hello

slng I have seen quite a few trees with huge branches blown off

we had a very busy weekend am completely exhausted and did not have a minute to myself
now eating chocolate truffles and drinking wine

I really need to run next week, and it is essay due weekhow to keep sane?

Kewcumber · 15/11/2009 22:50

There's a huge branch (I mean seriously bloody enormous!) which fell off the tree outside my sisters house which missed their new (2 weeks old!) Porsche by about 2 inches! Would it be very very naughty of me to admit that if it has stoved the roof in I would have found it a teensy weensy little bit amusing

sfxmum · 16/11/2009 09:16

saw that one yesterday Kew was walking over to catch bus to Kingston we paused to admire the power of the wind

good morning all

lol Kew - have just e-mailed you

There was a whoppa pile of branches outside the school, annoyingly obstructing two precious parking spaces!

slng · 16/11/2009 18:22

Kew - you bad bad person.

dustythedolphin · 16/11/2009 21:09

SFX can you recommend any running shoes? My MBTs no good for running and I think if i have comfy shoes I can do something

sfxmum · 16/11/2009 21:23

Dusty get yourself to Up and Running shop in Sheen, past lovely Italian deli, and get fitted they make you run in treadmill analyse gait and make you try different shoes they will not make you buy the most expensive ones only the right ones for you
if you think they are too expensive let me know and I will give you link to online shop where you can find most things cheaper

BUT get proper socks they are essential

Thanks SFX - excellent advice - will try and get there soonish xxx

'Tis very quiet on here!

slng · 17/11/2009 19:02

Haven't posted much last two days because all I can say is either "shouted at kids again" or "I'm sooooooo tired ...".

DS1 asked if I would be less tired if I didn't have to go to work .

sfxmum · 17/11/2009 20:14

slng maybe it is a phase or time to change jobs

stressful day for us here nothing major but a succession of things over the day
am finally about to sit down and try to write an essay plan the thing is due on Thursday
really not in the mood would rather go to bed

might have to raid chocolate stash

tillyfernackerpants · 17/11/2009 20:25

sfx, good luck with the essay. I'm struggling with one as well, tutor not much help as she isn't returning phone calls or emails

slng, can you get a day to yourself? Maybe call in sick one day at work, stay at home with crappy films & comfort food.

Pcw, sorry we didn't get to meet yesterday, but I'll be there next week as well

Am v pleased with myself, have lost my first half stone

sfxmum · 17/11/2009 20:45

hey Tilly well done

speaking of losing weight am looking to unload size 16 jackets and trousers, mostly jeans but also others

back to essay, my tutor seems to have vanished too not that I would ask her anything really would have to be desperate

OP posts:
slng · 18/11/2009 10:34

Hello!

I don't want to change job. I like my job very much. But really can't take time off. Perhaps I should outsource the kids.

sfx/tilly - perhaps tutors off having a nervous breakdown.

sfxmum · 18/11/2009 10:50

good morning all
(am obviously writing essay)

slng I think we all go through periods like that, don't think parenting is easy I think is the 'ME' being slightly drowned at times when we can't quite manage to stay afloat
(sfx paddles furiously and dreams of desert island)

have playdate this afternoon best hoover and mop floor before pick up

hope everyone is well

sfx was your plumber any good who fixed your boiler. My is bust but I think it only needs a minor repair

sfxmum · 18/11/2009 14:56

kewcumber I used my plumber
reliable and friendly slng used them too

OP posts:
dustythedolphin · 18/11/2009 15:29

Kew, we have a good plumber who replaced our boiler last year. he is working in Teddington atm so could pop over to you if you need one?

My cleaner says she is going to yours next week

Did you get my e-mail?

Hope everyone else is OK

Kewcumber · 18/11/2009 16:05

yes am currently just using her to top up to try to get the mess under control maybe if she works out she can take over from current cleaner.

Will try sfx's plumber first.

Thanks

YEs got email would consider it normally but house is such a tip and spare room being used for junk and can;t face clearing out!

slng · 18/11/2009 18:09

Having cleaner is good, but not enough. Need factotum to washup/cleanup/do laundry etc every evening at about 6.20pm. Anyone volunteering?

Dusty - can I have boiler man detail? My plumber is good but need second opinion on strangely behaving boiler.

dustythedolphin · 18/11/2009 18:50

Slng yes will try and send you his details tomoz - have u got my moby number?

Kew she is very good at tidying and does 3 hrs cleaning 1 hr tidying up for us, to keep me sane

Kewcumber · 18/11/2009 21:04

now not only boiler not working but TV Kaput too - I think the aerial may have blown over or disconnected in some way.

May have to read a book

sfxmum · 18/11/2009 21:18

you don't fancy finishing my essay for me do you? it is very distracting and entertaining like
sfx closes window and goes back to being dutiful

We have had TV and internet connection problems too. It is 7.50am and ds is still fast asleep - this is the boy who is normally up at 6am every morning. We'll be late for school at this point - homework is done, packed lunch is made, I am organised!

slng · 19/11/2009 08:04

Breakfast done by 7.45, DS1 on school dinner this week so no packed lunch to do. All I have to do now is to fix the laundry basket and the boiler and my glasses, collect new car seat, source a small plastic Christmas tree that is not too small and not too big, buy cakes for cake sale tomorrow (no I'm not making them. What do you think I am? Though we do have a nice loaf of Tropicana banana cake sitting in the cake box but that's not for the hoi poloi, charity or otherwise. Ha!) and buy stuff for tea tonight. Then I can go to work...

By the way how do you make sweet popcorn? Do you pop the corn and then ... what??

dustythedolphin · 19/11/2009 09:18

Slng e-mailed you the phone number for plumber last night. He is in Tewddington this week so may be able to pop over to you
