dustythedolphin · 19/11/2009 18:14

sfxmum · 19/11/2009 18:19

hey dolphin all good except I want to cause dh serious injury, no idea why that man has a phone, what is the bleeding point if he never uses it when it counts

OP posts:
pcworld · 19/11/2009 19:36

SFX - LOL re: lie-in!! I had to get up at 6.30 as usual in order to get showered/ready/packed lunch/dd homework etc ... BUT yes, I DID enjoy the lie-in in the sense that the house was a LOT calmer ds is such a lovely, perfect boy (of course but boy is he full-on. dh is out tonight and so, sadly, I have had to break my "week off the booze" pledge and am now enjoying a small large glass of merlot. Just wish I had a banana muffin with which to wash it down Good luck with the parents' evening, we had ours (except it was in the afternoon on Monday and it was fine.

Sing - how are you doing this week? Have you some time off work over Christmas?

pcworld · 19/11/2009 19:42

Oh dear, the bracket thing went slightly wrong there, lol!

To all studious types who have handed in essays - well done!

Dusty - so what's happening, what's the latest - any breaking news? Hope all is ok.

slng · 19/11/2009 21:13

sfx - what's dh done?

Now to the washing up - breakfast, lunch, (no kids' tea thankfully) and tea and baking stuff to wash.

slng · 19/11/2009 21:15

Posting link to BIL's band on FB!

sfxmum · 19/11/2009 21:44

KEWCUMBER look here
the Telegraph has opinions about you
''Is there any evidence that au pairs are more liable to kill your child than a nanny?? interjects Kewcumber (Kew is a haven of under-employed City wives). ?My CM has no childcare qualification. 18-year-olds in the lcoal nursery have but I know who I?d trust more with my child. Plenty of cleaners have degrees ? what?s relevant is how good they are at their job not whether they have any qualification.? LOL

slng just once again neglected to tell me when he would show up and had his phone off so no bloody dinner on the table

OP posts:
sfxmum · 19/11/2009 21:47

actually he is rather lovely but head off somewhere all the time horrible timekeeper
drives me nuts

he actually got up at 5.30 am did whatever he does and had a dentist appointment at 8am which he managed to be late for and would have been later or missed it if I had not pointed out to him that it was 2 minutes to 8.

  • really how did that happen?-

yes how indeed

OP posts:
Kewcumber · 19/11/2009 22:32

yes I saw it (and have responded) oh how I aspire to being an underemployed City wife!

slng · 20/11/2009 08:12

Saw that now - wish I was underemployed. What a twat the so-called journalist is. Anyhow, must dash and mop the floor instead of being online. (In RL will not be caught dead mopping the floor. That's what cotton-wearing children are for.)

dustythedolphin · 20/11/2009 10:24

lol Slng!

sfxmum · 20/11/2009 11:00

vbus · 20/11/2009 13:26

Hello all

Just about caught up on thread. LOl- Slng and KC, I saw your claim to fame last night, lol

Sfx - well done on essay

pCW - lie-in sign of things to come?

Have my parents here all week so it has been pretty hectic. Great having the extra help in the day time but ds2 is having teething/cold/cough nightmare and has been awake a few hrs every night, I'm so exhausted, can't rest in the day as he is not napping in cot or anywhere else for that matter But still, made it to the gym yesterday for 1st time in about 18mths, I enjoyed the steam room best And going out for posh dinner tonight with DH for our birthdays

Hope everyone well

dustythedolphin · 20/11/2009 13:45

SFX - chances are about -5%

Vbus - am of posh dinner tonight, enjoy!

PC - I think I have decided to take the job with more pay/perm-contract/closer/flexible working, but in my heart still wanting to do other job offer.

I rang the woman at the lower paid job today to tell her I have had an alternative offer. She got VERY heavy with me, implying I had been dishonest and generally made me feel like a piece of poo, to the point she had me in tears. She calmed down a bit after that and said she agreed I need to do what is best for my family, as well as what I want. Perhaps I have had a lucky escape after all

slng · 20/11/2009 15:04

vbus - we are going out for posh meal tomorrow evening!

dusty - does sound like a lucky escape!

Now must try to book some christmassy play thingy.

sfxmum · 20/11/2009 18:12

vbus and slng hope both have a great time

am getting concerned about what this marketing means first the country lady catalogue now being bombarded with skiing related stuff

dear mrs sfx you will now be planning for your skiing season

OP posts:
sfxmum · 20/11/2009 18:13

dolphin meant to say sounds like lucky escape over emotional managers are never a good sign
good luck

OP posts:
slng · 20/11/2009 19:45

sfx - at marketing stuff. Do you know how they got hold of your details? We used to know that Greenflag was giving out my details because my name was spelt wrong all the same way.

Did caramel popcorn for guests. Product a success but process a catastrophe. Popcorn everywhere ...

slng · 21/11/2009 10:22

Good morning!

Have house all to myself and what do I do? Drink tea, MN, watch telly. Bliss.
