vbus, John Torode yum, will it involve scallops?

sfx, well done on soggy run! Ds1 finishes nursery on 25th August & starts school nursery on 17th Sept, he also keeps asking when he's going to his big school!

Quiet day today. Ds1 just watching Finding Nemo & then we're going to play Pop up Pirates while ds2 naps.

vbus · 04/08/2009 14:00

Tilly - definitely no scallops involved What is pop up piartes? We've had blocks, cars and books this morning and going to do play d'oh session this afternoon. I'm exhausted just thinking about it

sfxmum · 04/08/2009 14:45

what is wrong with scallops? fast food innit?

got extra paints for dd in what turned out to be a long outing after nursery, she really wants to go to school too and I am looking forward to the uniform most of all, it will likely end the endless outfit search every morning

I feel like a fraud taking praise for running it is like happy medicine to me makes me feel better instantly

sfx, nothing wrong with scallops. I just remember a conversation with vbus about Masterchef & how they all seemed to feature scallops in every episode!

vbus · 04/08/2009 16:18

Love scallops, but yes they did feature heavily in the last series! Hope guests will enjoy their scallop-less meal regardless.

DH just texted he will be coming back from Italy tonight as they've done what they can, hurray

sfxmum · 04/08/2009 16:49

I see don't watch cookery programmes generally, even less if it is competition reality genre

looking at Tory school policy since I expect will affect the next few years

OP posts:
slng · 04/08/2009 19:21

I do watch cookery programme but don't like Masterchef very much. Never got any useful idea from them ...

Vaguely looked at thread on Tory school policy. Is it about choice again? Honestly.

sfxmum · 04/08/2009 21:31

It seems to be another fiddle with the already fiddled system basically if parents care and are able to afford move to nice area/ private school all will be fine

Morning! Lovely sunny day!

Trying to work but falling asleep .... But must get on.

Kids' friends coming to play this pm. The living room is already filled with train set, so I guess it can't get much more messy...

vbus · 05/08/2009 10:30

Slng - want to bet it won't get messier?

Sun is out so we'll be playing out today in garden. I really enjoy eating our meals in the garden too.

I realised this morning that I forgot to switch DS2 night light on last night, but as he slept well without it I think I won't bother with it anymore. DS1 was about same age when we didn't use nightlight

Hope everyone well

slng · 05/08/2009 10:43

vbus There is no more room to be messy! DS1 was requesting making raw playdough so they can make little models and bake them.

We have a little nightlight too. I only put it on if they wake up in the night and are scared. But I never remember to switch them off...

pcworld · 05/08/2009 10:44

Morning, hope everyone is ok
Have had a dreadful time with ds, he has been really poorly and is absolutely covered in spots. dd got off very lightly with it. Am so lucky that dh is here this week so dd can still do her swimming course plus other activities.

Am taking dd for a haircut later, it will be so good to get out of the house

pcworld · 05/08/2009 10:44

vbus, how is the potty training going?

sfxmum · 05/08/2009 10:48

good morning all

pcw sorry to hear about the prolonged confinement hops ds is on the mend poor poppet

vbus hope potty training going ok

slng wake up!

dd took until 10pm to fall asleep last night, 2 full hrs in bed fussing around and she did have a busy day, so this morning was a bit of a trial to get her moving, done some errands now for some study before picking her up, might drift over to Kew or something later depending on how cranky dd is

Kewcumber · 05/08/2009 12:09

sorry working hard so no time to MN - is there anything I need to know?

SFX is your email address the bulldog or sky one? Have sent you an email (must delete you old one)

sfxmum · 05/08/2009 13:49

KewC sky one have a couple of others which I should send out too

OP posts:
Kewcumber · 05/08/2009 15:22

OK just resent to sky, will delete bulldog one.

mygreatauntgriselda · 05/08/2009 19:31

PC ((hugs)) to you and DS - is he scratching the spots?

pcworld · 05/08/2009 21:37

Not scratching too much, just very, very sad and howling into my knee a lot He looks dreadful, too, I never realised it could be this bad, dd just sailed through it the other week, I thought she was pretty spotty at the time but tbh it was nothing compared to this.

Oh well, at least there is still plenty of school holiday left for us all to enjoy once he is better

sfxmum · 06/08/2009 10:22

good morning all

pcW hope things are improving poor boy and poor you

hope everyone is well

pcworld · 06/08/2009 10:27

Morning, all Well, think we are almost out the other side here, phew ... although still under house arrest {bored emoticon}

So what's everyone up to on this fine and sunny day

sfxmum · 06/08/2009 11:21

good to hear pcW on this fine day I will mostly be trying to keep child safe as she runs away from me on busy road, then trying to limit number of things she raids from shop shelves then dodging paint and assorted toys scattered across the floor

OP posts:
vbus · 06/08/2009 13:45

Hello all

Sfx -
PCW - sounds horrible for poor DS, hope he turns the corner soon

Had an excellent time with Swedish friends, was a late night though so having a v.lazy day. DS1 went to bed at 10pm but thankfully still slept 12hrs

Potty training going really well, no accidents this week Have dilemma though, been invited to friends in Wiltshire on Sun, had it in the diary for a long time but what to do on long trip - pull ups all day?

slng · 06/08/2009 13:53

vbus - we never used pull-ups ... We carried the potty everywhere, and just have more stops along the way. I read a tip somewhere too about carrying a jam jar for emergencies but we never had to resort to that. Also bring lots of change of clothing!
