Hi all, can't believe I have to start the new thread

Slng, lol @ ds2!

Sfx, sparkle sounds nice!

I'm having to bribe ds1 to leave the house atm, that can't be right surely

He had his nativity yesterday, all lines remembered though there was a bit of yawning during it

Hello

Hope everyone is well.

Back from snowy Wales last night and had a lovely break. Bizarrely on the motorway a sign flashed up '50 animals crossing, slow down'. Then a mile later it said '40 animals crossing slow down', I was busy thinking how did they know there were 50 animals, and how did the numbers precisely reduce by 10, then I realised the numbers were referring to the speed limit Well, I didn't see any animals nor did I slow down

Is there a back up plan if weather wet tom? PCW - pity you can't make it Looking fwd to catch up

Kewcumber · 18/02/2010 10:03

well C&C will be fine regardless of weather. PLaces like funky monkey will presumably be jam packed if its raining?

UptoapointLordCopper · 18/02/2010 12:00

Hello!

C&C would probably be jam-packed as well, wouldn't it? I really want to see the orchids so we'll do whatever and then head there. Though DC would probably insist on the treetop walk thing. Unless the sky is falling down. Then we'll do Plan B. >

And then Chinese restaurant lunch. That's after Plan whatever.

UptoapointLordCopper · 18/02/2010 12:01

LOL at vbus and the animals. What I want to know is how they tell the animals to cross there. And how the animals know to cross and not to wander about... What animals, anyway?

UptoapointLordCopper · 18/02/2010 14:09

Bored bored bored.

Kewcumber · 18/02/2010 14:24

hey slng can we gatecrash your lunch? Where are you planning to go?

If there aren't too many people then you can come around my house.

UptoapointLordCopper · 18/02/2010 15:01

Puddles + kids = cure for boredom.

Kew - was going to go to Maxim in Northfields (pros: on way back, cons: no dim sum) or Imperial China in Teddington (pros: dim sum, cons: no idea where it is or whether there is parking). Most welcome to join in. Any other suggestions?

In fact will phone teddington restaurant now to see if they have parking.

UptoapointLordCopper · 18/02/2010 15:15

They have parking outside shop but "sometimes it gets busy".

sfxmum · 18/02/2010 15:54

hello all

vbus LOL at number of animals very precise culling

slng I went to that one in Teddington parking not bad I really liked the food reasonable prices would go back have address if you want

KewC I think mellow is coming too we planned to meet at Vicky gate at 10 don't really care about the weather we have been on the trains today visiting relative

Kew has plenty of greenhouses/covered spaces to avoid spending much time at C&C

might take dd to Richmond for lunch if I can get her a haircut appointment

Kewcumber · 18/02/2010 16:04

I'm happy with either teddington or northfields. I know no decent chinese around here - only Thai - there's a fat boys in brentford if you fancy Thai dim sum instead?

UptoapointLordCopper · 18/02/2010 16:19

sfx - is it Imperial China?

sfxmum · 18/02/2010 16:23

Imperial China in Teddington 196-198 Stanley Road TW11 8UE
weirdly all I can remember is that the big sign outside says seafood restaurant inside is all black lacquer and stylised design I liked it

UptoapointLordCopper · 18/02/2010 17:03

Don't fancy Thai ... Both are about the same distance from Kew, though there is a (low) possibility of getting lost trying to get to teddington. The vote is split between peking duck, dim sum and undecided. I suppose Imperial China does both duck and dum sum (and probably a dish called undecided too)... Hmmm....

Kewcumber · 18/02/2010 17:17

or how about these which are in richmond

UptoapointLordCopper · 18/02/2010 18:17

Kew - have you been to any on the list? I haven't but was told that shanghai village is no good. Bit scared of Chinese restaurants, really! I've heard good things about Imperial China (and SFX likes it, so must be OK ), and we've been to Maxim and it wasn't bad. Hmmm... Perhaps you could cast the deciding vote?

sfxmum · 18/02/2010 18:25

cause I am an expert me
but looking at the clientèle seemed credible, and tasty

anyway I can't join you am taking dd to giraffe then hairdresser at 2pm

sfxmum · 18/02/2010 18:26

about the food they had some really nice steamed stuff I prefer those to fried the squid was delicious too

vbus · 18/02/2010 19:12

Will bail out on lunch too as have playdate in afternoon and also need to fit in DS2's nap. Might bring packed lunch with me though and head off after that.

Who is coming?
vbus
sfx
kc
copper
tilly
mellow

hope I didn't forget anyone

Not sure why animals would want to cross the M4 with a zillion cars going at 70mph, even at 50mph it would be tricky

Kewcumber · 18/02/2010 19:37

I may bring Bran with me but her gran is ill so she may have to bail at the last minute.

Lets go the teddington one then and we can blame sfx if its no good. The only chinese I thought was any good in Richmond was the four regions on Kew road but that was some time ago.

UptoapointLordCopper · 18/02/2010 20:07

Teddington it is then!

tillyfernackerpants · 18/02/2010 20:34

I'm going to have to bail out entirely tomorrow . I think ds2 may have conjunctivitis, lots of gunk coming out of his eyes at any rate, so will probably have to take him to the drs tomorrow.

Ds1 does have an inset day on Monday if anyone is still around then? [hopeful emoticon]

OP posts:
sfxmum · 18/02/2010 20:39

tilly we are still around Monday and Tuesday, hopefully dh will take a day off on Tue as working ALL weekend, Mon is quite free until swim class at 3.45

slng/Kc I think you will probably like the place otherwise you can always blame me

and to add I like a place which volunteers boxes to take the rest of the food home without even being asked to do so

sfxmum · 18/02/2010 20:40

I mean the leftovers obviously

dustythedolphin · 18/02/2010 21:40

Am of your restuarant choices!

Will be in Carluccio's Richmond at 6-8pm on Sat 27 Febby if anyone fancies popping down to day hello

Hope you are all well

Am feeling a bit tired and emotional after blardy hard week at new jobby and a efy good friend's husband has gone missing presumed dead after falling off a boat in Skibbereen (he's a fisherman) - they've only been married 3 weeks

dustythedolphin · 18/02/2010 21:42
