hello all

hope everyone is well or improving

left dd at school looking miserable and tired coughing her way through her card making

desperate request for neighbours I need a shoe box for today to decorate and fill, do any of you (KC/ Sushi/ Dolphin) have a spare that I can pick up later?

it is a charity thing, completely off my mind last week, thought we had missed the deadline but apparently still ok to hand in tomorrow morning, just before they get picked up, dd really wants to do it

many thanks (fingers crossed)

We missed the deadline too SFX

We miss the deadline every year ...

dustythedolphin · 01/12/2009 14:04

No tell a lie, we did manage to fill them and get them on in time last year

sfxmum · 01/12/2009 14:08

take it you don't have a spare shoe box?

might have to pop to next and ask if they have any spare, our deadline is tomorrow morning

Hello all

Seemed to have crammed loads into past 24hrs on top of usual household duties, 4am wake up call didn't help , been on impromptue playdate, even went for a swim last night, been to supermarket this morning, and have begged/borrowed/bought (thankfully not had to steal!) all the bits I need to make costume tonight, exhausted.

DH's best friend was in Basra and was stationed at Saddam's palace at one point, some of his experiences & stories were unreal, quite scary. His wife just presumed he wasn't coming back it was the only way she could deal with him being at war. Thankfully he was fine but one of his regiment did not make it back, so for their families

SushiMummy · 01/12/2009 15:05

v quick one (hello everyone!) for sfx

yes i have some spare shoe boxes at home (kids and adults), I'll be back home around 5 today if you want to pick them up.

sfxmum · 01/12/2009 15:34

thanks sushi
I sort of improvised something but an adult shoe box would be great
snag is DH would have to be home before I can pop out no way will dd leave the house today

and btw regarding the card request I asked at schoool and there is no other child in Reception class by that name apart from the Portuguese one and she is not the one you mean.
maybe another school? class?

sfx - many thanks for asking about the girl at school. We have two more birthday parties this months and I'm sure the said girl is invited to those. I'll give the card to her then. As for the shoe boxes, I might go to M&S at KRP this evening, maybe I can drop the boxes at yours.

SushiMummy · 01/12/2009 15:48

sfx - I'm leaving soon, so if you text me when I can drop the shoe box...

slng · 01/12/2009 18:09

sfx - we have shoeboxes but probably too far for you!

Have two kids pretending to be asleep on the sofa. The best kind of game!

sfxmum · 01/12/2009 18:22

how did you manage that slng?
thanks re shoe box decided to go with improvised one
thanks slng&sushi

dd nearly done with dinner am hungry now but she really needs early bed

hope to find the will to study

sfx - sometimes miracles do happen. Didn't last long though. Whenever DS2 pretends to sleep nobody else gets any.

dustythedolphin · 02/12/2009 10:15

Mornin all

TheWorldFamousKewcumber · 02/12/2009 11:21

shouldn't that be "top 'o the mornin' to ya"

(no racial stereotyping here, no siree)

TheWorldFamousKewcumber · 02/12/2009 11:21

just a reminder to the richmond borough primary starting Sept 10 - application have to be received by Friday.

sfxmum · 02/12/2009 12:44

hello all

very exciting for 2010 intake, so many here

KC, or anyone else nearby, do you want to go to school Christmas fayre? it is Friday 11th 5-7pm am getting tickets tomorrow

dd still not sleeping well and is consequently very tired and cranky am just trying to make sure bedtime is reasonably early.

hope everyone is well

...oh..pissing down...must be school run time...

dustythedolphin · 02/12/2009 15:28

No not yet SFX am waiting for police check that's the only thing holding it up atm

Kew - you cheeky fecker

Steps we just got SOAKED in the rain

vbus · 02/12/2009 16:35

wet wet wet indeed, yuk

Dusty do you know when that will be done? Hope it's soon

Sfx - sympathies. DS2 still suffering with cough/cold and keeps waking himself up at night for hrs

DS1 had a full day, went to see a panto at school this morning, followed by playground and then back to nursery this afternoon.

I am making a ginormous curry, all that can be desired in this miserable weather

stepfordwife · 02/12/2009 16:36

i know, dusty, dire, isn't it?
am i destined to have frizzy hair forever?!
did cleaner pitch up?

stepfordwife · 02/12/2009 16:39

oohhh, x-posts, vbus.
curry sounds yum...wish i was staying in eating curry.
am going out for drinks with dd's class parents.....my friend is class rep and is escorting calling for me, to make sure i go and it is my local...so sure i'll rally when i've got a glass of chilled white in my hand

stepfordwife · 02/12/2009 16:40

..apologies, vbus, meant to say wish i was staying in eating your curry...

stepfordwife · 02/12/2009 16:44

..oh think i've missed the friggin' shoebox deadline thing, too...
believe it or not, used to like christmas before kids started school....
yes, yes, know should give myself a pep talk about mthe "spirit" and the "taking part", but, flippin' heck, i'd rather write the school a cheque instead of making/buying cakes/helping making tut at making day/purchasing aforementioned tut which is exactly like last year's tat/getting stuck on three stalls at christmas fair and why is it always me no-one turns up to relieve..oh, and by the way, am trying to work, too, and do my own stuff...

stepfordwife · 02/12/2009 16:46

ho ho ho

sfxmum · 02/12/2009 16:56

oh lovely plenty of festive cheer about

vbus it is horrid and I can't sleep through it at all - curry sounds great am doing cottage pie

steppie am not doing stalls just baking something and showing up for the play and Fayre (their spelling)

shoe box dully sent and saw quite a few others with their too
managed to avoid drinks with parents and this time had genuine deadline

dd is getting a new teacher in the new year but she will only be part time, the current one remains, we will meet her next week
