OP posts:
sfxmum · 31/07/2009 20:11

LOL slng well it seems on planning on coming back riding said bike, via Afghanistan Iran an so on might be the end of her misery

vbus cafe place sounds nice just googled it

OP posts:
slng · 31/07/2009 20:31

In our younger years we went on a bike through bits of Western Europe. A Russian bloke told us we'd never survived in Russia without something lockable ... I've heard that Afghanistan is just a bit scarier. Finding themselves? More like a fatal lack of imagination...

slng · 31/07/2009 20:33

Also googled vbus' cafe. Am watching gardening program on telly. Best go and chop off shoots on tomato plants now then ...

slng · 31/07/2009 20:46

If anyone wants kale come and get them! I've got lots that I've just harvested because they were taking over the world.

pcworld · 31/07/2009 20:49

Ah, I must factor in a visit to Greenacres soon. Attempted to go about a year ago and couldn't find it! Got lost in the wilds of Hampton.

Oh dear, I think ds is teething. At least I hope that's all it is - he seems v unsettled ...

Shattered tonight, we squeezed a lot in today. Wish there was lots of chocolate in our house, have had to stop buying it so bad is my addiction. And I am absolutely not going to plunder dd's magic stars ...

slng · 31/07/2009 21:11

PC - kale is a good substitute for chocolate you know. And it's free.

sfxmum · 31/07/2009 21:49

pcW keep strong

Kale tempting but I am the only one who really likes it in our house, am very fond of all types of cabbage type veg

dd finally asleep not sure what is going on but she has gone back to wanting me with her until she falls asleep, gets completely distraught otherwise and says she is scared, weird as she would just ask for a story and say night night a year ago

OP posts:
sfxmum · 31/07/2009 21:52

slng about the finding self tread, he thinks he can do it in 6wks with 4K bank loan - utter *** (whatever expletive)

dh has been on a train from China to Russia back in the day and it was fairly hairy even then

do you think I could find myself in some tropical paradise?

OP posts:
sfxmum · 31/07/2009 21:55

and I have a question for fashion proper folk

you know those loop things that came in shirts and flimsier tops? I always thought they should be to help hang them better but they drive me nuts, when I am wearing them, and always end up cutting them am I missing something?

OP posts:
slng · 31/07/2009 22:01

sfx - where do people from tropical paradises go to find themselves? Are they all enlightened sages? Or too busy raking it in ripping off people from other places who come to find themselves? The later, I hope.

Don't know about the loopy thing. I keep them, but never quite know if I ought to ...

sfxmum · 31/07/2009 22:09

was thinking of tropical paradise with no people thank you just a canoe

OP posts:
slng · 31/07/2009 22:51

There'll be mosquitoes.

sfxmum · 01/08/2009 12:46

you just don't want me to find myself

OP posts:
tillyfernackerpants · 01/08/2009 12:57

sfx, wherever you go there you are

Just read the thread, what an idiot!

mygreatauntgriselda · 01/08/2009 13:29

Big fat hungry mosquitoes

Greenacres sounds fabby - must google it...

Haven't had kale for years...

vbus · 01/08/2009 13:33

Tilly -

I'm reminded of the film Mosquito Coast although now it features Sfx on the boat too

PCW - hope DS gets over it quickly and not suffering too badly

DH home late last night as all hell has broken loose at work and now has to go to Italy tom Went round Kingston this morning, I went to Holland and Barrett first and did a massive shop, only at the till did I realise that I'd left my purse at home dead annoying, just had to window shop the rest of the morning but at least it was cheap

vbus · 01/08/2009 13:36

About the loops, I never cut them as they are good for hanging but they do get in the way when wearing, so I try to wind them round bra strap so they are hidden

sfxmum · 01/08/2009 13:40

I was born in Africa and lived half my life in a sub tropical climate mosquitoes and lizards are ok
so there

pcW hope ds ok

vbus - hurrah for cheap trip, shame you did not get to try the Montezuma cafe, apparently they are giving free choc cup to all their FB 'friends'

I slept until late today should have gone running but am lazy and keep thinking it will be raining soon, but heavy rain has not happened yet
how to cut my losses?

OP posts:
sfxmum · 01/08/2009 13:41

vbus being hidden is half the problem, the hitching and tickling is awful

OP posts:
vbus · 01/08/2009 14:05

Sfx - please don't tell me that about Montezuma, I wanted to go there today but as had no money I didn't, now gutted I didn't get a freebie drink

Weather is still being bizarre, really sunny this morning but now look at it. Logically, if you go running it's bound to rain, if you stay at home, it won't

mygreatauntgriselda · 01/08/2009 14:57

Oh this does look fabby indeed:

www.greenacres-childcare.co.uk/kidscafe.html

vbus · 01/08/2009 16:07

It is great
Let me know if anyone wants to try it sometime. It was £2.50/hr for the supervised creche. I just stayed 1 hr on Fri, enough for a cuppa and yum cake

sfxmum · 01/08/2009 18:07

vbus something it is worthwhile just clicking the 'I am a fan' on FB sometimes they put on info and offers on FB only

think will take dd to run around Kew tomorrow poor child needs it

OP posts:
slng · 01/08/2009 19:27

sfx - tropical mosquitoes eat subtropical mosquitoes for breakfast. (Competitive about mosquitoes? Need a life. Need to find my true self. )

auntie - now is your chance to eat kale. Come and get it before it's all gone!

pcworld · 01/08/2009 19:38

Not strong at all, on the Green & Blacks here. Poor little ds is sick, we were up half the night with him. I started worrying about SW this morning - but (unsurprisingly) it turns out to be chicken pox. So ... next week is now completed bd! And I had loads of plans, too Ah well, good to get it out of the way, I suppose.

Vbus, I'll definitely be up for a visit to Greenacres just as soon as I am able to leave the house

Hope everyone else is ok on this fine summer evening
