am off sick today

pcworld · 16/07/2009 11:41

Oh no, Auntie - what are the symptoms? Not well here, either and v v busy with the Fat Toddler mark II - he is going steal the crown from the Fat Toddler mark I, I think!

Hope you feel better soon, have you taken anything?

How is everyone else?

mygreatauntgriselda · 16/07/2009 17:18

lol well our Fat Toddler has lost a lot of weight as he ate nothing for 4 days, so is now the Slim Toddler

Sore throat, fever, cough, exhaustion, runny nose, tummy ache, sneezing and in the case of the FT add vomiting

slng · 16/07/2009 17:59

auntie - is everyone better?

Very busy day today but have managed not to shout at anybody ... yet ... though did have very rude treatment from cold caller. If they think I'm going to buy anything from them after that they must need their collective heads examined ...

mygreatauntgriselda · 17/07/2009 08:53

I ALSO HATE UNSOLICITED SALES CALLS !
breathes deeply...

totally agree with you slng

everyone sort of ish better but i am still wiped out and keep falling asleep

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

mygreatauntgriselda · 17/07/2009 16:55

Can anyone remember lending me either of these books?:

2nd chance by james patterson
Friday by Robert A Heinlein???

mygreatauntgriselda · 17/07/2009 17:00

or The house on lonely Street by Lyn Andrews?

slng · 17/07/2009 19:51

Not me, auntie.

I'm reading Rebus. Getting addicted ...

Went to nursery party this afternoon. The noise! Still recovering.

slng · 17/07/2009 19:56

Nearly poured my wine into a pint glass! That's how traumatised I am!

tillyfernackerpants · 18/07/2009 09:27

Hi everyone, haven't been on in a while, not sure why, haven't been particularly busy!

Auntie, books aren't mine! Is the Fat Toddler any better?

Ds1 had his school induction the other day, was completely unfazed by it all & keeps asking every day if he's going to his new school! How do you explain months to a 3yr old?!

slng · 18/07/2009 19:44

Hello!

Quiet here, isn't it?

We went to a garden centre and got weapons to wage war against dandelions. I don't think we are winning ... The flipping lawn still looks like a bloody salad bowl.

tilly - good sign that DS1 is not worried. Probably ready and rearing to go! We had letters about which class DS1 is going into next year and he's being separated from most of his friends. But he's also not worried. I said then he can keep old friends and make new ones so have lots of friends and he said "I know, I know" impatiently...

I wonder if the Latitude lot is being rained on.

mygreatauntgriselda · 18/07/2009 23:05

lol slng

i always explain in DAYs

365 days to go until your next birthday, that kind of thing

mygreatauntgriselda · 18/07/2009 23:06

Tilly at least he's lookimng forward to it!

mygreatauntgriselda · 18/07/2009 23:07

FT is loads better but very tired - sure its SF as overwhelming tireness one of main symptoms i think

SF is in my dtreet, in our school and my boss just had it

tillyfernackerpants · 19/07/2009 07:27

auntie, I've been worried about ds1. He's got a bad cold but am worried its swine flu! I swear I wouldn't have given it a second thought if it wasn't for all the bloody media hype & conflicting advice! Glad FT seems better

Slng, how's the war on the garden going? Lol at ds1's teenage attitude, we get some of that as well!

mygreatauntgriselda · 19/07/2009 16:21

Tilly apparently SF is the only flu going around atm - according to today's Times

TBH I am sure we've had SF but it was a mildish lingering thing (apart from DS2, who was very poorly and vomiting) - which I think is what it has been for most ppl. Try not to worry. If he gets poorly phone the out of hours GP number.

Our school is riddled and has notices up on the doors:

"Flu in school" and "Vomiting flu in school"

last week's notice was "Chicken Pox in school"

slng · 19/07/2009 18:42

Playing PS2 game after a break of 5 years

slng · 19/07/2009 18:44

Changed my mind. I'm so rubbish at it ... Don't see why supposed entertainment should be so stressful. Going to play the piano instead. Poor neighbours!

tillyfernackerpants · 19/07/2009 19:29

slng, dh just bought himself an xbox, can't see the appeal personally!

auntie, thanks. He's perked up a bit today & has had some calpol. I swear its just a cold & cough, bloody media & govt!

Exciting news for me as well - dh has agreed I can do my postnatal doula course! But its not until October (boo).
