Bonjour tout le monde

Back from France, great holiday, shame it had to end!

Haven't read posts. Any news???

Hopefully catch up with some of you on night out. On with tackling laundry and unpacking...oh the excitement

tillyfernackerpants · 23/07/2009 14:32

auntie/slng, I can't make it now, dh on a stag weekend

vbus, glad you had a nice time

pcworld, how's fil?

sfxmum · 23/07/2009 16:07

vbus welcome back I would gladly go back to France tomorrow, dd keeps asking if she can be a tourist again

was listening to the radio earlier about SF and new website, apparently healthy people are planning on lying to get the drugs 'just in case' am obviously too naive

dh said that there is a distribution site by Ealing Town Hall, which has been stocking Tamiflu for weeks and is guarded by armed police

my current problem is a spreadsheet I have to produce as part of assignment my eyes glaze over shame it is too late to offer you kindly accountants some cake

Hello!

Back from dentist visit and shopping spree... M&S utter pants. Only ONE shirt available for DS1 which is not too ugly or expensive...

SFX - heard about Ealing Town Hall Tamiflu distribution but didn't notice anything...

Will phone up to book Okawari after rescuing whatever it is DS1 has dropped "in" the door 8 o'clock do for everyone?

Auntie - Ms, not Mrs. Thank you.

slng · 23/07/2009 17:23

Done - Okawari, table for 6 at 8 on Saturday, under that bit of my name that starts with an "L"...

sfxmum · 23/07/2009 17:53

thanks slng

anyone around tomorrow? thinking if all else fails and weather foul will take dd to M&S cafe for lunch

OP posts:
slng · 23/07/2009 18:12

sfx - weather forecast indeed foul... We are visiting friends, otherwise would join you.

Dinner done quite quickly - homemade pesto ( but we had too much basil - never thought it's so easy to make pesto and so nice) + bought gnocchi (anyone made them before?)

Now the laundry ... (trying to ignore noise of chaos upstairs ...)

sfxmum · 23/07/2009 18:35

dh made gnocchi once or twice years ago
love home-made pesto but you really do need a bumper crop of basil

delicious

OP posts:
vbus · 23/07/2009 19:37

Never made gnocchi and was to discover today that our basil is no more. I think we were late in planting them this year , love making pesto with crops though

Sfx- how was fest? Did you meet KC? Dh off tom so not sure of plans yet. If sunny, might take DS to 1 o'clock club if he's not too tired after preschool. Will text you if I do go

Slng - don't know Ealing or restaurant, is it easy to find, anywhere to park?

sfxmum · 23/07/2009 19:57

vbus evidence of fest on FB

sister just told me it is 40 degrees in Barcelona not so much of the 40 but of the being in Barcelona bit

OP posts:
vbus · 23/07/2009 19:59

Ah yes just had a look at the pics

slng · 23/07/2009 20:34

vbus - Restaurant. Parking on Bond St itself outside restaurant free after 6.30, I think, and also on Mattock Lane and High St. Otherwise there is the multistorey in Ealing Broadway shopping centre, or behind town hall (free in the evening, entrance on Longfield ave). Coming from the south I'd try Bond st itself first and then town hall.

mygreatauntgriselda · 23/07/2009 21:25

SFX I was in Ealing Town Hall today and there is indeed a tamiflu distribution centre there

ppl lying should remember tamiflu ha its own side effects

apparently the only way you can get a diagnosis in person is to go to either a BA or Virgin check in desk at the nearest airport, where the staff are armed with thermometers

so are we organising a car from kew, SFX/KewC?

mygreatauntgriselda · 23/07/2009 21:27

...for Saturday nite out I mean (not to Heathrow airport to have our temp taken by BA staff)..

am working tomorrow so sadly cannot meet

sfxmum · 23/07/2009 21:45

car lift please be very nice thank you

about the distribution centre dh was puzzled about what was going on at first and speculated it was a holding pen for infected people to be corralled too much sci fi

OP posts:
slng · 23/07/2009 22:23

LOL at Mr SFX. Perhaps it would be a more effective measure ...

tillyfernackerpants · 24/07/2009 06:33

lol, sfx. Though I was laughing at the DM headline yesterday which said that a coach trip reached France, France sent them straight back after blacking out their windows!*

Wish I could come tonight . Oh well, hopefully next time. In fact, I will arrange the next one to make sure I can come

Sfx, how's the essay going? We're not around today, dh is off for the morning before his stag do.

Plus ds1 has been awake since 6am so is going to be an absolute terror by this afternoon. Apparently he woke up because his hands were broken , I suspect they were numb!

tillyfernackerpants · 24/07/2009 06:36
  • I didn't buy the DM, I was looking while waiting to pay in the supermarket!
slng · 24/07/2009 07:24

Tilly - it's Saturday night. Can you come then?

tillyfernackerpants · 24/07/2009 07:37

Slng, sorry I thought it was tonight. But no, dh is away for the weekend, who still has a stag weekend? Surely they're a bit 1999 now? (Just making up a random year, btw)!

mygreatauntgriselda · 24/07/2009 09:03

Oh dear I wasn't offering a lift, rather hoping I could cadge one of someone else lol

If I drive it means I can't have a drink

mygreatauntgriselda · 24/07/2009 09:04

Perhaps we could get 65?

sfxmum · 24/07/2009 09:54

good morning all

no worries auntie 65 is fine and is KewC coming too? I expect she is still on drugs

tilly no need for proviso I check the DM regularly online it scares me that those opinions are mainstream, although I don't actually know anyone who subscribes to their views it is a parallel universe
and regarding essay it will be my worst ever it is a spread sheet and assorted text and I just glaze over maybe because I skipped most of the reading and prep exercises
will cobble something together and cringe as I press send

OP posts:
mygreatauntgriselda · 24/07/2009 11:50

SFX she says she is coming on meal thread as she has babysitter arranged anyway. Perhaps we need to work on her for a lift lol

Kewie I love you...

pcworld · 24/07/2009 14:11

Wow, impressive thunderstorm, huh? dd and I have just completed a massive jigsaw while ds sleeps. Tis a bit autumnal. Just in time for the school holidays

Perhaps we will go out puddle jumping later
