Hello all

Welcome Sandy and congrats on new arrival I'm in Teddington and have 2 boys (nearly 4 and 10mth old). We are having a night out this Saturday, why don't you come along and meet us? There are various day time meet ups too if you can't make that.

Sfx - LOL @ noisy blurs, good way to describe the LO's Who are you registered with? Do you get a refund with all the downtime?

Wet, boring day indeed

Didn anyone watch Flash Forward alst wk? I completely forgot it was on and forgot to watch it (baby brain), wondering whether to watch it tonight now that I've missed the 1st one?

slng · 05/10/2009 13:51

Hello all!

DS2 threw up in the morning - I'm thinking it's just too-much-cake rather than a bug since he didn't have any other symptoms, but just to let those at the party know so you can keep an eye on your LOs. I took him in to work. I don't know if the students were impressed - he fell off the chair, threw up a little, and then played with little fire engines under the table ... Asleep now. Me too.

Hello Sandy!

sfxmum · 05/10/2009 13:55

slng fingers crossed it is just cake

vbus I did watch it and will have a look at 2nd just download the first it is around.
have hopes it will be ok and will keep watching until they go all mystic and jump the shark

  • provider is Bunlimited I think dh seems to change them monthly

slng · 05/10/2009 14:05

Hopefully it is just cake. We did have two birthday parties in two days ... Now must hang out de-sick-ed laundry. And perhaps sneak in some work while the beast sleeps...

vbus · 05/10/2009 14:37

Slng - poor DS2, hope he gets well soon.

Sfx - might watch it if I don't fall asleep 1st!

Better get ready for pick up soon, always so much to do, not sure where to day goes

pcworld · 05/10/2009 15:03

Hello All - welcome, Sandy! Nice to see some new faces on here.

Hope everyone is well, sorry not to see some of you yesterday, we had a lunch meet-up in town with some of dh's uni friends - it was lovely but mega-hard with with ds! Still, always good to get out and about and definitely worth it to catch up with old pals.

What about the weather eh? Managed to get soaked this morning and have finally caved in and ordered the all-weather, warm (I hope!) hooded school-run coat! It happens to us all eventually

Am really looking forward to Sat night.

Sing, hope sickness bug goes soon.

Doing a veggie bake for tea, wonder how that will go down ...

Tilly - hope you are ok!! Sounds as though life is pretty exhausting for you at the moment.

Must dash - school run and I'm cutting it pretty fine eh?!?! See you all later!

tillyfernackerpants · 05/10/2009 15:18

Hi Sandy, nice to see you. I'm in Brentford with a 3.5yr old & nearly 10mo!

PCW, keep meaning to text you about coffee . Will definitely do so!

Slng, hope ds2 is ok. I'm sorry but I did lol at the thought of him in your lecture!

Sfx, well done on essay writing, am still procrastinating over mine

We got wet on the school run today too. When we got home I told ds1 to go & get changed, he came back down in his pjs and announced 'we're having a pj day mummy, go put yours on and Sean, you too'

sfxmum · 05/10/2009 15:27

tilly have only just sketched a start but thanks for the vote of confidence will try not to disappoint and btw you do have a lot going on so take it easy PJ day sounds about right

pvW sorry we missed you it does sound hard taking 2 to London especially whit escapologist in toe

on the subject of things that annoy me, entry 1005 - why is Robbie Williams making a come back?! please go away, he should not be encouraged to have a 'career'

OP posts:
vbus · 05/10/2009 16:57

Tilly - LOL at PJ day, definitely the way fwd

PCW - glad you had good time despite it being hard going. Wedding was good fun too but it's sometimes hard to keep the LO's going esp when they're on parade

Sfx - DS1 heard the new Robbie song on the radio the other day and asked me what a 'summer tree' was and wanted to see one, hard to explain that one

vbus · 05/10/2009 16:58

seemed to have used the word 'hard' too much. Best get back to my squash curry...

slng · 05/10/2009 17:13

hello!

DS2 seems to have recovered. He's demanding chocolate milk, and having been denied that, he's demanding chocolate juice ... Anyway he can't go to nursery tomorrow so dh is taking a day off. Don't think he'd take kindly to being stuck in a lecture theatre twice in a week.

Squash curry. Yum! We are getting one (squash, not squash curry, unfortunately) tomorrow in our veg box.

mygreatauntgriselda · 05/10/2009 18:41

Slng we've had vom bug here hope its just too many cokkies for DS2 (they sound delicious BTW!!)

Sabdy welcome! (waves)

SFX hope you got some of your essay done - just think, you and DD will be able to do your homework together soon

Saw MrsRecycle on Saturday. She has relocated to THE MOST GORGEOUS village. Will put pics on FB when I get 5 minutes There is a teeny chance she may come to meet up on Saturday

pcworld · 05/10/2009 19:42

Oooh Auntie, can't wait to hear all the goss!

Vbus, glad to hear you had a wedding-tastic time. Squash curry - good idea - I have one sitting here and was merely going to use it for a pasta sauce plus baked potato filling. Curry seems a lot more exciting!

SandyL · 05/10/2009 22:31

Hi - thanks to all for the warm welcome :-)
We're heading down to my parents for the weekend so I wont be able to make the night out on Saturday - hopefully I'll be able to make the next meetup.

mygreatauntgriselda · 06/10/2009 07:27

Morning all

Was supposed to go for my normal swim this morning on the way to work but forgot one vital peice of equipment - no not my cozzie but my underwear

Means I have to wear cozzie all day under my top at big work meeting - thankfully it has underwired cups

sfxmum · 06/10/2009 10:57

yes auntie but isn't cozzie wet? will be worrying about you sprouting wet patches

wet wet wet relented and took dd in buggy am sure it is not the done thing but at least we were both relatively dry

not making much progress today but am quite cheerful, bright side and all that

vbus · 06/10/2009 13:54

Hello all

Auntie - Oops! You didn't fancy going commando then?

PCW/Slng - here is recipe. Dead easy to make, I have to switch the coconut milk for condensed milk for the DC but still really tasty

Sandy - maybe next time

House is a tip as had 5kids round this morning it was good fun though!

Absolutely boiling today, I wrapped up warm, coat + wellies and was a sweltering mess by the time I reached nursery, not such a good look

mygreatauntgriselda · 06/10/2009 14:11

at thought of middle aged Mum of 3 going commando!

No cozzie is dry as I didn't go in

Last time this happened I spent 20 minutes locked in disabled loo drying cozzie under hand drier but just couldn't be arsed today...

SandyL · 06/10/2009 16:08

Hi Vbus - that recipe looks great. Also found a yummy recipe for pork belly ... had the brainwave to buy some in the supermarket but dont have any recipies

sfxmum · 06/10/2009 17:51

sandy good luck with pork belly, impulse buys in that respect are quite good to try new recipes

I do a similar curry and the variation of using sweet potato, nice too

what a dreary day and apparently more rain to come tomorrow oh the joy

dh will be late and I have lots of work to do hope dinner bath and bed are fuss free

OP posts:
vbus · 06/10/2009 18:02

Sandy - will ask DH for his pork belly recipe. He rarely cooks so when he does, it is usually something that's hassle free

Sfx - fingers crossed bed time goes well. Might try it with sweet potato next time.

DH going to be late all week here, he's off to US at wkend so has to finish all work 1st. Back to Italy again tom. When we 1st met I was the jet setter, how times have changed !

slng · 06/10/2009 18:39

Hello!

Long day today at work while DH looked after kids. DS2 seems to have made a good recovery. Even went down the pub

vbus - curry looks nice. We got a table ace squash not butternut. But all squashes are the same. Aren't they? I want to make a sweet glutinous rice cake with pumpkin/squash fillings. Perhaps not right now though ...

Sandy - I usually just boil pork belly plainly, then slice and dip in sauces. Yum!

I have many colleagues who are jetsetters. Here today gone tomorrow. Not sure I want to do that any more. My idea of a good time is to sit on my bottom and do nothing these days.

sfxmum · 06/10/2009 18:57

I think after this looking after baby time I should have a brilliant time in my 40's and 50's should I have the energy for it

OP posts:
sfxmum · 06/10/2009 19:02

do you think there is any chance the Booker will be won by a man? would they dare?

OP posts:
slng · 06/10/2009 20:45

I didn't know booker was biased against men?
