it just looks so dark and awful I feel like baking - this my friends, is why autumn/winter is bad for waistline

OP posts:
mygreatauntgriselda · 24/07/2009 14:49

BUT ITS THE 24th of JULY!!!

slng · 24/07/2009 16:26

It's summer here!

We've just had the thunderstorm and now the sun is out and we've just got back from puddle-jumping in the park and everyone and everything is muddy and kids are in the bath, to be followed by wellies and clothes...

sfxmum · 24/07/2009 16:30

dd is dressed in flimsy ballerina outfit and refuses to change/modify to go out
hard work being in all day this also means she will take longer to fall asleep leaving me less time to finish up essay due in at midnight

end of rant now be trying bribery I think

OP posts:
sfxmum · 24/07/2009 16:32

speaking of thunderstorms, last Thursday while under canvas there was a huge one right over us, bit difficult to sleep

OP posts:
tillyfernackerpants · 24/07/2009 16:53

We were at the playgroup when the thunderstorm kicked off. Unfortunately that meant all the dc's had to come inside & the noise , they were louder than the thunderstorm!

vbus · 24/07/2009 17:52

Tilly - LOL

Went to Kew this morning, there were a few showers, had a nice lunch there and back home before the real rain fell. Since then blazing sunshine so got some more washing dried!

Slng - thanks for details

M&S meal tonight, DH still on hols after all

mygreatauntgriselda · 24/07/2009 19:18

I am still at work......but going home via Waitrose

sfxmum · 24/07/2009 19:52

it is such hardship living with dh! he comes home with cherry pie, double cream, wine and croissants for the morning what am I to do?

OP posts:
slng · 24/07/2009 19:56

sfx - cherry pie, double cream, wine and croissants for the morning? Pretty happy breakfast, I should think.

Am trying to think of ways to eat pesto...

tillyfernackerpants · 24/07/2009 20:42

slng, I guess straight out of the jar with a spoon isn't an option?

Sfx, lucky you! Though dh did come home last night with a G&B for me!

So ds's asleep, dh gone on his stag, house cleaned (kind of!) in preparation for parent's arrival, I think I've earnt my choccy, wine & trashy film

sfxmum · 24/07/2009 22:12

slng pesto on pizza, pesto on sandwiches, pesto with extra olive oils and balsamic vinegar for a salad dressing, pesto swirled into a nice Italian chunky soup

tilly yum G&B love their caramel

and btw Montezuma's in Kingston just opened a coffee shop over the chocolate shop
need I say more?

back to essay about 200words on something I have not read should be easy
my eyes hurt from cash flow accounts assets liabilities and assorted interesting accounting thingies

OP posts:
sfxmum · 24/07/2009 22:13

tilly instead of trashy film sexy Vampires on True Blood over on FX

OP posts:
tillyfernackerpants · 25/07/2009 07:42

I did see True Blood but have missed the beginning of it, will wait for it to be repeated. Though Sci-fi have started showing Angel from the beginning so will watch that in the meantime

sfxmum · 25/07/2009 07:51

oh Angel yes love that episode when they go to Cordy's party, remember watching it with dh and we were both crying with laughter

off to hairdresser soon, had forgotten I had the appointment - bonus

hope everyone is well and see you tonight

OP posts:
vbus · 25/07/2009 11:02

Yay for Angel and yay for pesto! I like making bruschetta with a spread of pesto, yum

Sfx - thanks for coffee shop tip, I will defo have to try it

Hope essay was ok, brings back memories of my studies!

Looking fwd to tonight but probably won't stay late, I cannot seem to shake this cold

mygreatauntgriselda · 25/07/2009 11:34

SFX you've earnt our night out tonight!!

Am looking forward to seeing everyone

sfxmum · 25/07/2009 13:18

slng remembered another use for pesto, you can make a crust for fish when you bake it very nice imo

house empty dh&dd out somewhere with kites and picnic, think will pop out again to shops

is KewC around? will you be driving or should we all just sit in the back of the bus like schoolgirls?

vbus essay was dreadful I am sure I simply did not do the required work just winged it with info from day school and general knowledge of accounting procedures which is rather slim

OP posts:
mygreatauntgriselda · 25/07/2009 17:58

Haven't heard from KewC - was half hoping to wangle a lift

I'm actually toying with the idea of walking. Its 5 miles from here, which I could easily do, but only if DH gets home in time for me to leave at about 6.30pm.

If we bus it, would you like to meet up on the way SFX? Could meet at a pre-arranged bus stop?

Can I use cash on bus or do I need to steal DH's oyster card? I never use buses - with 3 kids and pushchair I find it to stressful, so walk everywhere

Kewcumber · 25/07/2009 18:14

if you want a lift come around to mine at about 7.45pm

sfxmum · 25/07/2009 18:22

kewC & auntie meet at 7.45 at KC's place?
many thanks

OP posts:
mygreatauntgriselda · 25/07/2009 18:59

vbus · 26/07/2009 09:29

Nice to see some of you last night Auntie - thanks to your office for the parking spot!

Just chilling out today, hoping weather will be nice enough to have bbq for lunch

I have Last king of Scotland to watch tonight

Sfx - this is the drama I told you about that I got for DH, it is very good.

pcworld · 26/07/2009 12:19

Vbus - Last King of Scotland is fab, fab, fab. Quite violent in parts, just to warn you. But superb and totally gripping.

Hope you all had a super-duper time last night. Was the food lovely?

sfxmum · 26/07/2009 13:23

hello all

would second the opinion on the last king of Scotland, very good central performances

ended up staying awake until 3am for whatever reason so a but zombie like today
