Hi all, can't believe I have to start the new thread

Slng, lol @ ds2!

Sfx, sparkle sounds nice!

I'm having to bribe ds1 to leave the house atm, that can't be right surely

He had his nativity yesterday, all lines remembered though there was a bit of yawning during it

tillyfernackerpants · 31/01/2010 14:28

ah ok, sorry. I always hated group projects!

OP posts:
sfxmum · 31/01/2010 14:42

does it look likely that a snow shower is on the way? earlier I would have thought not but having been out and looking at the darkening skies am not so sure
slightly worried about dd&dh on the bike and he was not wearing a helmet

tilly have you been watching Glee?
am really enjoying it so wildly bonkers feel good stuff

can't wait for Caprica

btw am now reading this whihc I am really enjoying his first book made me laugh and cry in equal measure

tillyfernackerpants · 31/01/2010 15:54

sfx, I think it might rain, but BBC doesn't say its going to snow. Am sure they'll be fine.

Haven't started Glee yet, just getting True Blood out of the way. Lost final season also next week. I did give up on the last one but I might watch this series & see if they do manage to tie it all up (which I doubt)!

Hello!

Cycled to pub and back via playground and muddy paths along rivers.

BBC says light snow at 6pm.

sfx - online projects overrated. I suppose can't offload position to bossy-boots?

tilly - your copy of recipes still in my bag!

BTW would be happy to host half-term get-together, if anyone can make it this far! Can even lay on lunch ... Our record so far is 8 children between the ages of 6 years and 15 months, plus accompanying adults.

Teabread in oven. Pink panther on tv.

hello all

what did sushi say?

anyway spent morning at hairdressers and totally ignored online person but I will pas it on as I can't be arsed dealing with this
but I fear the preening behaviour will only get worst when he has full 'entitlement' to enlighten 3 women

hope everyone is well

SushiMummy · 01/02/2010 12:10

Nothing personal, honest.

Well, I posted to tell you that I had a lovely time on Sat and am sorry that some couldn't make it, then I realised I accidentally outed someone's real name in it.

sfxmum · 01/02/2010 12:31

I do that at least a couple of times a year

just checked my messages seriously hostile one from that person made a complaint why me? hey?

all my zen is gone now am so annoyed

slng · 01/02/2010 12:46

sfx - it's time to retaliate. Muster all offensive weapons and take aim. Ask him to use proper channel of complaints (this one usually drive people up the wall ) and stop resorting to whinging which is the action of the weak. "Mummy can't understand that voice. Use your proper voice." Is it project "co-ordinator" or "leader"? There is a fine difference between the two.

Am reading a document by a student. Might go shoot myself after I've eaten my nice lunch.

sfxmum · 01/02/2010 13:00

that is the thing slng it is just co ordinator and he got back to me with 'storming norming bla bla' fight for roles bla bla muck sandwich bla bla
and how I am not doing it properly Belbin bla bla, he must be a joy to work for

coordinating a group of peers, for 2 weeks to come up with a report does not, in my view, entail praising them and furnishing them with links to article for self improvement utter IDIOT

  • I passed on the role but complained about his tone particularly on his last message on an open forum it was very unpleasant
I am sure he will count this as a victory but life is too short I really need to finish essay but am too rattled why did I allow myself to get annoyed? silly me

commiseration on student

dustythedolphin · 01/02/2010 13:51

Hello Chicks

How is it going - have I missed anything?

Its freezing here today - loads of black ice on the roads this morning

Brrrrrrrrrrrrr!

slng · 01/02/2010 17:04

Hello Dusty!

at being called chick. You missed our night out! Pretty cold here too. A dusting of snow this morning but all gone now. How is house and job and everything? We are due an essay on the topic, you know.

sfxmum · 01/02/2010 19:31

wave to dusty and yes a full long post is needed

apparently dd's school has a school song how quaint
she was singing it today on the bus

sfxmum · 02/02/2010 11:21

where is my motivation? has anybody seen it?

slng · 02/02/2010 12:21

I get mine from Lidl. Buy one get one free. They are not very good and last only a short while.

sfxmum · 02/02/2010 12:46

is German motivation better than average in its short bursts?

vbus · 02/02/2010 13:24

hello all

I get my motivation via chocolate. I'm sat here tucking into some pretty snooty chocs

Nice to see some of you at wkend, it was a fun night.
Tilly - how are you and DS2 now?
PCw - hope you're feeling better too

Sfx - what an annoying git. I'm sure you'll find a way to put him in his place, meanwhile don't let him get under your skin

Dusty - hello Chick to you too

IL's just left, we're all exhausted as we crammed a lot in but it was relatively stress free

slng · 02/02/2010 13:25

Seriously doubt it since I'm on here.

Am about to try Japanese version in the form of mackerel in miso leftover from yesterday's kids' dinner.

SushiMummy · 02/02/2010 13:58

hello all!

sfx - he sounds right PITA!

slng - mackerel in miso is my fave! Make sure you get fresh mackerel and put plenty of ginger otherwise it might get too fishy in taste. Yum!

tillyfernackerpants · 02/02/2010 14:06

sfx, maybe I have your motivation? Seem to have had a burst of inspiration with latest essay!

vbus, we seem to be better now thanks, at least sleep is back on the agenda! No sign of the tooth so am wondering if its a pesky molar!

Has anyone had a playdate yet without a parent being there? Ds1 has a school friend coming over next week & the mum asked what time to come & pick her up. I don't mind but she seems to be the first/only one to not come along! Are the rest of us being overprotective?!

OP posts:
sfxmum · 02/02/2010 14:29

tilly about playdates

dd goes to neighbours flat without me but I don't really think it is the same thing as I am just 2 floors down

she has just been invited for lunch and movie to celebrate friends birthday but I had feeling very nervous about it, not that I don't trust the parents more that I am a huge mother hen

their girl has been here by herself on a couple of occasions

tillyfernackerpants · 02/02/2010 14:31

sfx, fair enough, I think I'm a mother hen also. I know that the playdate is going to be reciprocated {sp?), not sure if I'm ready to let go yet!!

OP posts:
sfxmum · 02/02/2010 14:32

and thanks for moral support regarding PITA
I handed over the role and he is now giving a full display of 'how to do the job properly'
he thanked me for it I retrained myself from saying - my pleasure I can see how it full fills you and it is a wonderful showcase for your many skills experience and knowledge

slng · 02/02/2010 17:54

sushi - DSs love mackerel, and with the salty miso the whole meal's done in 10 minutes. You don't see this dish very often on restaurant menus, do you? Is it more of a homely dish? Very yummy though.

sfx - go on, tell him you look forward to learning so much from him.

DS2 had swine flu jab this afternoon ...

sfxmum · 02/02/2010 18:34

no I will play nice until the tutorial when I can say what I want in a group with a smile
in the meantime I have work to be getting on with
still need to finish essay most of the extra stuff is done but am thinking I took the wrong approach so am planning a re write tonight
then bed
then birthday

dd & dh are currently mixing a cake for my breakfast
