Hello everyone!

vbus - so sorry to hear about your uncle.

KC - It was lovely to see you yesterday!

mygreatauntgriselda · 19/10/2009 12:57

SFX any luck with the plumbing yet?

'Tis nice and warm here if you feel you are starting to pong . Fell for your DH having a cold shower in this weather - 'tis deffo Autumn-like now

Am attending Q&A session this evening with David Cameron at a local school. have a couple of questions about Child Protection and sentencing for him. ts nearly a year since he raised the case of Baby Peter at Prime minister's question time and there are more child deaths per. week than there were at that point in time

Saw Xoxo this morning for a cuppa with her gorgeous DD2, who my DS2 flirted with no end. She has started a faby new business

mygreatauntgriselda · 19/10/2009 12:58

"feel for your DH", not "fell for"

vbus · 19/10/2009 13:24

Hello all

Auntie - LOL!

Sfx - bummer about boiler, we lasted 10days without hot water, kettle came in v.handy. Hope yours gets fixed sooner than that, otherwise what will Geoffrey think?

Slng - can you send me the link please?

PCW - nice to see you on Fri, thanks for your support, hope you enjoyed the curry

KC - shame about your mum's attitude and that you didn't go for meal. Had I logged on at wkend I would've invited you round here. I cooked a feast and DS1 enjoyed lighting the Diwali candle.

As it was we did v.little at wkend as we were knackered, DH due to jetlag and I had crap sleep due to the dc. DS1 awake 1am-7am on Fri night and DS2 awake several times Sat night, must be on growth spurt. Last night only 1 wake up each, pretty good by recent standards I'm going for snooze now.

vbus · 19/10/2009 13:25

Auntie - meant to add good luck for Q&A session

sfxmum · 19/10/2009 13:51

sushi - how are things at nursery now?

auntie will tell him he has an admirer LOL
about Cameron I would like to ask about schools, taxes for parents, and voluntary sector funding oh and regulatory and inspections systems both in schools and care homes

vbus sounds pretty rough goodness hope it was a one off and ds2 settles a bit more too

boiler just fixed he did mention parts that should probably be replaced sooner rather than later but said we could wait and see
decided to wait and see as parts would have to be ordered anyway but he took a list of what was needed
I found it hard paying attention to him as dd goes on overdrive and keeps talking over us and demanding things, he left with payment and without leaving a receipt - bugger

btw Geoffrey pics on FB

Hello!

Had a good runabout at Northala fields after school - figured that if it's going to rain everyday this week we might as well make full use of this one and only non-raining day. Very nice afternoon though. Sun shining. But freezing ...

sfx - for some reason I thought Geoff was a bear. We have a miniGeoff who looks just like Geoff but smaller who sleeps on either DS2's bed or the floor.

LOL at auntie. Hope no such gaffs with Dave. Dave is big on policies but reticent on exactly how anything is going to be done. Won't trust him as far as I can throw him. And you can quote me on this.
And that losing the bike business is perhaps reflective of the man's intelligence. That's the level I would bring the discussion down to if I were there.

vbus - at sleep shenanigans of DC! Hope it gets better soon. Sending link now.

sfxmum · 20/10/2009 10:45

morning all

where are the newbies?

vbus hope night was better

auntie tell all please

just been helping out at school, very different from my day good grief was all so alien
main thing was it seemed very organised and the children looked happy

eastendmummy · 20/10/2009 11:05

Morning all. Sorry haven't been on here for a few days, I've been up north visiting parents so little time for mn. Am at home today without ds as he's at the childmnder which is fortunate as I've been really sick this am. Prob preg related but nausea passed weeks ago so I'm a little confused! Dh's work has calmed slightly and he's off next week so we're going on a roadtrip to catch up with friends in the west country and Wales.

Vbus - hope you had a better night last night
sfxmum - good news on the fixed boiler

I do hope I get to meet you all in real life soon!

sfxmum · 20/10/2009 11:19

eastend nice to see you around, sorry about the sickness how far along are you?
the road trip sounds great love the West country, still to visit Wales

just thought about the Half term meet up
how is everyone feeling about that?

OP posts:
eastendmummy · 20/10/2009 11:26

I'm 15 weeks and was feeling great until last night. It seems to have passed now so hopefully just a blip. Wales is amazing and so beautiful, i'd definitely recommend a trip there. Is next week half term? I'll miss yet another meet up if it is! I'm going to little souls tomorrow tgoufh if anyone else is?

sfxmum · 20/10/2009 11:37

well eastendmummy congratulations
I always wanted to go to visit Pembrokeshire, big fan of the sea me

yes next week it is half term but I think we need to book an evening meet up again for Christmas

nearly school run time again best get on before the rain starts

OP posts:
pcworld · 20/10/2009 11:41

Are we doing Weds for the half-term meet? Hope so, am really looking forward to it. Wonder what the weather will be doing.

Land of no sleep here, it is painful.

Lunchtime job along with making fish pie is sorting out the toy storage, things are a bit crazy here

Eastend, I don't think we are free tomorrow morning which is a shame as Little Souls is brilliant.

SFX, great that you are able to help out in school, it is good to get involved I think. Hope your boiler is fixed, these things always seem to go just when it is really cold!

LotusPalm · 20/10/2009 12:13

Hello Ladies,

I'm new here and just wanted to pop on and say hello. It's all a little MN Anonymous but here goes:

Hi, My names LP and i'm 12 weeks pregnant. I live in Old Isleworth with DH, 2 lovely dogs and the growing incumbent. We've lived here for a few years but i dont really know anyone from the area...

I'm sure i'll have about a million questions about child-related things in the area soon enough, but just wanted to introduce myself for now

sfxmum · 20/10/2009 12:53

Hi Lotus welcome there are a few of us near you, and MN is a sanity saving fountain of knowledge and support for new mothers IMHO
I am in Kew and have a 4yr old dd

pcW sorry about the rubbish sleep
am really looking forward to meet up hopefully Wednesday maybe we can mobilise Lollipop?

OP posts:
tillyfernackerpants · 20/10/2009 13:04

Am looking forward to half-term full stop! Think Lollipop closes during the school holidays, will have to check.

Hi Lotus, congratulations . I live in Brentford and have a 3.5yr old & a 10m (both boys)

Eastendmummy, whereabouts in the north were you? That's where I'm from & my family are still up there so we're often travelling back and forth! Shame you can't do the half-term meet but maybe the xmas one?

If there's enough of us, I like Auntie's suggestion!

sfxmum · 20/10/2009 13:18

Forgot about Lollipop closing, am thinking we need to consider indoors options

OP posts:
pcworld · 20/10/2009 14:01

How many of us are coming along next Weds? Will have at think re: venue.

Hello Lotus

Just having a cuppa post-assembling some hideous flat pack furniture (toy storage!)

Kewcumber · 20/10/2009 14:17

Hi Lotus - I used to live in Isleworth near the station. Really liked living there, in Kew now with a nearly 4 yr old DS.

I think my childminders playgoup is open at half term - little stars in Burlington tennis club. I'll check.

Kewcumber · 20/10/2009 14:25

Playgroup here behind tennis courts you can see on the map (parking ususally available on the road, I'll check if they are open.maps.google.co.uk/maps/ms?hl=en&ie=UTF8&msa=0&msid=114517835507965329256.00046c115fc1a6d460af2&ll=51 .483254,-0.264809&spn=0.004316,0.011823&t=h&z=16

vbus · 20/10/2009 14:58

Hello all

Congrats Lotus and Eastend, v.exciting times for you both

Sfx - were you helping in DD's class? Glad it went well. You can come to Wales with me next mth for DS1 birthday if you like! Although Nov tends to be v.soggy

PCW - good luck with the assembly

Looking fwd to weds meet up, happy to try KC's suggestion

Slng - ta for link, sorry just not had chance to watch yet!

Well Ds1 did sleep through last night but DS2 awake 3 times, cannot tell if it's teething or what, still guess work 2nd time round

tillyfernackerpants · 20/10/2009 16:18

vbus, glad ds1 had a better night. Ds1 has had restless nights as well, always seeming to end up in our bed, with my parents here as well that's meant that me or dh have ended up on the sofa . Anyway, from what I've heard its still guesswork when its 3rd, 4th or even 5th!

I've been to the little stars before, was nice plus a separate area for babies

vbus · 20/10/2009 16:39

Tilly - sorry that you've been pushed out onto sofa! I think it will take a while for DS1 to adjust to new nursery, no settling in issues, just that he finds it all soooo exciting. Anyway will find out soon what he's been up to as we have parents evening soon.

We do have tom off nursery so may take the Dc swimming.

Tilly - what time do you go to toy lib on Fri? DS1 has an assembly Fri morning which means we have the afternoon free so could join you depending on timing and DC's tiredness factor.

slng · 20/10/2009 16:55

Hello!

Sooooo tired .... >

tillyfernackerpants · 20/10/2009 18:17

vbus, toy library is closed this week, but it will be open during half-term if you fancy going then?
