusted. I have hot choc for the post-school tiredness and shivers and that way there is not such a rush with tea. Trying to have a complete overhaul of finances and generally to get organised with paperwork (yawn emoticon) - but am getting underway. Need this to be a year of achievement!

Am really wondering what to do this week - feeling a bit lethargic plus it is too cold to make any firm plans - doing the school run twice a day may be enough, lol! Talking of which ...

PS: Did I already say "Happy New Year" one and all?! I hope everyone had a fab festive time

stepfordwife · 05/01/2010 15:39

happy new year to you, too, pcworld..and one and all...

well done on first day school run done. hope all enjoying their hot choc.
am really lucky as escaped the walk of (late) shame for ther first day back...dh works at home on tuesday so i can have a long working day with no school runs.
procrastination has been held at bay for once..mind you, didn't bother changing out of my PJs and my lovely, snuggly, new dressing gown - xmas pressie from sis.

don't fret pets, will bathe and change into new PJs for this evening....well, might do

like you, pc, want to get my act together re finances and paperwork....accounts got to be in by jan 31. arrrraaaaaggghhh.
this year WILL be different.

ahhh, the brood are back..,,

slng · 05/01/2010 15:58

Hello all!

First day of school done! Might not be school tomorrow if snow...

Paperwork = shredder.

sfxmum · 05/01/2010 16:22

just how much snow is expected in London? seriously plans to close schools?

sfxmum · 05/01/2010 18:07

slng check out the MN webchats your baker is on

vbus · 05/01/2010 19:16

Hello all

Tilly - how is poor DS2, did doc get back to you?

Sfx - well done on essay blitz. I hope you're not going to start drinking snakebite (the drink of all students )

Slng - glad you enjoyed Lookout, DS1 also loved the water area, tis lots of fun

Dusty - how is new home? Details please!

Steppie - LOL at thought of changing out of pj's into pj's

PCW - hope you all enjoyed hot choc, I call it liquid happiness

Teething seems to be easing, rtn of appetite and only 1 wake up last night, felt vaguely human when I woke today. Been shopping Richmond which was lovely. Great to see my cousin and family yesterday. Getting ready for back to nursery tom although not sure if school will open they said could be 10cm of snow in SE...DH been told to take his laptop home for the rest of this week

slng · 05/01/2010 19:38

Our school seems particularly wimpy about snow. One flake and it's shut. Maybe some teachers live in the sticks.

sfx - baker's a genius.

slng · 05/01/2010 19:40

Bloody hell. Isn't it cold? I need a drink.
