am longing for dh to go on his diet it is hard work resisting all the puddings and wine he brings home, have been really indulging lately. I blame the summer

vbus hope the Italian emergency does not spoil your week ,will it be in the papers? the pesky Italians

SFX - sounds like hell in your house

Poor little ds, is is so under the weather and the spots are everywhere hopefully he'll at least be on better form early in the week.

Anyway - the sun is out!! Hope everyone can get out and make the most of it while it lasts eh!

vbus · 02/08/2009 09:21

PCW - poor DS, hope he doesn't suffer too much

Sfx - yes, it's probably already in the papers Ta for FB tip, must spend more time on FB

Novelty has well and truly worn off using toilet this weekend and now dS1 doesn't even attempt to go, immensly annoying but DH keeps getting cross with him which is making me cross. Oh well, I hope to escape for solo trip to library later today

sfxmum · 02/08/2009 10:22

sfx, how was Kew?

vbus, has dh left for Italy now?

Had a lovely day yesterday. Went to Hyde Park with picnic, played for ages in the playground which is fantastic, then a walk around to hear the wind orchestra! Plus saw Alex Kingston (from ER) in the playground!

Ds1 at nursery this morning, not sure what we will do this afternoon, maybe Kew depending on how tired he is

sfxmum · 03/08/2009 08:58

good morning

tilly have not been to Hyde Park in at least 2yrs or so. I like AlexK although she comes across as slightly bonkers in interviews

Kew was very nice C&C running daily activities and weekend face painting so dd had a great time, think will go again today looks lovely out, dd has not slept much so will go early I think

hope everyone is well

SFX and Tilly sound like you made the most of the sun yesterday

We were at Terraced Gardens with picnic and kids outdoor games. The children released blue balloons with messages of love for Baby Peter to mark the anniversary of his leaving this world, it was very poignant and a gentle day.

We've got swimming today in outside pool - hope the sun stays out

vbus · 03/08/2009 10:27

Hello all

Auntie - sounds like a lovely afternoon, wish I could've joined you

Tilly - Day at Hyde park sounds good. Haven't been there for years either, I used to go running in my lunch hr as our office was cloesby. Dh left for Italy yesterday, don't think he was looking fwd to it

Sfx - Glad you had fun at Kew

Bit gutted have to limit our outings atm but at least it's quite relaxing being at home, although slightly dull!

PCW - how is DS now?

slng · 03/08/2009 14:29

Hello!

Lovely sunny day isn't it?

Trying to work at home with DS1, which was OK till lunch time when we had a disagreement about how long you need to chew a piece of steamed fish...

vbus why are you stuck near home? Is it the potty-training? How's that going?

tilly - there's a new sandy playground in Hanwell, apparently. It's at the top of St Mark's Road, just off Lower Boston Road. Friends have been there many times and rave about it. Also a little arts/craft cafe nearby.

sfxmum · 03/08/2009 16:37

another day at Kew and face painting is a daily service now, who knew? dd delighted

Pretty awful story, why on earth was the mum involved???

Slng - do you manage to get much work done with DS around? Yes, staying local due to potty training. Still going v. slow but today was the 1st day we had no accidents since we started

tillyfernackerpants · 03/08/2009 19:26

sfx, saw that earlier . Glad you had a nice time at Kew, didn't make it in the end, ds1 wanted to go to the library

slng, how did the working at home go this afternoon? And what is precisely the length of time you should chew a piece of steamed fish for?

slng · 03/08/2009 20:57

tilly - don't know how long to chew a piece of fish. I left the table in disgust ...

Went to the sandy playground. It's very nice.

mygreatauntgriselda · 03/08/2009 22:24

SFX that takes reality TV to an all time low doesn't it?

sfxmum · 04/08/2009 10:23

good morning all

why is it raining? and particularly why on my allocated running slot? soggy slog again...

anyway hope everyone had a nice weekend
nursery has about a third of the usual number of children, not sure dd likes that

SushiMummy · 04/08/2009 11:22

Morning!

sfx - I know. Lots left at the end of last month. DS keeps asking when they are coming back. Well, at least they get more attention. Did you go for a jog in the end?

sfxmum · 04/08/2009 11:39

sushi hi how are things? you must come out next time it has been a while
yes I did jog bit soggy and just a quick one but is done, am trying to do a respectable 10k next month so must put in the training

dd has until the end of August, last day 27th then home for a couple of weeks before first day of school 16th of September

OP posts:
SushiMummy · 04/08/2009 11:55

sfx - 10k next month! Are you running for a charity? If so, can you please send me a link so I can sponsor you. I'm doing OK, thanks for asking. Hoping to see you all soon, a weekend meet up would be great, with or without DC.

Can't believe DS is going to be oldest one at nursery.

vbus · 04/08/2009 12:09

Hello all

Sfx - Soggy jog not nice but good luck for 10k, which one are you doing? Dd has the same dates ast DS1. He has been asking to go to preschool all last week and I think will be excited to go next week but maybe also sad that not all his friends will be there.

Hi Sushi - been ages since we saw you, hope all is well

Glad we spent all afternoon in garden yesterday given crap weather today. Will have to come up with some indoor ents for today

We have some of our Swedish friends coming to visit tomorrow, they're on hols in London this week. Must brush up on my Swedish as I recall their kids don't speak English. Going to try a quick John Torode recipe for tom.

sfxmum · 04/08/2009 12:27

about race am yet to decide have options in late September/ early October but we shall see that is my plan B should plan A fail

sushi his friend with the September birthday is pretty upset too about not going to reception class according to her granny

slng Swedish always reminds me of my younger years, watched a lot of Swedish cinema, but can't speak a word

OP posts:
sfxmum · 04/08/2009 12:28

meant vbus not slng sorry
was still thinking about the chewing fish business

OP posts:
slng · 04/08/2009 13:07

Do Swedish people chew fish?

vbus · 04/08/2009 13:20

Slng - they chew a ridiculous amount of fish. I could perhaps ask them how long they chew it for and then we'll all able table to sleep at night

vbus · 04/08/2009 13:20

sorry 'able to...'
