Sorry EE can't help...

SFX well done on course work - a productive weekend all round

Vbus - I didn't run until yesterday, when SFX very kindly mentored me on my first run. I did about 2.5 miles I think and I can barely walk today lol . Must've done some good!

Thanks SFX for being so supportive yesterday

pcworld · 12/10/2009 14:57

Hi, hope all are well. Sorry for not making it out on Saturday, had a bad day

Sounds as though you had a great time!

Vbus, hope all is going well flying solo.

Having a bit of a clear-out here, chipping away at all the paperwork etc ... yawn! Have made a quorn shepherds pie with root veg mash, hope it goes down alright with the dcs! Will try vbus's squash curry tomorrow.

sfxmum · 12/10/2009 15:04

hi all

we decided against Kew due to tiredness and grumpiness of child but am seriously regretting it now

PcW - another day, hope things are better, we all have days like that

auntie I have ulterior motives you know

vbus hope week goes well

think will push on regardless tomorrow and go to Kew, being cooped up not good for my head start getting too snappy
might even take dd for a spin now before the shop arrives

We had a friend over today after school, lots of fun!

Sfx, we might go to Kew tomorrow, will text you if we do

Auntie, well done on the run.

slng · 12/10/2009 19:38

Hello!

DS1 not so much grumpy as just ignoring everything I said. So I ignored him for 20 minutes and he didn't like it ... Promises to be "good" tomorrow .

Made oatcakes, half of which already eaten by ravenous minibeasts.

Tired now. Is it my turn to be grumpy yet? Luckily leftover Thai green curry for tea.

vbus · 12/10/2009 20:22

Eastend - see my post about alterations, there was recommendation but I ended up using Hampton Wick dry cleaners who were excellent. Hope DH made it up to you for working over wkend

Auntie - well done on run, I hope the aches ease up tom

PCW - pie sounds nice, I haven't eaten quorn for yrs just because of DS1 allergies, keep meaning to buy some

Slng - funny how the DC develop selective hearing. If I'm ignored I mention that I'm going to switch tv off/put toys away etc that soon gets DS1's attention

Sfx - For half term meet, can I venture we meet on the Monday? I have to plan a trip to Cambridge that week too and I don't want to do them back to back. Is that ok for everyone?

Xmas meet sounds great too. It is early to plan but before we know it, it will be Dec and everywhere/everyone will be booked up!

sfxmum · 12/10/2009 20:42

vbus am ok with Monday how does everyone else feel?

about Christmas we probably should book something for early December and get it over with

Tilly I will be going after school (12pm)
so do let me know

auntie it will be fine in a couple of days, hurts less the second time around just don't increase mileage too quickly

must run a bit tomorrow morning and unfortunately must include some road running since a great part of the path is blocked - most annoying

OP posts:
pcworld · 12/10/2009 22:05

Ah, shame, we can't make the Monday of half-term week as already have plans. Boo!

Pie was v nice, ds was in another food throwing mood anyway which meant more for us!

tillyfernackerpants · 13/10/2009 06:23

Monday of half term good with me

Re Xmas Auntie mentioned somewhere. A hotel in Richmond I think where we can hire an upstairs room for no charge.

Sfx, will let you know re Kew. Good luck with run, boo to road running!

mygreatauntgriselda · 13/10/2009 08:37

Tilly thanks for reminding me what I said when I was tipsy - we can hire the Kew Gardens Hotel upstairs mezzanine level for nowt, if its available. They do the bEST CHIPS on planet earth

vbus · 13/10/2009 09:41

PCW - could you do half term meet on Weds instead? I can see if I can go to Cambridge on the Monday then

Hotel room & chips yay!

pcworld · 13/10/2009 11:30

Vbus, see how it goes - I would love to meet but equally don't want you to put yourself out for me!

Christmas meet sounds good

Had a nice coffee with Tilly earlier before ds told me in no uncertain terms that he had had enough and wanted some freedom! So we are now at home playing with every single toy in the house complete happiness reigns

mygreatauntgriselda · 13/10/2009 13:33

I can do Weds

sfxmum · 13/10/2009 16:10

Wednesday works for me too plans will be fairly loose that week anyway

glorious day so glad we went to Kew
nice to catch up with Tilly and DS1&2
it took us an hour to reach home after we left you lots of pictures taken along the way

I will be helping at school next week quite looking forward to it

Christmas do sounds nice lets pull those crackers

mygreatauntgriselda · 13/10/2009 16:58

SFX I used to love helping with the reading at the DCs school - can't do it now with DS2 in tow though.

BTW still have sore hips lol

tillyfernackerpants · 13/10/2009 17:17

PCW, nice to catch up with you! Can't blame ds really, it is a bit boring for them , glad he was happy again! Did you walk home?

Sfx, nice to see you & dd earlier as well. Did dd get her chocolate lollipops?! We popped into C&C on the way out, not too busy & ds1 didn't kick up a fuss at leaving after 20mins!

Weds fine for us over half-term

And yes, lets try the Kew Hotel for xmas do. Auntie, is there a minimum number do you know?

slng · 13/10/2009 19:50

Hello!

We might be able to do Wednesday half-term. Still have work but might be able to do it ...

Christmas do sounds good.

PC - LOL at DS. Sometimes enough is enough. And there is nothing quite like making your own house a tip so that every step your parents take is fraught with unforeseen danger.

Auntie - I cycled 10.5miles one weekend and had sore bottom for 3 days...

We never get asked to help at school. What do you help with? Not that I would anyway .

sfxmum · 13/10/2009 20:00

auntie it should feel better soon but hip soreness tends to be about shoe issues, it is high impact sport so proper supportive shoes for your feet/ gait makes a huge difference

slng help with reading general classroom activities and admin

pcW he clearly knows what he needs and that is a good thing

Help! Have again posted in bilingual thread due to being too annoyed...

sfx - beautiful pictures on FB. Might venture there soon before all the leaves dropped.

sfxmum · 14/10/2009 13:32

slng that never ends well - step away

hello all hope everyone is well

dh took dd to school, wish he had told me yesterday I would have stayed in bed

OP posts:
slng · 14/10/2009 13:45

Hello!

sfx - I know but I must register my objection.

More work till 3 and then truckloads of cookies to be baked.

pcworld · 14/10/2009 14:05

Well, Sing, hopefully you felt better by getting it out of your system?

Had a fabulous morning at Bushy Park with ds checking out the ducks and the autumn leaves, managed to squeeze in a lovely cup of coffee too in the swanky new cafe

slng · 14/10/2009 18:22

PCW - not sure if it works like that ...

I have worked 6 hours, baked 2 loaves of bread and 72 cookies, cooked dinner for whole family for today and tomorrow, and averted a miniwar with minimal shouting. I feel strongly that I should get a medal of some sort.

vbus · 14/10/2009 20:05

Slng - you deserve some wine at least

PCW - the cafe is fab, we went by there last week and may go again tom

So far it has been a trying week, DS1 has now started having daily meltdowns, and wee accidents the past few days (thankfully just at home), plus more night wakings. I'm waiting for child to spontaneously combust.

Sad news my uncle died yesterday. My mum is devastated, I feel for her. She was going to Inida on Friday for hols and was planning to see her brother then but sadly he passed away before she got chance
