OP posts:
tillyfernackerpants · 08/06/2009 14:40

no probs here Kew, hope ds is ok

Sfx, think recent expenses mess has a lot to do with it as well

sfxmum · 08/06/2009 16:33

and random thought of the day did not know the Netherlands played cricket

dd is still going around asking me to light candles singing a song then blowing them out

tilly it is still quite depressing it wasn't just in the UK

OP posts:
sfxmum · 08/06/2009 20:22

OP posts:
SushiMummy · 09/06/2009 08:06

Morning all.

KC - mine is OK so far. Hope Gherkin-kun recovers quickly.

Tube strike is on.

vbus · 09/06/2009 08:38

morning all

hideous weather

Sushi- how will you get to work or are you going to WFH?

Sfx - yes I saw email with TY playing, sounds intriguing

Had a lovely afternoon yesterday, got DS1 his 1st encyclopedia (inspired by miniPCW!), we read it for ages.

May take DS2 to a playgroup today, social for me to catch up with some friends!

vbus · 09/06/2009 08:39

How is Gherkin?

tillyfernackerpants · 09/06/2009 08:51

vbus, which enclyopedia did you get? I've been wanting to get ds1 one as well, he's got so many questions!

Kew, how's ds?

Going to have a quiet day today, ds1 in nursery, ds2 asleep, must try to finish essay!

vbus · 09/06/2009 10:50

Tilly - I got 'My little encyclopedia' by Usborne. Great for inquiring minds. He loves it, after reading it yesterday, he said he wanted to go to the top of the Empire state Building, told me he was covered in skin and asked what sound does sound wave make

I abandoned playgroup idea as DS2 fell asleep in the car, also having a quiet morning & hot choc

good luck with essay

sfxmum · 09/06/2009 11:29

good morning all

sorry about the strike hear about it last night, doesn't Boris have a plan? I hear he was going to have marshalled bike rides etc

vbus he did release an album a couple of years back, whatever I don't really care he is always great

tilly/vbus dd has the body book and spends ages spouting 'facts' about the blood lungs digestive system and so on with practical examples, some too practical really

finally managed to go running first time since Tuesday soggy but can't have it all

really must study today I am a little behind

OP posts:
vbus · 09/06/2009 12:12

Sfx - good luck with study and well done on run esp in this weather. I saw Radiohead play yrs back and thought they were excellent but I haven't realy kept up with his solo stuff though I'm sure it will be worth watching.

Right best go and get DS1 now, time just keeps disappearing!

slng · 09/06/2009 14:46

Hello!

sushi - hope getting to work is not too hellish.

sfx - Well done for running! Wasn't too rainy this morning over here but looks like it's about to pour down. Just at going home time ... As for Boris, does he ever have a plan!? Man is clearly a nut case. The only thing good thing is that the London Olympics is going to be a good laugh. Or would he not be around then?

DS1 is thinking up theories of why dinosaurs went extinct, but nothing very convincing yet ...

sfxmum · 09/06/2009 15:15

I feel a little better about freedom of expression

slng it is not a huge sacrifice for me honest, always feel better for it no matter the weather

so what are the current theories on extinction?

OP posts:
slng · 09/06/2009 16:02

Minibeasts upstairs allegedly going to the toilet and changing out of school clothes.

Current theories of extinction not very interesting - dinosaurs bumped head and died, dinosaurs lived to a great age and died like human beings (but no theory as to why human beings don't die out like dinosaurs), dinosaurs fell in big hole etc etc.

tillyfernackerpants · 09/06/2009 17:08

slng, venture the underpants theory to ds1, see if he goes for that one!

sfx

tillyfernackerpants · 09/06/2009 17:10

I realise my last post might be a bit odd, was referring to this book!

pcworld · 09/06/2009 19:37

Hello everyone Sorry to be so antisocial - just busy! Not enough time to get online, grrr. ds is climbing now - onto everything in sight - so I am pretty hectic. Thumbs up for encyclopaedia purchases, dd LOVES hers and frequently sits quietly thumbing through it. Got an illustrated atlas, too. It's all great fun! Not sure what we're doing tomorrow yet - enjoying a more chilled week, last week was mayhem! We went to the Science Museum on Sunday, hadn't been for a while - was brilliant fun. Has anyone on here been to Legoland? Pondering a trip. Tis pricey, though. We have some Tesco vouchers which could make it less painful.

vbus · 09/06/2009 19:58

Hello

Sfx - there is some justice in the world

PCW - Sounds crazy your end! Haven't been to Legoland but also wanted to try it, also using vouchers I bet DS is keeping you on your toes

Tilly - this was the one I bought

Ther are some dinos in here too!

tillyfernackerpants · 10/06/2009 07:30

thanks vbus, might have a quick look in Waterstones today!

pcworld, haven't been to Legoland but we were going to use our Tesco points as well! Its ridiculously expensive otherwise

SushiMummy · 10/06/2009 08:52

Good morning all.

sfx/vbus/tilly/slng - thanks for your input of encyclopedia. Will try buy one soon.

With regards to the tube strike, well, I got on Silver link to Highbury Islington and changed to WAGN to Moorgate. Took extra 20 mins, not too bad.

Kewcumber · 10/06/2009 09:52

oh bollocky bollocks, think I have tonsillitis

SushiMummy · 10/06/2009 09:55

Oh poor you, KC. Are you on ABs? Your immunity seems a bit low. Hope you feel better soon.

Kewcumber · 10/06/2009 09:57
